Playing Dress-up Already?

Seriously, I can't get enough of Ellie. I'm just like Jaren and Xander and always want to hold and cuddle with her. The other day, I actually changed her outfit a couple of times, just so I could see what she looked like in them!

Ellie watched her brothers all the time. I had a hard time getting her to look at me for a picture. Here are a few more pictures of our sweet little Ellie:

Ellie & Her Big Brothers

Ellie will be 2 weeks old tomorrow. She has changed so much already. She's such a great sleeper, and loves to nurse! We are so blessed to have her in our family.

Jaren is having a blast with all his train tracks and trains. Daddy helped him put this together. It only lasted about 10 minutes before Jaren decided he wanted to "re-build" the tracks!

What proud brothers these two boys are! This picture is for you Pam! Ellie's wearing the "little" headband you made for her.

Jaren and Xander really like to play outside. We can't wait for warmer weather. This is the new sand table they got just before Easter.

Xander is a very quick learner. He loves to climb the ladder to go into the fort and then go down the slide. He follows Jaren everywhere!

The boys, especially Xander, have a really hard time keeping their hands off of Ellie. Jaren is a bit more careful, but don't be surprised if you see an adult hand in most of the pictures trying to keep the boys off of Ellie!

Jaren is so proud to hold Ellie!

Another sweet picture of Ellie. This is only the 3rd time Ellie has warn this newborn outfit, and probably the last! At her 1st checkup (when she was only 3 days old), she had lost a pound. I had to take her in the following week and she had gained a whole pound back! That's my girl!

We are sure going to miss having Grandma Burton around. The boys love having her here, and Jill REALLY loves having her here!

Here's one of our quieter moments. I'm exhausted, but look at our beautiful kids! Xander always wants to be held like Ellie now. I don't think he realizes that he's jealous of Ellie, but I think he's figured out that she's not going anywhere!

Easter Day

Here are Jaren & Xander on Easter morning, Ellie is in the background. They are playing with their 'windpops' as Jaren calls them, I call them windmills.
Xander and Jaren got bubbles in their Easter baskets. Xander is holding his.
You can see some jelly beans in their cheeks or some other kind of candy.
Here is Ellie with Grandma Burton on Easter morning.
Ellie likes her binky.
Xander likes the bouncer too since we got it out. He is such a cute little man.
Xander and Jaren are looking at their baby sister in the play pen.
Xander loves to try to touch her. We'll have to keep an eye on him.
Ellie looks so peaceful.
Jill still made time to dye Easter eggs with Jaren. What an amazing mother.
Xander wanted to help, but we just let him watch.
We did our Easter egg hunt after dinner instead of in the morning as is typical. Xander was still happy.
Xander is holding his turtle basket and Jaren is holding his Triceratops basket.
Jaren got 15 eggs to Xander's one egg. Xander was too busy eating the jelly beans.

Here is another picture of little Ellie with Grandma Burton.

Mommy & Baby Come Home

Jaren and Xander get to hold Ellie right before leaving the hospital. Jaren looks excited!
Xander loves his little sister, he can't keep his hands off of her.
This was the best close-up shot I could get at the moment. Jaren doesn't have a smile, but I think he is still happy.
A new family portrait. Xander wasn't the happiest.
Grandkids with Grandma Burton.
Ellie all buckled up for the ride home.
Another cute car seat photo.

Our New Arrival - Ellie Carol Davis

Here is a picture of Jill minutes before we left for the hospital. She was having consistent contractions for a couple hours by this point. She worried she might not really be in labor, but those fears were quickly relieved.

Jill has her epidural and is only one or two hours away from giving birth. I think it was a little easier for her to give a smile once she got her epidural. She is laying on her side since the epidural wasn't numbing her left side as much as the right. They tried to balance out the pain relief. She progressed quickly, especially when they broke her water.

Here she is! Ellie Carol Davis was born at 4:08pm EDT, April 10, 2009. She weighed 8lbs. 3oz. and measured 21 inches long.

Mommy and baby are doing well. You can see Ellie's chubby cheeks. A beautiful girl just like her beautiful mother.

She wasn't as quick to open her eyes as our boys, but when she finally got around to it we snapped her picture.

Ethan is happy to have Ellie here and that Jill and Ellie are safe and sound.

Another cute picture of mommy and baby. Ellie was ready to eat pretty quick. She started smacking her lips and then she sucked on her fist. She is already a pro at eating it appears, mommy sure hopes so.

These pictures aren't in focus, but they are still cute. You can see her little fingers.

Another picture of her nice round face.

Laying contently under the heat lamp to warm up after her sponge bath.

Grandma Burton arrived from Seattle four hours after Ellie was born. Ethan and the boys went and picked her up. The boys were pretty tired, but Jaren still had the energy for a big smile, Xander wasn't feeling it. They were at least a couple hours past their bed time by this point.

The boys enjoyed playing with their new Hot Wheels in the hospital room that Grandma Burton brought for them. Hopefully Jill and Ellie will come home this evening.
