2 more milestones for Miss Addelyn

In the past week or so, Addelyn has been rolling like a champ and sitting up unsupported (she is still a little bit shaky, so we sit behind her or close by). The other night I was in the kitchen and she was playing on the floor in the family room - all of the sudden I hear her start fussing and walked in to see her stuck underneath the couch - of course I had to grab the camera and she wasn't too happy about it! I have heard my sisters talk about how their kids would get stuck - and now it has happened to Adde. We always have to put a blanket under her because of the floors - but we keep hearing her head "thud" on the hard floor - oops!!!
She looks like so much older sitting up by herself! I love the tub picture!
"get me outta here!!!!"
such a big girl!!!!

Christmas week

We had a wonderful Christmas week. Addelyn and I went to a cookie swap and decorating party with some friends from church on Tuesday - and had a great time! Christmas Eve we went over to Lani's parents house for an amazing Italian meal! We had a wonderful time and learned a new card game - hand and foot! Christmas morning we opened presents and enjoyed our family time - Addelyn was hilarious reaching for all of the presents to tear open and eat the paper! :) Thank you for all of the gifts!!!
That afternoon we headed over to the Wisdom's house for another amazing meal! We spent the rest of the day at their house and had a wonderful time hanging out! Addelyn got in a pool for the first time Christmas day-she seemed to like it-and LOVED splashing! The rest of the weekend we just relaxed and spent time together - we missed being with family for the holiday, but are WELL-taken care of by our "family" here in Washington! I know I have said this so many times before, but we are so blessed with amazing friends here!
Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! Now, we are gearing up for 2009!!!!

Merry Christmas from the Harrisons!!!!

I am a procrastinator this year and didn't get Christmas cards sent out!!! oops!
(thank you so much Katey for making these)
We love the cards we have gotten from all of you- thank you so much for sending them!!!!
Have a wonderful Christmas.

SLEDDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This past weekend was my first time to sled!! I was so excited! Friday and Saturday afternoons we went with our FABULOUS neighbors (the Kennells) and Saturday night we went with our small group from church! Friday I was NOT prepared for the "hard core" sledding we were doing - so Saturday, I had my face mask, ski goggles and many layers! Here are some pictures from Saturday afternoons - the pictures from that night didn't turn out too well because it was so dark -but we had a great time with our small group!!!!
I hope the snow stays for a long time so we can keep on sledding!!!!!
If you can't tell, we had a WONDERFUL TIME!!!
they were flying down the hill
this picture makes me laugh - Rob's face is covered with snow -
keep in mind the temperature is about 10!
all bundled up
that is Eric stomach down - he had just gotten done sledding down the hill-with no sled!

a "can't miss" book

One of my dearest friends, Rachel, sent Addelyn a package for Christmas. Inside, were a few precous outfits and this book. I have never heard of it and at first, just glanced through it. Friday night I read it to Addelyn and I could not get through it without crying. I felt so silly that I was tearing up and Addelyn had no clue what was going on...ha! She just stared at me! I guess I never expected to get emotional when reading a book to Addelyn - no matter how sweet it was...what has happened to me??? :) I HIGHLY recommend this book to any parent. This is definitely a book I will treasure for always - thank you so much Rachel!!!

pictures from today...

Last night we got another good snow-(not the 20 inches that Spokane got yesterday, but enough for us!) After Addelyn got up from her nap-I got her bundled up and we headed out again to see how pretty everything is all white. I am dying to "play" in it but there is only so much you can do with a 6 month old in the snow! :) At least she doesn't mind being outside in the cold.
I think we may have a white Christmas! Whoo hooo!!!
about to go outside - Nonie-we opened Addelyn's stocking stuffer early-sorry...but thank you - we love it!!! :)
sweet smile
I love the tree behind her all covered

Eric - we wish you were here to play in the snow with us!!
I feel like she is thinking "ok mom, let's go inside now-it's cold"
this cracked me up-I got her "snow gear" off at the front door and looked down and just laughed-I love her little boots and gloves by our stuff...boy have things changed!

the latest OBU Circle

to all you "OBUers" - that isn't Addelyn's picture in the newest Circle! Ha! The picture of Addelyn says she is Grayson Thomas! oh well-just wanted to clarify! :)

Addelyn is on Santa's "nice" list!

