That's the best way to describe the past few weeks. I am just barely coming up for air.
Packed in a day and a half.
Did a little school shopping. The vest didn't make MY cut.
Spent a Sunday afternoon with our favorite hometeachers and their family. They fed us, showered the kids with gifts and made us rethink our decision. Hard to leave such amazing people.
Said goodbye to dear friends.
Mrs. Butler sent us on our way with treats for days.
We set up camp and in our rental home bringing an air mattress, blankets, TV and xbox. The basic necessities.
Enjoyed some leisure time with the Wallis kiddos, Hogan & Katelyn, at Sundance.
This is where I slept for most of the week - just me, a blanket and pillow and a ceiling fan.
The neighbors quickly made themselves at home on the air mattress and joined in the chaos.
I assisted Melinda in lifting Katelyn to clean the egg off the school. Boston may or may not have been involved.
We ran into friends from "home" at Seven Peaks. Boston was so happy to see Zak and Harley.
The truck loads of junk finally arrived. Eric drove the truck with the trailer attached and Brad and Pam drove Eric's truck with the trailer attached. We still had another pick up truck load in the garage in Henderson. I thought we were minimalists?
Boxes have many purposes. If I never have to see a moving box again, I would be a happy camper.
Boston knows everyone in the ward with a golf cart and works his angles.
Shannon, Melanie and Melinda joined me for an Ikea assembly party. We put together a wardrobe closet for the twins and shelf/headboard for Kennedy. Snacks were mandatory.
Boston is playing on a kid pitch team where he has played pitcher, 1st and 3rd base. He's hitting the ball well and having fun.
The twin's football season is well underway as they have their first game this Saturday. They are the Lone Peak Knights. Their blue and green cleats don't match very well but help to tell them apart.
We went back to Henderson this last weekend to tighten braces, smog the car, patch holes in the house and tie up lose ends. Boston really wanted to take Angelo to Chuck E. Cheese for his birthday and Friday night worked great. Kennedy found her new love with "Deal or No Deal." Sadie was right by her side too. They are gamblers at heart.
Wonderful friends put together a little "Audios Allyson" lunch at a Mexican restaurant and made sure to have them sing and embarrass me. They brought out a little tequila shot too and I wish I would've known so that I could've had them put water in the glass and drank it down. I declined the drink as I was driving. I am really bummed I didn't get a group picture. What was I thinking? So selfish of me. Friendship is part of healthy living for me and I love and adore all my friends. Thank you for joining in the "friendship celebration." I HATE goodbyes so it was more of a "see you later" vibe.
Dan and Sadie found a yummy all you can eat Sushi place and wanted to share it with us. I declined the all you can eat part as it's a waste of money when you only eat one roll (no raw fish for me). We love Dan & Sadie!
With chop sticks and Eric, anything is possible.
Pam snuck in a little facial for Kennedy as we were heading out of town. Kennedy and Boston also got haircuts with JayCee but I failed to take a picture of their fresh dews. We are going to miss JayCee and her magic scissors.
Leighton forgot to bring his shoes with him back to Vegas. He had to wear mine. They will never be the same. Who forgets to wear shoes?
Last night, at 9:30 pm, Boston had dinner after his baseball. It was the night before the first day of school and no one in our household got to bed before midnight. Whirlwind to say the least.
Kennedy started 9th grade today... in junior high. She was pretty nervous but all-in-all had a good day.
Boston is a big 2nd grader sporting bright blue Converse. They are the same size I wear. I just might borrow them. He had a great day and loves his new school.
Jackson is in 6th grade and made sure he got to pose all by himself. He weighs 20 pounds less than Leighton and talks less than Leighton too. He's hardly picking his nose anymore, something he's worked hard at.
Leighton is also in 6th grade, although not in the same class as Jackson. Leighton likes his roll as "politician" and was already bossing his class around in line this morning. I warned him that no one likes to be bossed around. Takes one to know one. I used to do a lot of bossing around to my siblings.
I am completely relieved to be sitting at a desk typing this with the moving process and decision to move behind us. We are looking forward and embracing change and all that comes with it.
Tomorrow I will be leisurely strolling at Target...
