Ethan woke up at 5:45am vomiting. I guess he just had a lot of drainage, but it was so sad. He threw up every 15 or so minutes for 4 hours and watched Puss in Boots in between.
Then he finally started feeling better late morning and was able to keep popcycles and chicken noodle soup down. Poor baby, this was his first real experience with vomit.

Dream Reader
Before heading to bed tonight I went to check on the boys. Ethan had snuck books into bed and fell asleep "reading." It was adorable.
Aden is experiencing Seuss Week at school. Each day there's a different theme. Thursday is silly socks day. I bought a few choices for Aden to pick from... These were Ethan's favorite.

Seriously. WHERE has this year gone?
I know it's February (almost March) but Happy New Year! Here are a few things we've been up to.
We've been doing so much better at church. Ethan used to cry and have a mini-baby-heart attack about going to church (only to love it and not want to leave once it was over). Now, he walks right up to class, opens the door and starts playing. He never looks back. He also tells all his bible stories that he learned, all the way home. It's the most adorable little thing. He says, "Mommy, you want to hear my story?" And I'll say, "Yes baby." Ad then he says, "'Bout God?" "Oh I sure do." And then he goes right into his story. Aden is also getting familiar with the new church and already knows his way around. He really enjoyed being part of POP last Fall, and we intend to do that again - just as soon as we know what his upcoming soccer schedule will look like.
We also finally took the plunge and moved Ethan over to his toddler bed. The hold up is that he really had no problems in his crib. He loved being in it and what isn't broken, you don't fix. The other is that, unlike Aden, Ethan is not a rule-follower. Aden is so great about staying in bed until we tell him he can get up. Ethan... well...
Turns out, he really, really likes being in a "big boy bed." And it also turns out that we were so right. This child gets up at 5am-ish and wanders around the house waking us all up to play. Asking him to go back to bed is like asking a shark to swim the other way. It's awfully annoying.
We had a mini episode on new years eve. I call it the Flood of 2011. We had plans to take the boys to Six Flags to celebrate the end of the year, but just an hour or so before it was time to leave, a pipe broke in the boys bathroom and water flooded portions of the house. While it was not fun during the flood, it was relatively easy to clean up and we ended up getting to replace the damage with new carpet. This has been a blessing! We have needed carpet in a major way since we've moved into the house and have never really felt that we could afford it. Now that we have it, I don't know how we've lived so long with that other stuff!
We also made a trip to the stock show this year. The boys loved the animals and the tractors. Ethan has especially had an obsession with tractors lately. Every time (and I mean EVERY time) we sit to eat, Ethan dramatically states, "Oh NO! We forgot to ride the tractor!"
So he got to sit on a tractor at the stock show, and then a few weeks later, he got to ride a tractor at Doc's house. What a big day for Ethan! Aden found them too noisy. Aden is way too much like his mommy.
Aden wore out the soles of his boots. He wore those things every day. So much so that they started calling him "Boots" at school. (The teachers.) So he was able to pick up a couple new pair at the stock show. I must really love this child, this was more than I spend on my own shoes.
I got my first call from the school nurse on Jan 31. Apparently Aden fell at recess and bumped his head. I picked him up, brought him to the office to sit in the Indy car (a real live Indy car!) and then we picked up Ethan and got ice cream.
Ethan discovered Asian food. Love.
Lindsey had her birthday at Saki and Ethan loved every minute of that. He wanted to be part of every experience - including the fire, which scared him slightly - and even tried sushi and ate with chop sticks.
(studying the menu)
Aden wasn't as big of a fan. He ate some of the chicken and a questionable bite of rice and was done until dessert. As little as that child will eat, I can't believe he can still stand up.
Aden also tried chopsticks and didn't do half bad.
Ethan was still eating long after everyone had finished, packed to-go boxes and paid the bill.
Valentine's Day was big this year. We created tons of Valentine's art, and the boys enjoyed their school parties. Ethan has been telling me all week how he trick-or-treated at school. Oh that little love bug! I made them all three some surprises too.
So now, we're looking forward to spring soccer. We are supposed to find out this week who our coach is, and when our practices and games are. We go this week to buy Aden's soccer shoes. I'm sure I'll be including some pictures of that in here!
