Mardi Gras in Spokane

So, being originally from Slidell, Louisiana--I love Mardi Gras--well, the eating part of it! I have been making a king cake and gumbo for Eric every Mardi Gras for the past few years....and this year, we decided to have a cajun meal with our "northern" friends-who don't have much of a clue what Mardi Gras is. We had a great time with jambalaya (compliments of our friend Rory-from Alaska), french bread and a king cake.

Matt and Laura's Visit

Coeur d'Alene, Idaho - on the floating dock
at the top of Mt. Spokane
Mt. Spokane
the Harrison brothers

Matt and Laura were able to come and visit Spokane for a long weekend. We showed them around Spokane a little bit and were able to go skiing. It ended up being sunny weather and the visability at the mountain was great! We were also able to go to Coeur d'Alene and walk around downtown, eat lunch and have the famous huge dessert at the resort. We had a wonderful time just hanging out! It was a short visit, but hopefully they will be able to come and visit again--maybe when it is warmer next time!
