A few from this morning...

New Years resolution - stop hotlinking from facebook and get a picture program going. I don't always like to put up as many photos on facebook that I might put here, since that's a place to share with friends and this spot is reserved for my boys to read when they are older.

Anywho... Christmas morning was full of amazement. It started with day three of me being off work, but not being able to sleep past 6AM. What is up with that? I feel so old. Long ago are the days when I could sleep until 10 or so in the morning.

Amazement continued when Aden didn't wake up until 9AM (no, you read that right), and I had to wake Ethan up 15 minutes later. Believe me, these boys were flat tired out from the excitement from Christmas Eve and there was no rousing them.

Aden got to open one present before Ethan woke up, and it turned out to be this game that he used to play at his old school (the one with no curriculum, just games all day). He loves this game!

We had also left cookies and milk out, and Aden noticed that they were gone and Santa had left a thank you note. He was so excited about that.

Ethan has been so fun this year. He fully appreciates every present he gets and ooohs and aahhhs over it all. He does have his favorites, like the set of three nerf balls that Aunt Lindsey gave him (I forgot my camera on Christmas Eve, silly me), but even the smallest of gifts will get a clap or an "oooh" out of him. It makes you feel so good about getting people things when they appreciate it like that. The boys have made hauls this year! Remote control cars/trains, stuffed animals, games, balls, toys galore. But if you ask Aden what the day is about, he will tell you it's Jesus' birthday.

Ethan got a bike for Christmas. He loves it (and so does Aden). I love that adults can steer it. Can't wait for the next warm day so we can take it for a spin. With the weather these days, that should be sometime next week.

One thing that Ethan has always loved are tents and forts. He has a blast getting inside his own area and camping out or hiding. So of course this pop up tent was a huge hit.

And I wish this picture hadn't come out blurry because it's adorable. Aden got a Paper Jamz guitar for Christmas and here's Ethan striking a real Rock Star pose:

The tent is even fun sideways! Jeff and Marilyn sent a big box of toys for all the kids this year and one of the goodies Ethan got is this little blue penguin pillow pet. Aden got a purple unicorn pillow pet from Gigi. These boys love their pillow pets!

But the REAL hit of the day was Aden's DS. He has spent the entire day mastering Indiana Jones.

Pictures to come later, but after a few hours, we headed over to John's for a quick visit. Adam and I weren't thinking and we headed out without packing a lunch thinking we could grab something on the way. Wrong. The only thing open for lunch was Denny's, so we grabbed some to-go food from there and took it to John's house. That's where the boys got their amazing new teeter totter!

Then we jumped back in the car for dinner at Gigi's and the boys got a few more gifts there. We finally ended back at our place for game night, which consisted of Candy Land, Hungry Hippos, Chutes and Ladders and a Treasure game. Aden loved it, Ethan loved having company.

I hope everyone's Christmas was as fun as ours!

Merry Christmas!

And Happy Birthday Jesus!

Still can't upload photos

So I'll hotlink a few from facebook:

Here's Aden and I watching the Parade of Lights...

And the rest of the crew - Ethan LOVES parades. And lights!

The weather this year goes from the 40s to the 80s hour-to-hour. It's so strange. So on Monday, a little less than a week from Christmas, when I left the office in 85 degree weather I immediately picked up pizza and the boys and we had a picnic in the park.

Something else Ethan loves? Bath time. All I have to do is ask if he's ready to take a bath and he runs for the bathroom. He can't get his clothes off fast enough. Then he immediately asks "Viamin Viamin?" Because I give them a vitamin after they let me wash their hair. It's precious.

Tuesday when I picked up the boys, Aden was dressed as Rudolph and his class was going from classroom to classroom caroling. I grabbed Ethan from his class and took him next door to watch Aden's performance. (He was the best performer - shhhh...)

Then we headed over to the grocery store, where Aden Rudolph kept this on the entire time. And insisted I call him Rudolph.

Smile :)

A few photos that make me smile... Aden in Tae Kwon Do (very first week!), all three boys playing in the bath and Gigi and Ethan enjoying a book!

Aden breaks a board!

Aden has been in Tae Kwon Do for a week now and tonight he got to break a board with his foot! He was a little tenative at first, and didn't have confidence that he could do it but I was so proud that he tried anyway and actually broke it on the first kick!

Catching Up

I'm catching up on some of these photos that I haven't been able to download. Since they are already on Shutterfly, I'm able to add them over here too. A temporary fix.

Saturday morning, the boys just wanted to color, so we got out the big box of crayons and color books and spent time with that.

The weather was kind of chilly, but actually pretty nice so we headed outside with daddy to "help" put up the Christmas lights. I used it as an opportunity to get a few outdoor photos of my boys, who were both in a sweet mood.

Cookies Galore!

My mom came over Friday with the girls (Mia and Ava) and we took a quick trip to Target. Yes, on Black Friday. It was late afternoon though, almost dinner time so we were hoping the crazies were all done shopping. Wrong. It was still very crowded.

We grabbed some cookie dough and some sandwich stuff and headed back to my house for some fun cookie decorating. The kids had a ball!

Aden had so many sprinkles on his cookies that we had to start using the cookie as a sprinkle shaker for other cookies.

Ethan was loving Grandma, who gave him a tray of sprinkles and a couple cookies to do with as he wished. He ate them, put them in his hair, his ears, down his shirt - and of course on the floor. He had SO much fun.

Sweet Mia is such a great friend for Aden to play with. They have a blast together and the two of them blew through these cookies like professional pastry chefs.

Ava's not yet at a cookie eating level, but that didn't stop her from singing and laughing and having a good time.

Bailey stopped in to help too! He was here to show these kids how to REALLY make designs!

The finished cookies...

Oh Christmas Tree...

After Thanksgiving dinner, the boys and I headed home and at Aden's absolute insistence (he has been dragging himself around on my leg begging to put up the tree), we got down the tree and a few boxes of ornaments from the attic. I still can't believe I was able to crawl up there, drag this stuff down and keep the boys off the attic ladder all by myself. Trust me - I needed a breather after it was all said and done.

But they were so cute putting the ornaments on the tree, all at three feet and below. I'm starting to get into the holiday spirit... just a little!

Thanksgiving Pictures

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving at Lola's (minus daddy and Papa who were at the Cowboy game). Aden went over early in the morning to help cook and Ethan and I went over after nap.

Ethan has decided that he REALLY likes Thanksgiving. Anything with this much food is certainly a celebration.

I'm still trying to get a good photo of the boys together to use as a new blog header. The one I've got on there now is from February. Here are a couple of attempts - I'll try again another day, ha!

After dinner, Lola brought out the candy molds and melted chocolate and Aden was all about making candy. He got really serious about it - so cute.

Ethan performed his duty as Head Candy Taster perfectly.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
