Supernatural healing

Receiving an SMS like this in the middle of the night left me extremely perturbed with a heavy heart.

"Doc says ah gong got internal bleeding ever since he left the hospital. Normal people blood level is about 11, his is currently 5.5. Now they're doing blood transfusion for him and see how it goes. But the doc said must 心理准备." -Jasmine

The last four words killed. Most would have broke down upon hearing this.

Strangely, being the emotional me (at times), I didn't. Rather, the numbers started to shine out brightly at me when I read the painful message again. All I could see was 11 & 5.5.

The biblical meaning of numbers>>

11 - Deals with the things of imperfection, disorganization of systems, and the disorder or chaos of things..

5 - Grace

Then stringing all together, this came to me:
During the disorder of things and at the 11th hour, grace came, not once but double portion.

At the same time, the phrase "Hand of Grace nailed in Grace" kept coming up to my mind.

I could not believe how just these few numbers gave me so much comfort. It was as if Jesus expounded to me through the numbers and I managed to get the revelation. I further prayed tongues and felt so much relieved. I had full confidence in God and was to sleep peacefully knowing that by God's grace, Ah Kong is healed.

To add, I am also comforted by the fact that Jesus used two of us (Alvin and I), to convince Ah Kong to go to the hospital earlier that night.
Many of my relatives came down and persuaded him to no avail. We are indeed the lamb of the household! Praise Jesus!

Others may not see it, but I certainly did and witnessed the wonders of God. Having my first baking job to be botched was not a bad thing after all on that fateful night.
Whilst waiting fer the second to be baked, I promptly went to switch on Ah Kong's room lights only to see his face and palm drained of blood. It's just not me, but the Holy Spirit leading. It's something I would never have done when Ah Kong is sleeping. My dad would have scolded me too for disturbing. All these while papa was still persuading my grandad to go to the hospital in the dark without realising how precarious the situation had been.
It's darn stupid to attribute all these to a stroke of luck. how lucky can one get to make negative events turn around for good and then go on to save others on the brink of death. It's definitely Jesus and only Jesus Christ himself, Amen.

————————————

The next morning came quickly. I reached work when I received another message telling us to be prepared for the worst. Seeing this, getting an emergency leave was all that I wanted. My face contorted when I asked my colleague whom do I have to go through for emergency leave. I was fighting back my tears.

This time, I was shaking. My eyes were welled up. I was so confident Ah Kong would get healed till I couldn't accept the news. I was close to applying leave online when I stop short to pray in tongues till I felt more composed. That was when I realized rushing to the hospital was pointless, commanding blessings over Ah Kong through my Healer was better.
I am glad to say my parents and a few other relatives went to the temple to pray too. It made me feel we know where to place our priorities right. Instead of worrying away and sitting haplessly at the hospital awaiting for miracles to happen, we turn to God.

Not long after, we received news his heart was no longer weak and able to accept the blood transfusion well.

————————————

Currently (5 days later), Ah Kong is well on his way to recovery. Though he is still undergoing a battery of tests to find out what caused the internal bleeding, I have faith that the tests will just act as a testimony that Ah Kong is already healed, in Jesus' name, Amen.

Thank you so much, Yeshua Ha'Mashiach.

Work Life

Some points to why I am blessed to be able to enjoy work:

+ Designing a shopping mall with people is more fun than doing it alone. Gone are the days of hair twirling/wrenching

+ A whopping 17 NUS Archi people are here, which includes me. Considering my graduation batch has only about 90+ people.

+ Wednesday Weekly lunch gatherings for the AY‘05 batch. We make it a point to lunch at a better restaurant after each pay day

+ My potted non-spiky cacti named Calendostraphurasus (collectively) which I got them from Hort Park. I water them twice a week and may change their name again when I forget

+ Office’s located in a shopping mall. Early dismissal spells zig-zaging through the mall (be it Korean grocery or clothes stores) before hitting the train station

+ Friendly, helpful and patient colleagues are brownie points =)

+ Though I work till late, I don't seem to mind for the joy of the Lord is my strength, Amen.

Um.. To bathe or not to bathe

I actually wrote many pieces of blog post, leaving them to decay in my iPhone.

Wrote them during my 8 mins journey from Esplanade to Paya Lebar station on the way home from work. From Amanda's birthday to funny quotes of my tour guide's in Hokkaido.