We went to visit Santa yesterday...Addelyn didn't fuss - but she wasn't too sure about him - she just STARED the entire time! It was cute! I imagine next year won't go this smoothly! :) I love the picture of her looking at him - so sweet!

SNOW!!! SNOW!!! SNOW!!!

Ok-many of you know that I LOVE SNOW!!! Kennewick doesn't get half as much snow as Spokane does so I have been dying for it to snow since it got cold here! Sunday we woke up to a couple of inches of snow and it continued to snow until Monday - but the temperatures are still dropping-right now it is only 3 degrees outside - burrrr!!! But we are suppose to get more snow tomorrow and Thurday-whooo hoooo!!! I couldn't wait to get home from church and play a little bit. We bundled Addelyn all up and went out to play - she really didn't mind the cold and just smiled and laughed - the cold wind kept taking her breath away-ha! :) I guess she had better get used to it! Here are a few pictures form Adde's first snow!!!

I think we both love the snow!!! look at that sweet smile!
"I can't put my arms down!!!"

Buddy and Juju's visit

This past weekend Buddy and Juju came to visit us! They haven't seen Addelyn since she was a week old. Unfortunately, the visit was shorter than we had expected because of a cancelled flight and many delayed flights after that - but at least they made it! We didn't do too much while they were here but visit with each other and play with Addelyn. Saturday we went to a model train display and out to eat to celebrate Juju's birthday - we were planning on going to the Christmas boat parade on the river but it was WAY TOO COLD and yucky weather. Sunday - we woke up with a lot of snow! yah!!!! so Addelyn was able to see her "first big snow" - which was a lot of fun....Eric and I were able to go on a date that night too - thanks Buddy and Juju!!! Monday we went to the mall to visit Santa (pictures to come) and ate at our FAVORITE place - Red Robin. Addelyn loved seeing Buddy and Juju and I think they enjoyed her too! :)
Thank you so much for coming to see us...we had such a wonderful time with y'all!!!!
it's snowing!!!!!!
all bundled up - ready to get out in the cold!

6 months old

Happy half birthday Addelyn! Yet another month has passed...
It's hard to believe she is already 6 months old - God has blessed us in so many ways, but mostly because of our sweet daughter! We are so thankful! I feel like I can't say this enough!
This morning was Addelyn's 6 month check up-she had 3 more shots but did so well! She only cried briefly after she realized what had happened and then started smiling again - so sweet!
Here are her 6 month stats:
weight: 15 lbs 11 oz (50%)
height: 25 1/2 inches (25-50%)
head: 41.91 cm (25-50%)

some new things she is doing lately:
+ sitting up by herself - very BRIEFLY
+ she actually rolled last night (whooo hoooo)-from tummy to back - it looked like it just
"clicked" and she did it over and over - just 2 months after she first rolled-ha! -she just doesn't
seem to interested
+ has consonant sounds when she "talks"
+ loves to stick her feet in her mouth-after every nap I find her socks by her head and all wet
with slober! :)
+ she started to wave this past weekend - it is not on a regular basis but we are working on it
+ she loves music-always has, but if we put her in her swing without the music on-she will fuss
until we turn it on and then is very content!
+ so much fun-she has quite the personality - I told Eric last night-every day she seems to be
more fun that the day before
+ still not much hair-but she is working on it! :)
everything goes right in Addelyn's mouth!

giving her bear love
Addelyn loves Glacier the bear
(can you tell Eric named him - after Glacier National Park - where
Eric and I both saw his first bear)

music to our ears....

Sorry this video is so dark again! This is Addelyn's new things she does a lot! It makes us crack up when she wakes up from her nap and we hear her in her crib just squealing!

Addelyn eats pumpkin

I just got finished feeding Addelyn her first veggie - PUMPKIN!!! She LOVED it-it was much different than feeding her rice cereal-she doesn't seem to be too fond of that but she couldn't get enough pumpkin. By the time she was done eating, she had it everywhere-including up her nose! ha!
I LOVE PUMPKIN!!!!

this past weekend

On Saturday we raked leaves with our small group and another small group from a church in town. It was a beautiful day and we were able to rake 3 yards. I felt a bit useless because I had Addelyn and it was hard to rake and carry her around! We had a great time getting to know the people in our small group better and meeting new people from another church. We are so blessed to be in a small group with such a wonderful people. Here are a few pictures from Saturday and also a couple more from our relaxing weekend at home. Shannon with some of the kiddos from the other small group
