Happiness Is...

In stealing the title from a great friend's well-beloved sister...

Happiness is seeing my two boys dancing in the rain together.

X came home from work when it was raining and his little friend was waiting eagerly (he knows mommy doesn't run in the rain!) What a great dad X is to get completely drenched in his work clothes! Makes a mommy's heart happy!

They were chasing each other in a circle. Did anyone catch that Graydon, of course, had a popeye in the first picture...but that X did it...and the same eye!?

Read On!

We have FIVE new posts below, so be sure to check them all out. You'll have time, seeing as how I probably won't post for another two months.

Baby Boy Beckham Round Two

We are expecting another baby boy on Christmas Day! Hooray! And we're halfway there. I am 19 weeks (as of yesterday) and everything is going great. I can't believe I have a baby due exactly on Christmas Day. And we know exactly the due date, so no budging there. But you better believe that I'm going to do my best to get this baby here before then.

Graydon and his brother will be just over 2.5 years apart. I'm so excited that he'll have a brother and I really wanted a boy next. Now how do we guarantee a girl for #3? I know that's impossible, and I actually have the feeling that I'll be a mom of all boys...just securing my role as Queen of the Household...it's all apart of my secret plan.

Here is my 19 week belly. The photo log begins (along with personal cringing). I'm growing my hair out to try to enjoy the benefits of pregnancy, but the heat is making it hard. I'll hopefully have enough to donate again when I most definitely chop it off right after this baby is born.

Graydon showing me his baby in his belly button. He had to take this picture having seeing me do mine.
I'm feeling good at this point; just tired and the typical pregnancy complaints. I am having a hard time with not being able to run and do races and with watching my body change (who doesn't have a hard time with that?). I'm still exercising, but not running just because of the impact. It's not worth the risk and we've worked hard to keep Baby Boy Two healthy! So I told X that this is "his summer" and he should pack in as many races as possible. So he's keeping the training alive in the Beckham house.
Stay tuned for Baby Boy Two's debut in December, as far from Christmas Day as we can get!!

Graydon-isms

I've been meaning to put these in his "baby book," that only goes up to 12 months old...so that doesn't work out too well. So I need to document them before I forget. Feel free to scroll right on by. It's hard to remember everything right now, so I'm sure I'll amend it.

When asked what he wants to name his baby brother his responses were:
week 1: Blue
week 2-5: Garbage Trash (I never prompted him to say this...all from his little mind)
current: Six

There is most definitely a baby in his belly button too.

Graydon loves to be out and about and loves playing with older kids. He'd much rather be out than at home. Whenever we are driving home and he recognizes our neighborhood he starts into this sad rant of "NO GO HOME!" I hear it several times a day. I'm so glad he loves our house so much!

Brian and Kendra babysat Graydon the other day and had Little Caesar's pizza for dinner. They had gone to pick it up and Graydon stayed in the car. The other day I drove by it and he started pleading for pizza. I had no idea that it made such an impression on him, but now I have someone to share my pizza with! He usually hardly eats anything, but he downed two whole pieces of pizza!

Two months ago Graydon kept requesting "Beep" for a bedtime song. I had no idea what he was talking about until something clicked..."Jesus Wants Me For a SunBeam." He sings it in nursery and apparently thought it was Sun-Beep! So cute. As I would sing it for him he'd get to the "sunbeam" part and shout "beep" with much gusto!

Ever since X performed a haka dance back in May, Graydon deems anything black as "haka." You'd think a boy two years of age wouldn't care about his outfits each day. But oh no, he must browse through his closet, looking through all of his shirts. Most definitely he picks a "haka shirt," which means any black or navy blue shirt. Then he pairs them with khaki shorts. I am so sick of seeing him in black shirts with khaki shorts every day!

He likes to chase us around the house "run away mommy" and be the monster. He gets cute little "scary fingers" and roars.

He LOVES to jump on daddy and wrestle. In fact, he gave X a bloody nose tonight by jumping on his nose. He will run and simply lift his feet up into the air and full on body slam X. He has no self-concern.

He has a "foomie" every morning for breakfast...a smoothie.

Tried to shave with daddy's razor while mom was starting the laundry. I heard a simple "ow...ow...owie." No screaming or crying. Came into the bathroom to find blood on his shirt, pants, countertop, smeared on the mirror, and both of his hands were covered in blood. It was a small cut on his thumb, but apparently bled a lot. He wasn't too concerned though.

He is obsessed with trains (the Thomas the Tank Engine series). Still plays with his tractors, diggers, bulldozers, and cement mixers all the time.

Likes to talk about families a lot. "Mommy Beckham, Daddy Beckham, Gwaydon, Garbage Trash." Every night he requests the "Family Song" (Families Can Be Together Forever) as his bedtime song. Love it.