I wonder when will they enter into my web diary someday.. I'm just too tired to switch on my Mac, christened Hemily (short-form for Hi Emily), after work every weekday. I figured I ought to give my eyes some rest..

Then comes the weekend. All the more I feel I should give my eyes a well deserved break. But more importantly, I find weekends too precious to let blogging occupy my time. Editing and montaging of photos can take up quite a bit.

Now, I'm just taking 3 mins to blog because I'm procrastinating to bathe. Good lord. Yes yes, I should get my butt up after I press "Done".

Till then, have a blessed weekend bumblebees!

Campin' on our Anniversary! - 19th May

All I wanted was a unique anniversary celebration fer the both of us and I've got more than what I've bargained for! - A hottttt date!

We bought a tent meant for 4, prepared light bites such as canapés which we enjoyed putting any toppings we thought would go well together (gawd.. the blue cheese's stench.. but it blended in well ) and what nots.

By the time we were all ready to go, it was late in the evening.
I remembered Alvin kept commenting who the heck pitches a tent at night (for leisure), it's darn difficult!

Indeed so!
We were the only ones amongst the other campers still busy pitching a tent in the dark.
LOL. We're like dumb and dumber.

When we finally settled down, the canapés had already soften. Bummer.
To top it off, the weather was ridiculously warm and humid!

After dinner, we decided to watch Fantastic Mr Fox on Alvin's iPhone.
Because the screen was kinda small, we've got to lie close to one another, but you know, at that time, it was the impossible.
As soon as the lovely show ended, Alvin and I readily agreed we should go out fer a stroll.
(The stroll here meant circling our tent as by law, at any one time, there should be no unattended tents around)

However, upon realisation that the stroll wasn't of much help, we decided to retreat back to our lil' oven and retire early for the night.
Um, I didn't actually plan for anything other than a picnic dinner.
I thought it'd be just a lazy night out and we'd have a great chat as we lay among the green pastures.

Blessedly, our saving grace was the Jesus-sent rain that cooled us down in the middle of the night.
The pitter-pattering sound of raindrops on our dual skinned tent even sounded soothing.
It lulled me to sleep and I'm sure that was the case fer Alvin darLIN too.

By sun rise, we're woken up by taichi players blasting ching chong songs.
It was only then we aware that the rain had seeped thru our tent!
Miraculously, we're all warm (literally) and dry =)

My ever so helpful darLIN took down the tent by his own whilst I stood on a stone bench from afar guarding our stuff and most importantly, to stay away from red ants (if any).

To conclude, this trip was a bittersweet experience, but I'm raring to go for one again, only during the wetter months next time.

Happy 3rd Anniversary Darling!

Amanda's 24th - 16th May

I must say Amanda's 24th was celebrated in a unique fashion, we played badminton! That it was the first sport we do together even made it all the more memorable.

We even planned to do badminton fortnightly. Excited by the prospects, I specially bought a cross training top for our future biweekly meets. Heh

It has been years since most of us last held a racket and quite expectedly, the game started off with a few missed serves and loads of shuttle cock picking. Only half an hour into the game, we felt we were too ambitious to book a two hour slot. It was hot and stuffy indoors and very soon, I felt a headache was imminent.

Sure enough, I had to take a breather. Amanda joined me, complaining of stuffiness. The ventilation at Serangoon CC was just horrendous!

Throughout the hour and a half game, Candice was the only one who took the least break. I attribute her long standing to the air being fresher at higher altitudes.

The last half an hour was spent slacking and taking photos. All these while, my headache got worse and I just slump onto the chair while waiting for Regina to flag a cab.

The Power 4.

Thankfully, all it took was one long warm bath at Candice's to feel 100% energized and ready to head out to celebrate Amanda's birthday. However, as soon as we laid our butts onto the most comfortable sofa ever whilst waiting for one another to finish bathing, we didn’t feel like moving out anymore.

Then someone had to mention the bright idea of ordering pizzas in. Yay!

Whilst waiting for pizzas to arrive, Regina played Guitar Hero.

The pizzas arrived real late and as you can see, we over ordered.

Haha, so this is how we exercise, and manage to regain our loss carbs at the end of the day. :)

Wedding of the Lau's - 15th May

Dang!

