March Madness

Jackson called from the school to let me know he ripped out his pants.  Says "things are growing" and insisted that I buy wranglers that have a U shape in the crotch.  This was the third pair of pants the twins ripped out in the same area.

Mike, Marie, Hannah and Preston were in town for a visit and we were able to go to a BYU Broadway Review and the Slab after for pizza.  It's always great to see family.

My parents stopped in on their way to spring training in Arizona.  My mom helped Kennedy create this pineapple masterpiece for young women's.  My mom always knows how to take things up a notch.

We enjoy any chance we can get to hang out on the couch and relax, especially with grandparents.

We bought/traded this 4 wheeler from my parents a couple months ago and they loaded it right back up on their way home from spring training.  The moving company won't move recreational vehicles.  They are such good troopers for taking it back.

Shannon helped me create this cute Relief Society poster for our birthday dinner and Super Saturday.  Shannon, like my mom, know how to take everything up a notch.

Boston tried this dress on and liked it a little too much.

Kennedy secured her drivers permit by passing the written test the first try.  The drive home was another story.  I was white knuckled the whole time . Kennedy says she's never driving again.

Notice the different style of push up?  We'll take what we can get.
Boston got really brave and cut 4 inches off.  He loves his new look. I am thinking it was a good move.

Boston had another baseball tournament in St. George.  The twins came with and Kennedy stayed home with the Wallis family.  Thank goodness for willing, wonderful friends.

A random lady came up to the boys at Arctic Circle and asked if we wanted her extra corn dog.  You would've thought they'd hit the jackpot.  I split it in two (grease oozed everywhere) and it was shared between these two.  Jackson said he could check another item off his bucket list:  "Getting a corn dog from a random person."

Leighton was not amused.

We spent time swimming with Boston's team and watching the Jackson and Leighton "crack" show.  These shorts were waaaay too small.  Board shorts are not in the cards.  They have to have stretch in the waste.

Boston always ready to pose.  He insisted I take this pic.  I'm glad I did because it's the only one I got in Shannon's town home.  Her and Dave were so generous to let us stay in their vacation home.  Finding a hotel in St. George during the spring is next to impossible.  I found out the hard way.

Boston played great with his first triple and lots of hits.  He also pitched and played first base.
They won their first two and lost their next two which meant they were done by Friday night (played on Thursday and Friday).  They had to win one more to be in the tournament Saturday.  This worked better for my schedule so I could be home for Kennedy's volleyball tournament Saturday and the twins could attend their final pow wow for stake scouts.  Sometimes I stress so much about how I'm going to make it all work and in the end, it all works out one way or another.

Eric has been gone most of March but came home last weekend for the twins birthday and to ordain them to the priesthood (next post).  We enjoyed a fun weekend trying out Moochie's and touring the church museum in downtown Salt Lake.

Eric joined Boston for Donuts with Dad.  Boston was so excited he could barely sleep the night before.  It's the little things that mean the most.

I peeled this from the twins wall the other day.  It can speak for itself and will sum things up for me.  March was full of madness but more fun.

12 YEARS OLD!

And 12 years old never looked so good!  When they were 2 years old, I couldn't imagine seeing this day and being sane:)  Happy Birthday Jackson and Leighton!

To say they were ecstatic about their gift would be an understatement.  They got their own iPhone!

I brought in a donut cake into their classroom to feed 38 and it lasted about 5 minutes.  They were very comfortable being front and center and lived it up.

Boondock's provided food, fun and entertainment for 12 boys and let Eric and I kick back and enjoy the celebration.

They even picked up the Costco cake.  Either I am getting lazy in my old age or wise...

Blowing the candles out was an ordeal.

You can't help but have a good time when Jackson and Leighton are around.

Sunday morning they were priesthood ready in their suits, white shirt and ties. They have been looking forward to wearing a suit every since they laid their eyes on one.  Leighton is wearing a 44 jacket with 36" waist pants in black with the blue tie and Jackson is wearing a 42 jacket with 36" waist pants in navy with the orange tie.  (Just in case no one can tell years from now.)

It was a beautiful blessing and ordination.  Always very heartfelt by Eric.  The boys were surrounded with loving hands and hearts - Shannon and Dave, Jason Moore, Brad and Sabrina, Mike and Melinda, Grandpa and Grandma Bateman, Daniel, Christian, and our bishopric.

We had everyone over for the full meal deal after.

And sang to the boys one more time.  They didn't seem to mind.

There is just something about these two that draw people in.  It's most likely the "we don't do anything normal" part but there's also the sweet spirit they instill. They are aware of the power they now hold and look forward to being able to use it to pass the sacrament and bless others around them.  My heart is full and grateful for the young men they are becoming but am also grateful they are still just 12 year old little boys.  I want to hold onto that as long as I can.
