Gotta Get Caught Up

Where does the time go?  Today I realized that Evan is 18 months old…and it’s been over a month since I last updated this blog…and it’s been almost a year since we started building our house…and in a few short months Ella will be 5 and start kindergarten!!  I still can’t believe my baby is going to big school!

I’m going to try to catch back up on what’s been going on with our wild bunch…

Ella is “all grown up” or so she thinks :)  She is the smartest 4 year old I know (and yes! I am a little biased).  She is reading and is so good at it!  She truly amazes me!  She’s still a girly girl and loves clothes, shoes, dress-up and anything/everything PRINCESS (it takes one to know one…lol!)  She has learned how to use the house phone and memorized everyone’s numbers.  I catch her all the time hiding and talking to Aunt Candy :)  She loves to sing and dance!

And this little guy…well he’s a man on the move!  You know you’ve spent the day with Evan because by naptime you need a nap too :)  He may be into everything but that doesn’t stop him from being the sweetest little guy I know!  I just can’t get enough of him!  He’s learning how to fight back and Ella’s payback is coming soon ;)  He loves, loves, loves anything with a tractor on it!  I think he’s going to be a John Deere boy!

Emergency Trip

A couple weeks ago, we made our first trip to the emergency room :(  Ella had been complaining with her tummy hurting for a few days prior to our ER trip.  It seemed to be getting worse and our pediatrician recommended we go ahead and go that evening.  They were so good to Ella!  They wanted to rule out appendicitis and the only way they could was to do a CT scan….that meant an IV, drinking contrast, and getting Ella to be still while they did the scan.  I was so proud of my BIG GIRL!  She didn’t cry when they started her IV…instead we sang Dixie Chicks :)  She drank the contrast without complaining even though she shivered every time she took a drink.  She recommended they get strawberry flavor to the nurse.  She was such a trooper!  Cory got to stay with her when they did the scan and he said she did exactly what the CT tech told her to do :)  We are so thankful to God that the CT scan and all her blood work came back good!  She had been on antibiotics and had the stomach bug so they think it was a combination of that and a little constipation.