The much awaited wedding of the Lau family finally arrived.
My younger uncle (er jiu) got married this May.

Other than my younger aunt, it never occurred to me that any of my mum's siblings would ever make it to the aisle as years went by.

The last time (18 years ago) I saw my younger aunt was when she brought her month old child, Elisha, to popo's (maternal grandma) house.
I don't think I've ever seen her husband.
She has since migrated to Israel and gone on to have 7 more children. That's one amazing woman!

It's a pity I only have vague memories of her as she's often not at home whenever we visited our maternal grandparents on Saturday nights.

With that said, it's one of my must do list to visit her family and of course to witness the bible come alive!

As fer my mum's other siblings, they're already well into their late 30s, 40s and with one turning half a century old next year.

So one might have guessed the excitement when we received news that my er jiu's going to bring his then girlfriend home fer dinner back one day.

Fast forward a year later, they're now husband and wife.

May I have a cousin to play with next year!

Post Note: My er jiu mu (his wife) has an online blogshop selling direct import Kate Spade and Anna Sui stuff.
I've always wanted a Kate Spade bag! Haha, am glad I a have good lobang (much cheaper than in SG stores) now!

Dinner at Forlino's - 11th May

Wee Hong brought me to Forlino’s at One Fullerton for a treat!

For starters, it was Pan Seared Goose Liver (with Amaretto and Pumpkin Cream)
It was something which I’d never order in my life if not for the set meal.
I must say it’s an acquired taste for me cause it’s soft and mushy meat.

But I’d never forget my main! - Homemade Spaghetti with Black Cod, Baby Artichokes and Mint!
The mint made the dish unique leaving it with a delightful aftertaste I can’t describe. =D

I nipped a bit of Wee Hong’s Wagyu Beef which was great too!

Our dinner ended with Molten Lava Chocolate Cake with Banana Gelato and Rum Sauce.
Sweet!

Post note: Felt ‘floaty’ for awhile after dinner. The Rum Sauce sure had high alcohol content.

The Grand Dame's 50th

Celebrated Mummy's birthday a few days early at Lerk Thai restaurant.

That evening, Jasmine just finished a shoot for Yummi Yogurt!
She's now Yummi Yogurt's poster girl and we get to have free vouchers.. heh heh heh

On Mummy's actual birthday, 4th May, we celebrated her birthday with much fanfare and pomp (lion and dragon dances) amidst hundreds of old fogies at the Singapore's Fuching Clan Association Hall.
LOL. Very much befitting for a 50 year old.

As you can see, it's officially 5 big candles fer mommeeee!!

A family portrait sans Geraldine who's busy studying at home for her midyear..

And that's my grandpa (the most handsome one) up onstage toasting to Singapore Fuching Clan Association 54th Anniversary.

(Yea, that's why my mum insisted to celebrate a few days early).

FB Games? Toodle Doos

Used to play with FB games, when the period's not appropriate (this meant during the school semester).

FB games were an excuse to give myself breaks.
Breaks from the computer? Gee, I wondered how that helped.

Alvin even changed my password once as he deemed my few hours interval breaks a lil’ too frequent.

Then determined to tear away from the games, a month before submission, I forced myself to make a callous decision (or so I thought at that time) to sell away ALL my fishes in the aquarium (such a pitay cause it took months to get to top 2). Yes, Happy Aquarium was my favourite game. I’m a Pisces, does that make sense? Haha
I also made sure I harvested every darn plant I grew to prevent friends from ‘stealing’.
Had honestly thought I would make a comeback after submission's over!

But much to my amazement, after submissions were done and dusted, all the games which I had played fervently didn’t even interest me the tiniest bit.
Hm?! Yea, how unexpected. Right now, I only logged in occasionally to oblige my friends’ request to send 'free' items or to join in their farm co-op. (If that sounds alien to you, it’s Farmville)
Thus in retrospect, I must have played those games to escape from the harsh reality of doing work all the time and am proud to say I’m not a games addict.

With my sudden newfound freedom, I’m at a complete loss whilst sitting in front of my laptop. (er, to people whom I owe photos to, by this Friday k!)

I have no particular websites to visit other than the occasional online shopping or to attach documents to my emails. Catching dramas are just to while away time and planning for my grad trip seemed to be going nowhere yet.
All others like blog hopping, tweeting, wiki-ing and the like can be done without a hitch through my smart phone.

