Letterland Trunk-or-Treat
The kindergarten classes all dressed up like Letterland characters for Halloween trunk-or-treating. Last year at preschool, Ella dressed up like Quarrelsome Queen so I assumed she would be okay wearing it again…but, she insisted on being Clever Cat. Of course, I didn’t have any costumes or anything close to a cat. You can only imagine the day before Halloween and I’m out looking for cat ears and a tail. I finally found cat ears at Walgreens (the last pair!!)
The parents could volunteer to help with trunk-or-treat by decorating their vehicles like the “homes” of different characters. I bet you can guess right off which character we were…yep, Firefighter Fred! The kids were so excited to see a real firefighter! Ella was so proud of our trunk (and Daddy!)
Kristin was Cory’s fire girl assistant (we laughed and said she looked more like a road maintenance worker…lol!)
Ella’s kindergarten class dressed up as Letterland characters. They were all so cute!
CHEESE!
Guess who wasn’t feeling like having their preschool picture made…
His teacher said through all the tears he still said “CHEESE!”

Pumpkin Chunkin’
Cory wanted me to take the kids to the pumpkin patch and take a few pictures. I asked my brother to join me and so we could get a few pictures of the kids all together. They had hundreds of pumpkins of all sizes. Evan immediately found “punkins” his size and wanted to carry them all around. He then realized that he could toss them around. It then became a pumpkin chunkin’ contest for him. There were pumpkins rolling everywhere. Me and Matt were chasing little pumpkins all over that hill. After a couple failed attempts at pictures, we chased down Evan and left as fast as we could. I did buy 2 very overpriced pumpkins to offset the gentleman’s loss on all the little “punkins” my son hurled down the hill. I told Cory that if he wanted pumpkin patch pictures next year he better be the one taking them…lol!
This was right before he started throwing these little pumpkins down the hill.
This little pumpkin wasn’t in Evan’s hands for long…shortly after I took this picture it was sent rolling down the hill :)
This is the best shot I got of the 3 of them together
Evan found some little friends to play with. This saved a few pumpkins!
Ella wasn’t feeling pictures either...I have to laugh. It was quite the experience! I’m not sure if my brother will ever go back to a pumpkin patch!

Halloween At Jellystone
It has become a Bolick/Taylor Family tradition to spend a Halloween weekend camping at Jellystone Park. It is a busy weekend from planting magic pumpkin seeds with the witches of Jellystone to carving pumpkins to the games and costume contest. Our campsite has proudly won the costume contest 3 years in a row and this year we also won the pumpkin carving contest. It was such a fun weekend! We already have our reservations for next year! :)
We started the weekend off with planting our magic pumpkin seed…
Found the perfect spot for our pumpkin to grow…
Our magic pumpkin was waiting for us the next morning!!
Matt with the winning pumpkin!
While Evan napped Ella, Daddy and Uncle Matt did a little fishing…
Fish #2…(Uncle Matt looks so excited!)
Evan was ready to go trick-or-treating!
Trick-or-treating…
Evan had fun playing with the camper door. He ran a concession stand all weekend! He would take your order but only served “Pepi” (Pepsi).
At the end of the weekend, Yogi came by to tell us good-bye! It was another awesome family weekend! We’re already planning our costumes and pumpkin for next year :)
