(As you can tell, I am running out of creative titles to my posts.)
After being in the car for days on end, we were glad to be home celebrating the 4th with Big Daddy and his yummy cooking. We joined forced with our neighbors (The Hewett's) and had a feast! Eve made these amazing pies pictured below. Hands down the best pies we've eaten.
Friendswood City brought in the band Spazmatics to entertain us for the evening then the fireworks started right after. Such a great community we live in.
Last year the beach was filled with spikey sea weed so we were leary about going this summer. We were pleasantly surprised when it was sea weed free. We didn't realize we were getting a serious beach when we moved to Houston.
It wouldn't be summer without baseball around these parts. Boston couldn't wait to play in the Big League Dreams stadium. They are designed after actual professional baseball ball parks.
His team placed 2nd at this tournament and did a phenominal job for a team that is meshing with a few new players. I see big things in the future for this team.
Kennedy went to Louisianna for girl's camp but these are the only pictures I was able to round up. I wasn't there and Kennedy said she spent most of the day "working" and didn't even have time to take pictures. It was hot, humid and sticky mixed with a little fun.
Jackson kissing these cletes goodbye. They were $129 and I just couldn't justify that expense when he will outgrown them in a season.
The twins and their buddy Landon along with our neighbor Alina on one of our chaotic summer outings to Chick Fil-A and the bank. After this ride, Landon (who is one of 8 children), had to go home and find some peace and quiet.
More baseball. They won this tournament.
Dress like a cow day at Chick Fil-A. What we will do for free food.
The kids and I had such a fun time with a bunch of other families at a place called Mo Ranch. It's about 5 hours from our house toward and past San Antonio. We floated on a river, swung off a rope swing, rode a wooden slide into the river, played volleyball, basketball, hiked, ate, played cards and had a good old fashioned might fine time. The kids even got a little muddy.
The mud pit gaga ball champ.
Boston and I were able to fly out to Las Vegas to spend some much needed time with Sadie and the kids and get my invisalign attachments removed and my final retainer made. I priced out what it would cost to get it done here (I already paid for it in Henderson) and decided it was cheaper to fly to Vegas than start here. Happy we could make it all work.
These two are best buddies no matter what size they are.
We also snuck in a dinner with girlfriends (forgot to get a picture but it was so fun to see friends that I miss and admire) and met Grace and Kari for yogurt and were also able to reminisce with Brad & Pam over dinner. We miss our Henderson friends/family and were grateful to spend some time to see them.
Our house has a revolving door and there are constantly kids in and out (I am sure all that was redundant). That's okay. I am glad they are all comfortable in our home and that our kids have friends.
A little gym time and these two are starting to step it up. They said they were maxing out. Someday there will be ALOT more weight on that bar when they max out.
Getting creative with lipstick and nerf guns.
Boston's friend Jack invited him to a Dynamo soccer game. I didn't even know who the Dynamo were. Boston had a great time. I am constantly in awe of the caliber of families that surround us - good, people raising good families.
Eric the assistant scout master and a few of his troop heading to scout camp at Camp Constantine. Scouting is SO MUCH work but worth it. The boys are well on their way to getting their Eagle. Hopefully by next summer.
Eric came home from scout camp with this gem. An allergic reaction to a bandaid. Before Eric left for scout camp, he had a few bites on his leg so I put some ointment on them and bandaids. The bandaid stayed on this one the whole time (a week) and when he took it off, this is what it looked like. I thought for sure he had mersa (had a bad case of strep throat right before scout camp) but turns out it was just an allergic reaction. It took a couple weeks to look normal again.
And I will end on that lovely note. August post is just around the corner:)