So........... that’s it toodle doos, I have to end abruptly as it is wayyyyyyy past my targeted 2am bedtime (It's 4.00am!!).

Heh. Before plonking myself infront of the laptop, I was cable surfing ‘I shouldn’t have been Alive’ and animal documentaries on cable TV – Predator CSI (it’s stoopid, talking about a hybrid Polar & Grizzly Bear finding) and Dolphin Bay.
Staring at a 50+inch PlasmaTV is definitely much better than a 15 inch laptop.

Good Night Handsome & Beautiful!

Korean Fare!

Look at what we did on Labour Day!

We laboured ourselves happy by whipping up a fantastic Korean lunch!

Let's take a look at behind the scenes shall we?

Scene 1: Chopping up of veggies. As much as we tried, we couldn't chop as fast as Yan can cook.

Scene 2:  Chef Candice and Chef Emily cooking Jeon and Tteok Bok Ki respectively.
Really Regina 'chap-ed' in = Imminent disaster

Scene 3: As mentioned, Really Regina tried her hands at frying bull's eye egg/sunnyside up. Flopped. Totally not her forte.
Chef Emily took over.

Scene 4: Poor Really Regina could only step aside and just looked on..

Scene 5: Fortunately, Chef Amanda pitied her enough to find her a simple job - Arranging bibimbap's ingredients!

Scene Finale: Presenting.. a WONDERFUL, FANTASTICA MAMA-MIA Meal! *applause*  *applause*

Celebration Time! 1-2-3, Indulge!! =D

After party meal activities - Mahjong Time!

Now there, that's a life of a Tai Tai

-End of Story-

Quite abrupt huh.
Hahaha, stay tune for the next meal whipped up by C.A.R.E.!

The Helix & MBS

Immediately after Alvin & Friends' (Harminder and Nicholas) last engineering paper, we went to visit Singapore's latest star attractions, The Helix bridge and Marina Bay Sands!

At the mouth of the bridge is the Youth Olympic Park.
Unfortunately, it doesn't give me an impression I stepped into one other than a few children's art on display here and there.
What exactly constitutes a Youth Olympic Park?

Here, the sci-fi looking bridge stops abruptly and throws you off course onto a cement pavement midway (it hasn't been fully constructed).

Bumped into a bunch of Malaysian archi mates along the bridge!
L-R: Chin Wei, Anthony, Kian Wee, Me, Mun Chun and Min Jie.

They're all heading to explore the casino, no levies imposed.

ZOMG. And guess who I met en-route to MBS.
Fancy bumping into a number of archi mates in one short evening.

We flailed our arms wildly when Co Seng and I saw each other. Hahahahahaha.
Such serendipity, we just did lunch and movie a few days ago!

Haven't met Hong Guan fer ages too! =D

There! The interior of the latest and biggest vice den in Singapore!
Not many Singaporeans know where to get an aerial view of it without having to part with a $100 levy.

It's at the Imperial Treasure floor and only accessible by lift.

The intricately done ceiling doth makes it a fine backdrop for photo-taking. =)

Alas! These trees in giant ceramic vases were what I was looking out for the entire walk.
I had read about the 3m tall ceramic vases being fired in a specially built kiln in China earlier that morning.

Um, but after I've witnessed the canopy of trees, it's nothing special.
Over hyped.

Went up to where the rooms are located next.
Was surprised that security was laxed to be able to enter guests-only floors.
Perhaps, this wing wasn't ready to receive guests then.
But goodness gracious, it was quite stuffy up there!

As you can see, the guys were quite bothered by the heat and were ready to charge at any sorry wuss anytime.

These were the last few shots before we headed off for supper at Hooters. Don't you think the picture of the shimmering fabric-like facade (it moves as the wind blows) framing the moon looked particularly spectacular.
Ok, regrettably, the photos here do not do justice to what we saw back then.

The Fraud Pastor

I am not God, so thy shalt not judge.

But IF I were God, I'd condemn Michael Guglielmucci to the pits of hell.
Fucker. Seriously.

