Daddy’s Girl
Dandelions
Ella is obsessed with dandelions! She has to stop and pick every one she sees. I know her Daddy loves her spreading them all over the yard…haha!! She just wants to make sure there’s more for her to pick next year! A couple weeks ago, we went to the park and I know she picked at least 100+ dandelions. She had them in her hair and I even found some of the seeds on Evan :)
Evan at 7 Months
- You are wearing size 2-3 diapers and 6-9 months clothing
- You are a good sleeper at night if we can ever get you to sleep! You FIGHT so hard to stay awake! You grunt and move anything you can to keep from falling asleep!
- You take power naps during the day…you are so scared you’re going to miss something!!
- You now have 2 little teeth on the bottom :) You are so cute when you smile!! And you smile a lot :) Everybody talks about what a happy baby you are.
- You are crawling/scooting all over the place! You can get anywhere you want to go and fast! So you can imagine, you’re into everything!!
- You have figured out how to pull up and stand in your crib. We had to lower the crib to keep you in it! I can’t believe it but before long you’ll be walking?! I’m not sure I’m ready for this!!
- You drool all the time! You’re a bib baby :) That’s the only way I can keep you dry! Maybe it’s more teeth coming in…you’re sister keeps telling you that you need more teeth to eat with so maybe you’re working hard to get them!
- You are a great eater!! You eat 2 jars of baby food 3 times a day and drink 3+ bottles of 6-7 ounces a day. We can’t feed you fast enough…you get mad and start grunting if we take too long.
- You’re a busy body! You move those hands and feet all the time. You are constantly moving :)

Little Brother
Poor Evan isn’t going to know his name! We all call him “Brother” because that’s what Ella calls him :) Little Brother Evan, you are the sweetest little guy in the whole wide world! We love you “more than there’s sea shells in the ocean” as Ella says!
“Come Here Little Duck!”
Spring is finally here and we’ve had some beautiful days to get out of this house! It seems like winter has been here forever! We all have cabin fever! This Taylor bunch was ready for flip flops and sunshine!!!!
To give us a break from packing, I took Ella to the park to feed the ducks and Evan was along for the ride :) Ella was so funny…she would call the ducks, “come here little duck and eat this little bread!” She attempted to catch one to take home! Thank goodness they are faster than she was!
Brother was along for the ride! He would just smile at the ducks and laugh at Ella! I guess the combination of the warm sunshine and strolling put him right to sleep! It won’t be long before he’ll be chasing those ducks around!!
While Evan was sleeping, I bribed Ella into letting me take a few picture of her!

“Taylor Swift” Taylor
Ever since we went to play with the baby bunnies at Mrs. Sharon’s house, Ella has been begging for a rabbit. We told her that rabbits and dogs don’t get along so we couldn’t get a rabbit. It took a LOT of convincing! She argued that her dogs were “good dogs!” Finally she accepted it…then she asked for a fish?! Sharon has fish and Ella loves to feed them! I told Ella that if she was good all week we would go to the pet store and buy a fish on Friday. She has asked me every day if it was Friday yet! So today after preschool, we went to the pet store. We decided to start small with an itty bitty little container and a beta fish. Ella picked out the fish she wanted and I told her she had to name the fish. She immediately said, “Taylor Swift.” Everybody at the pet store was cracking up! I suggested “Finn” and she said “NO! Her name is Taylor Swift!” She hugged the little container and told Taylor Swift that she was going to take good care of her and feed her lots of fish flakes. So…we are proud to introduce the newest member of the Taylor Family…

Brick House
We have been explaining to Ella the process of packing, moving, and building a house to hopefully make this transition easier for her. As we are packing, she goes behind us and unpacks! She’s even asked if she can take the paintings that were done on her bedroom walls because she doesn’t want another girl to have them!
The other day on our way home, we were talking about the house and I was explaining that it had to be built…
Me: “Ella, these men are going to come build us a house out of wood on our land”
Ella (with HUGE worried looking eyes): “Wood?! Mommy don’t let them build our house out of wood! Make them build it out of brick!!”
Me: “Why Ella?”
Ella: “Because I know what happened to those 3 Little Pigs!!! And I want a brick house!”
LOL! I laughed all the way home!!

Baby Bunnies
Miss Sharon and her husband are animal lovers and are so good at taking care of animals! They have “nursed” birds, bunnies, and all kinds of God’s creatures back to health! The other day, Miss Sharon called us and told us she had some baby bunnies a lady found and brought to her. There were 3 of them and they were the softest and most adorable bunnies ever!! Ella LOVED them!!! She begged and begged to take one home with us! I told her that our dogs wouldn’t like the bunnies…then she asked for a fish! LOL!!
Made At Home!
With all the food and drug recalls that have taken place in the last year, they have me worried about what we’re eating! And even worse, what am I feeding my kids? So I decided I was going to try my luck at making homemade baby food for Evan (with the help of my lovely assistant, of course!) I bought organic sweet potatoes, bananas and apples at the grocery store and got a quart of canned green beans from Paw-Paw’s garden. 3 sweet potatoes, 1 quart of green beans, 2 bananas, and 2 apples made 48 ounces of baby food to freeze! The whole process was actually much easier than I thought it would be!
We started with these…
And with the help of my assistant, TA-DA! we have baby food!…