Tries to call Grandma and Granddad on the phone all the time...much to our phone bill's relief, he doesn't know how to call New Zealand.

Loves to watch "Cars." His favorites are "McQueen" and "Frank," the big scary farm tractor that chases Lightning and Mater at nighttime.

Can't resist going tinkle every time he gets in the bath...and laughs about it.

Likes to go potty...sitting on the toilet fully clothed for about 5 seconds and OF COURSE flushing twice. Must be thorough.

His cousin Ethan is in Utah right now and he asks to play with him everyday. When I told him he was in Utah, he said "I want Utah. I want Utah NOW."

When he does a naughty thing to us or accidentally hurts us he says "Sawwy I hurt you mommy. Hug {insert hug}. Kisth {insert kiss}. Feel betta? Sawwy mommy." So sweet.

The "THX" surround sound but at the beginning of movies scares Graydon so bad. If he's alone, he'll let out a blood curdling cry and come running for me...each time.

Pock-A-Stew

Popsicles, or otherwise known as "pock-a-stews," have become a summer essential. In fact, Graydon loves them so much that it brings out his wonderful 2-year-old behavior (hanging on the freezer handle...having 5 minute crying fits while wailing "pock-a-stew.")

But there is a cute side to popsicles. We have to strip him down to his nappy and eat it outside. I'm not dealing with that mess inside!! Here is the cute evidence:

Must concentrate hard...

Pock-a-stews with the cousins. It looks like hard work, huh? I love Sam...he just lost his popsicle and you can see the surprise in his body posture.

Self-Portrait...by Gray

Graydon has lately had an affinity for taking his own pictures. I was shocked when downloading my photos and discovered that there were 47 pictures that he has taken. This is definitely the best.
I'm so not cute in this picture (just got back from the gym in the morning), but Graydon's face was too cute. I was teaching him how to do it.

Here are just a few:

Happy Summer

Welcome to our long, long summer post! We've had a lot of fun and want to share some of it.

Graydon has discovered Thomas the Tank Engines and Friends, so he now LOVES trains. So we rode the DART (Dallas' public train) to Uptown and jumped on the historic M-Line Trolley. It was so hot, but Graydon's apparent love and joy of being on a train was worth it.

Here is one of the ancient trolleys, Rosie, with her also ancient conductor, who was so nice!
I had to include this picture to show Graydon's face. He was fascinated with the conductor, but was also a bit weary...

In Frisco they have an awesome fire station that does a kids night on the weekend. After attending a "Safety Class," you are free to roam around their adorable miniature town. There are roads, complete with stop signs, traffic lights, even a toll both. There are mini house, a mini Wal-Mart, post office, etc.
Friday night was bike night and Graydon was so excited, to bad the poor kid has to straddle the cross bar to reach the pedals. It's a good thing he has such a terrific dad who pushed him all around this place, while obeying traffic rules, of course.

We can't wait until he can ride a bike on his own!

Family photo to let you know I do exist, look lovely and plump at 19 weeks. I'm just the one always behind the camera.

Graydon has been a mamma's boy lately and while at home I hear "hold you mama" all the time. But when he's as cute as he is, I don't mind.

Graydon loves to help cook, although we are still working on him helping to clean up.

Graydon loves to play in his "sand boat" while wearing his "boops."

He found my cowboy hat that I bought in high school (why did I buy it? I have no idea. I've never used it except for costume!). We were cracking up when he came out of his room with this hat on riding his bike. We did not pose this photo. The boy is just a character all of his own!

The "pop-eye" or "stink-eye" is still alive and kicking, especially outside in the bright sunny day. I love the cows' toshes all in a row. He has entered the stage where he likes to put things in a row.
We've enjoyed the local Rough Riders (a minor league baseball team). We got the "grass seats" where you sit on the grass at the back of the field. We figured our little motor would enjoy running around on the grass instead of sitting in a seat.
He loved watching the game and the kids around him playing.
Look at how cool and cute this place is?
Last month X did another triathlon, the Denison Dash, which he did two years ago. While he was out working hard, this is what Graydon and I did while waiting. Check out the ghetto swing "seat belt."

Here's the man running through the transition getting ready for the ride. He had just finished the swim.

And this is the best picture I got of him on the bike. He came whizzing in too fast!

And the same awesome quality in another picture. I can say X was just too fast, or maybe I was struggling with a 2 year old and a camera in my arms.

I'm glad Graydon has his priorities straight.

Look at how cute Graydon is being, helping his papa! Graydon wants to do EVERYTHING that X does.
X did awesome! He got 18th place overall and 4th place in his age group. Yay for him. We look forward to your next one Daddy.