It was reported in 2008 that Michael Guglielmucci, son of Edge Church founder Danny Guglielmucci, had fraudulently claimed he was dying of cancer. During this time Guglielmucci received money from supporters who believed his illness was real. Guglielmucci also released the hit song Healer, an anthem of faith for believers who were suffering from cancer. Guglielmucci explained his actions as being a result of a long term addiction to pornography. (wiki)

I was wondering what happened to this man afer blogging about him in May 2008. I have since removed the post as of today. Bleargh.
Didn't bother to follow the news about him after that until someone linked him to my blog today.
Googled and this was what I saw.
EEEEEEEEEEEEISH.

However, I have to admit that Healer is STILL an awesome song written.
And for those who prayed for him to be healed, if you'd been praying in tongues, I think the Holy Spirit must have been praying for his mental health then. Who knows. It came to pass anyway since he confessed.

Read more about the fraud case here.

Hey there!

I've forgotten about my BlogPress App in my iPhone..

I'm looking forward to next week, a new phase in my life! Till then, I'm most unhappy to announce I look like a ghastly and gaunt P.O.W. suffering from major lack of sleep & sunlight, staring at the comp from night to morn, vice-versa. Ayam fweeling liiiiight-headed.

However, I know I'd emerge victorious & glorious in the aftermath with Jesus as my aid. Amen to that & Cheerios!

P.S.: After eating for weeks, I conclude Bengawan Solo's walnut cakes are better than banana cakes. BUT I bake much nicer banana cakes. Period.

P.P.S.: If you've seen my tweets >> A continuation - As Indians are called Apu-nehneh & Chinese are called Cheena-pok, what is the term of endearment for Chin-dians?!!

Din Din's 15th Birthday - 4th Apr

Din's birthday celebration (actual on 6th Apr) was held at Tonkichi.
Frankly speaking, other than being famous for it's tonkatsu, I think Tonkichi is blibleahblablorg.
The rest of its food items tasted bland, mostly coated with bread crumbs, deep fried.
Fweel I'm better off eating tasty unhealthy food, at least my palate gets some justice!

Alvin and I gave Din a pig balloon.
(This balloon costs as much as 3 Big Mac meals but don't you agree it's a purrrfect prop for photo taking?! It now hangs in-between the staircase railing, flattened -18th May)
Funneh this pig can fly.
It's meant to be walked but the cashier pumped more helium in so that it won't be flattened out fast.

I think my mum looked very radiant here.
She thinks otherwise, saying that she's fat.

To Piggyflower, this time it's a strawberry shortcake.

Mummeh having a ball of time with da pig.

Geraldine just had to show off her fabulous painted nails, done by Miss Piggyflower.

My dad decided it's time to exercise by walking the pig (遛猪) after lunch - surely a good start to a healthy lifestyle!

Whom do I take after most?

Let's take a poll. (see right column)

My dad or my mum.

Methinks my arched eyebrows resembles my dad,
my light eyebrows resembles my mom.
My smile is too wide, it resembles *gasps* an addition of the two.

OR,
there's a saying that traits skip a generation..

My grandad?!

It's MY PARTAY & I PRAWN if I want to - 12th Mar

C.A.R celebrated my 24th Birthday by prawning with yours truly.

Buying SQUIRMY WRIGGLY WORMS in hope for a better catch. ~
Post note: The worms are just an added bonus fer SKILLED prawners.
If you're a noob, don't bother spending money on them.
The complimentary chicken heart would suffice.

Regina's the only girl who was brave enough to hook them up.

Considering it's friday night and the rest were shagged from work, they extended the supposedly 2 hour session to 3 cause they're hooked on prawning!

Then Amanda, who was the one who called for extension, got bored during the last half an hour cause she caught zilch, started fiddling with her new camera.

A total of 13 prawns was a new low for me! Bah bah black sheep
I found it very puzzling that no one dared to skew the prawns alive except me.
Compared to handling worms, prawns are nothing isn't it?!
They aren't even slimy, their shells feel plastic!

Mmmmm...... and the night ended with feasting on lightly salted bbq-ed prawns!
*loves*

O but it didn't end there for Candice.
She happily sucked all the prawns' head for their juice till I reminded her the prawns just had worms fer their last meal.
(I believe the prawns were reared on chicken hearts and the worms hadn't been digested so I had no qualms consuming them)

Poor girl, she had memorable night at the toilet that night. Heh heh
