The overwhelming smell of salt engulfed me in an instant and the world seemed to be swaying back and forth. Burning sensation could be felt on my arms, shoulders and back as I worked my muscles to grip tightly on a wooden pole.
"What is happening?!"
I peered around and the sight of the never-ending water casted an obvious line of the horizon that separated the blue sky. The weather seemed pleasant as the sun greeted me with the scorching sun with its merciless rays. Looking downwards to where I was, the light brown coloured wood emitted a tangy smell but the boat was clean and empty. There were no food supplies. It was just the wooden paddle and myself.
The waves clapped onto the front part of the boat again and I realised that I had to save myself from this rough sea. With all my might, I held onto the paddle and pierced it into the waters then dragging it backwards to speed the boat up. Experiencing a great to a destination which I do not know of. Stretching my neck up, I tried to look what is ahead as the current become rapid and strong.
Waterfall.
My pupils diluted with immense fear and my mind twirled in a moment of shock. The desperate need to survive immediately set in. Every inch of muscles in my body tightened as I struggled to paddle to get my boat away from the edge. Every piercings of my paddle into the water is my scream of helplessness. Every strength pumped into paddling the boat is my cry for survival.
"I can do this! I can do this!" slowly became, "I can't do this anymore."
The boat reached to the edge of the waterfall. It was hopeless. Nothing more I can do to fight for my survival. I peered down and it seemed like it was a hole of nothing-ness. My mind went blank as my body gave up, my soul gave up. This is it. I set my mind to fall among the water and crash onto the rocks at the bottom of the waterfall. I allowed myself to embrace the very last moment of life. How life have been a challenging one.
As the water furiously pushed me off the cliff, the boat flew off and sprang over my head. The dreadful hammering of the water punctured me down as though they cannot wait for me to crash. My hair flew upwards as my body was being flung in and out of the angry waters. I was nearing the bottom.
That was it.
