Grandma Burton

Grandma Burton flew back to Utah on Saturday (the 13th). We were so sad to see her go. We've had an incredible 7 weeks of great memories with Grandma. We love her so much, and hope she visits again soon!

6 Weeks

Audrey's Blessing

Audrey was given a blessing today at church by her daddy.

Kirtland, OH

We stoppedin Kirtland, OH to visit more church historical sites. Here is the Newel K. Whitney store.

Here is the Kirtland temple, which is now owned by the Community of Christ church.

Palmyra, NY

After Niagara Falls, we headed to Palmyra, NY to see where Joseph Smith grew up. This is a replica of his childhood home.

The Palmyra temple, seen from the Smith farm.

Homemade beehives... pretty creative, huh?

Audrey, just haning out...

My beautiful mom as we walk through the Sacred Grove, where Joseph Smith saw Heavenly Father and Christ.

(These hand-placed rocks show the boundary of the Smith Farm)

Hanging out at the Palmyra Temple...

Some guy was proposing to his girlfriend...

The Hill Cumorah Memorial, where Joseph Smith found the golden plates.

A copy of the first edition of the Book of Mormon.

This manuscript has the handwriting of Oliver Cowdery, who transcribed the Book of Mormon for Joseph Smith.

This shows how a part of how they printed the book.

We also visited the Peter Whitmer farm where the church was first organized. This is also why my boys remember picking up large acorns off the ground!

Just relaxing...

Audrey is 5 weeks old in this picture!

Niagara Falls

Last weekend, we took Grandma Burton on another mini vacation. We went to Niagara Falls and then to more church historical sites in Kirtland, Ohio and Palmyra, NY. We stopped at Lake Erie for a short break.

We went on the Maid of the Mist to see the falls. What a spectacular view! The kids absolutely loved being on the boat, Ellie wasn't sure about getting wet, and Audrey cuddled up next to me and had no idea what was going on. It was definitely worth the time!
