Making Space For a Basketball Hoop

We were pretty busy yesterday with 2 baseball games, and cutting down our ornamental pear tree. The kids were pretty sad about it. Ethan has wanted a basketball hoop for a long time, so we went ahead and cut the tree down so we could get one. It was fun to be able to give Ethan "pointers" as to how to cut the tree down and the branches and such. Given that I cut trees down for a summer in 1998 for the Forest Service and all! We'll use the big pieces to make stools for the fire pit and some of the wood to burn.

Burgess Shadbush Nature Center

Audrey had a preschool field trip to a local nature center. We took a nature walk, and got to see different reptiles. They showed us little frogs, big bullfrogs, turtles, and snakes! Audrey was even brave to let a snake sit on her lap! So proud of her! And Zoey was just thrilled to be along for the ride!

April Happenings

Xander was in a 3rd grade performance called "The Great Kapok Tree". He was a little frog and had 2 lines to say. He did great!

Zoey cracks me up. The kids were dressing up, and she chose to be a wolf!

Xander and Ellie, both had artwork displayed in a school district art show. Ellie made a cute Elephant and a giraffe. Xander made a creation influenced by Monet. They all look beautiful!

Ellie is 7 Years Old!

Ellie has turned 7! What a beautiful, bright, fun, happy girl she is! She wanted to have a friend party this year, so we had a "Beanie Boo Adoption" Party! The kids went from station to station with the Beanie Boo they adopted and had a great time! Ellie loved every minute of it! The next day, we had cake as a family after church. Ellie loved decorating the cake!
