Sacrament meeting was interesting today. Boston found a McDonald's barbecue sauce in my purse (leftover from yesterday's healthy lunch). I did the back and forth fight with him for a bit and then he squeezed it - barbecue sauce went all over his face and shirt, barely missing the lady's pony tail in front of us. I asked the people behind us to watch the other 3 kids so I could run to the bathroom. I tried to clean it up but decided a new shirt was in order. We ran home, changed, and then I cracked open a Diet Pepsi and sat in the car for a bit before returning to the meeting. I just had to regroup.
The moral here is. . . do not keep barbecue sauce in your purse.

Goal Accomplished
This entry definetly classifies as "blog bragging" but feel okay about it because it was well earned.
Eric challenged Kennedy at the beginning of the summer to complete all her 4th grade workbooks (he purchased these at the bookstore) and read, Rich Dad, Poor Dad for Teens, and do a report on it. She worked really hard all summer and achieved her goal. The reward was a laptop of her own. Here is a picture of her laptop and a desk Eric spent his day off searching high and low for. He found it all on his own and put the whole desk and laptop station together to surprise her when she got home from school. She was so excited to see that her hard work paid off.

System Breached

My concern for safety has always been to keep the kids inside the house, not for anyone breaking in. Since the twins could walk, we have installed chains at every door, high enough so they can't reach it. Pretty wt looking but a necessary measure. Well . . . my system is no longer functioning properly. Kennedy just instructs one of the boys to get on their hands and knees while she stands on their back and wallah! They can open the door. I knew this day would come but thought it would only be when they were tall enough to open it themselves. Now hopefully if they get out the front door, they realize the scary world they're venturing into.

Happy Birthday Bossy!
2 years 3 of Boston's favorite things to do:
Baseball
Football
Basketball
3 of his favorite words or phrases:
yep
stupid head
I don't believe it!
3 of his favorite foods:
Chicken nuggets
Bagel toasted w/a slice of cheese
suckers
He's growing up way too fast but still likes me to rock him and sing, You are my Sunshine, and Rock-a-by-Baby. He can make the twins cry by calling them "Babies" and the rest of us cry by choking us with his brute strength. He's high energy and already walks like a confident jock. He knows who he is and knows where he's going. Watch out!

Sister's Weekend

Can you guess who is who?
Every year we try to have an official "sister's weekend" in our family. This includes sister-in-laws of course. We're lucky that we all get along and enjoy each other's company (at least from my perspective). This year we went to the thriving metropolis of Boise, ID. This served as a middle ground for everyone. There are 7 of us women all together but only 3 of us were able to make it this past weekend. I flew and arrived at noon (about 4 hours before my sister's, Jodi and Ashley) so I called the hotel to pick me up at the airport, checked in, pulled the drapes shut, and slept for 3 hours! I can hardly believe it myself. It was invigorating. I highly recommend it.
What did we do for two and half days with no interuptions? Shopped, shopped, shopped, ate whenever and whatever we wanted, saw a late movie - "The Women," and enjoyed pedicures. We didn't do anything wild and crazy except for try on this 70's pair of jeans. We're pretty tame these days. Oh, and we didn't brush our teeth the whole time. This is only because all 3 of us forgot toothpaste and the hotel was out of it. Then every time we left the hotel, we forgot to buy it. At least we were all in the same boat. Thank goodness for mouthwash and gum. We had lots of fun and relaxed and were already discussing where we're going to go next year. Hopefully everyone will be able to come next time as babies should be done nursing and no one is expected to be pregnant (especially not me). Ha! Ha!

Cherished moments
At the end of a long day, I'm always amazed at how innocent and sweet the kids are when they're asleep. Because my camera is in the shop for repairs, I don't have a picture of the twins sleeping but they like to sleep in the same twin bed together (they have their own) - SPOONING. It is a sight to see as they aren't 5 pound babies anymore. When they aren't in the same bed, they're in mine. They truly love each other and look out for one another. Leighton won't come out of the school until he sees Jackson coming out at the end of the day. I'm glad they have each other.
I did capture Boston napping a couple weeks ago. He's such a pretty sleeper. I think the older we get and the more wrinkles we acquire, a sleeping picture becomes pretty scary.

Shows

Kennedy is at the age where she loves to produce and star in shows (her own). The boys enjoy this as well. They got all dressed up in their previous Halloween costumes (Batman from 2 years ago and the motor cross from last year). I'm banning one-piece jumpsuits for them from now on. They were wrestlers for their part of the show. Kennedy sang and acted like Hannah Montana. I've been telling her since she was 2 years old I was going to send her to Hollywood because she's got the drama covered! I thought the red eyes were perfect for this occasion. Pictured with her is her friend Hannah Stipek (next door neighbor).
The cowboy get-up is Leighton's favorite. The vest is from Halloween when he was 2 years old and we just picked up the badge from Claimjumper a couple weeks ago. He agreed to take out the garbage for a week so he could have it.
