Emma's artwork

Emma is becoming quite the little artist and actually asks for drawing books regularly at the library. Here's a cool one she just brought home from school. The teacher just told them to draw something that included the words "far" and "star". (Somehow I'm too stupid to make this picture turn clockwise - so you'll half to turn your head counter-clockwise to see it!)

I just got the following email from my friend Rachel Legan in CA -

Dear Too Stupid,

I fixed it for ya. Miss ya,love ya and thinkin' bout ya! Rach

What's the deal?

While in St. Louis, Nate, Shannon, Lucy and Will taught us one of their family favorites for the dinner table. They do this little routine called "What's the deal?" where everyone gets the chance to play stand-up comedian. The content isn't usually that funny, but the delivery is priceless - especially from little Will who we still cannot understand.

Donuts with Lucy

My mom, sister Jodi and I just went to St. Louis for a week to visit my other sister Shannon who just had a baby. I got to take my little niece Lucy out on a date. And with slight subliminal messages, I was able to get her to request a donut run. Of course, she picked the one that was bigger than her head.

Shoping at Saks

So St. Louis has this very swanky mall that looks like it belongs at the White House (pillars and such). We just happened to park in front of Sak's Fifth Ave - so we had to walk through the store - kids, huge stroller and all. When we couldn't find Will, we quickly discovered that he had made his way to the mannequins. I coudln't help but snap a shot.

Skating with the Salas

Ross wanted to see if he could smash his finger again, so we opted for another round of roller skating - this time with our friends "The Salas". Everyone thinks Ross and Jeff look like brothers. Sometimes they even show up wearing the same shirt!

Roller and ice skating

We had this great plan to take the girls roller skating on Saturday. Unfortunately, when we arrived at the skating rink, Emma slammed the car door on Ross's hand, totally crushing 2 fingers. He nearly passed out from the pain - but bless his heart - wanted to let us all go skating while he iced his hand ... his version of ice skating I guess. It was quite traumatic really, but we still made it a fun day. Daddy, meantime, has had an interesting challenge treating patients this week without the use of 2 fingers.

Surprise!

Grandma Lynn surprised us by driving here from California. She stayed for one week. Part of our adventure included a night out with the Williams family to see Zoo Lights.

Mini chef

Grandma Kern bought Elena her own apron for Christmas. She loves to wear it every time we cook dinner together.

New Year's Eve 2008

We were in bed by 10:30. Lame, yes. But we had a great time over at our friends The Stocks. The girls especially enjoyed doing "sprinklers", as Elena puts it.
