Where do I start?

Randy and I had a great time in Europe!!! We went so many places that I can't remember the names of everything (it doesn't help that they were all in a different language). We don't have all of our pictures yet so I will give you a run down of everything we did and then post some pics later. The one thing that we do regret is not taking my Nikon. I kicked myself so hard for not doing that. I justified it by not wanting to break it and haul it around everywhere we went (it's not a small camera.) Anyway.....please enjoy

Day 1: Left Texas at 1:00pm on Saturday We arrived at 7:45 am Sunday in London and missed our train to Brussels. We got new tickets (luckily they did not charge extra) and arrived in Brussels at 4:00pm Sunday (9:00 am Sunday Texas time)
Jake then took us for a short tour of Brussels. We walked around the Tervuren park. It was beautiful. Within the park we walked to the area where the Church was dedicated in Belgium.
I don't have these pictures yet, will post later.

Day 2: We went to the city center of Brugge. Brugge in on the coast of Belgium. Like I'm going to say a millions times.....it was beautiful. All the buildings were embellished with gold and statues. It have a very old church that brought out a relic everyday. They claim to have a piece of rope that has Christ blood on it. While we were their they brought it out and had their service for this relic.....I felt a little weird about that so we left. I really like this little town because it had a river running through it and many of the houses/apartments were on the bank. I will post pics of this later.
Belgium is known for their french fries. While we were in Brugge we experience the french fries. The experience was great......except they don't use ketchup. The most common sauce they use is mayo......I don't know about you but the thought of plain mayo on my french fry was not to appealing, so I went with the garlic sauce and Randy went for the curry sauce. Not to bad, but I if I had to choose between McDonalds and the "French" fry; I would go with McDonalds.
While we were here we bought some chocolate. They had every kind of chocolate you could imagine. Nothing beats Belgium chocolate. We bought our chocolate from Dumon, a family run shop, which was featured on Rick Stevens travel show/blog. They were very nice and proud for their chocolate......and they had reason to be proud.

Day 3: We went shopping for some shorts. Beglium weather is usually overcast and rainy, so I came prepared rain. Well, we were blessed with beautiful weather and I did not pack any "summer" clothes so we went shopping in downtown Brussels. This was a neat little area. It was a outdoor mall with narrow cobble stone streets and lots of character. We finally found some shorts at H&M.
Belgium is also know for their waffles ,hence the Belgium waffle. They had little waffle shops on every corner. Instead of hotdogs carts on the corners of the street (like in NY) they were waffle carts. They were delicious! They would melt sugar on the edges making them crispy and extra yummy.

Day 4: We went to Lueven. One of the oldest Universities in Europe is located in Lueven. I enjoyed Lueven because everyone was on a bicycle. Old people, young people, college age people......everyone. We went to the town hall, which was amazing. It was the most ornate building I have every seen. There were statues carved into the wall on every inch of the facade. It was amazing. Directly across from the city all was St Peter's Catherdral. This was beautiful as well. Again.....I'll post pics of this later.
Later on that day we went to Kessel Lo Park. This was one of my favorite places. This park was basicly a huge playground for kids and adults. It had huge treehouses and slides. They had electric boats, paddle boats, a water park, little electric cars, and the list could go on. I did everthing I was allowed to do. They had a lot of age restrictions(4 yrs -10 yrs), you mean i can't pass for a 10 year old?

We're Here

We are here in Brussuels! I can't believe it. We got into London at about 7:30am (which is about 2am in Texas, I think) Well, we stayed up the rest of the day to avoid jetlag. Well I just woke and I feel like I have been hit by a train!!!! Oh well. We are going to Bruge today. I am not real sure what we will get to seethere but I know that it is a touristy place, so I will let you know! I am sure it will be beautiful! Yesterday we went to a park called.......I will have to have Jake spell it for me....it is something in French. It was so pretty! We then just drove around Brussels to get a taste of what every thing looks like. Jake's office is on the 24th floor (top floor), so we went up there and looked at the entire city from the top! I know I have said this a lot but it was so Beautiful and green. I will post some pictures later.
