weekend with friends

Last weekend our PT friends, Kim and Rory, came to visit from Moscow, Idaho. We hadn't seen them since the fall...so it was a great time hanging out! We all went to eat on Friday night, Lani and Kim came to my Body Pump class Saturday morning, the boys went and played golf and we had a cookout Saturday afternoon at David and Lani's house! A fun filled weekend with great friends!!!

daily life...

Life got a little too busy here for a few months...so my goal is to slow things down until baby boy arrives. I've decided to not be committed to as many things, have less play dates, keep the house is better "order," spend more time at home, and ultimately spend more time with Miss Addelyn. Here are some of the things we do on a regular basis...

play with stuffed animals (notice the new Dora shirt-Addelyn's babysitter brought it to her after she went to Florida for Spring break...Addelyn LOVES wearing it to bed...and tells us "baif" (aka Faith) gave it to her...so sweet! She LOVES Faith!

the weather has been GREAT lately-this was the first day that we wore short sleeves with NO JACKET - we spend so much time outside on a daily basis...and Addelyn usually has bubbles in her hand...

or she is on the swing - we took down the baby swing because she loves the big kid swing so much...she always says "push please high" - what a little dare devil

"chick day"

Last Saturday Eric was helping a friend, so Addelyn and I decided to go to a local feed store for their annual "chick day." The store had animals EVERYWHERE for kids to come pet and hold. Addelyn had a great time looking at the animals and petting them. She did a lot of giggling! :) We will definitely have to make this an annual event for our family.

Addelyn wanted to put "bows" on Mickey's ears...she thinks everyone needs a "bow" including Eric. I had to explain to her last week that boys don't wear bows...only girls! :) So cute!!!!

big girl bed = SUCCESS!!!

Addelyn started climbing out of her bed a couple of weeks ago...after going back and forth and talking to others, we decided that instead of training her to stay in her crib, we would just change her bed to a big girl bed and train her to stay in there! :) To be honest with you, I wasn't ready for my sweet Addelyn to get into a BIG GIRL bed...it just makes me sad! But I must let her grown up! :) Saturday morning, Eric took off the front of her crib and added the toddler rails. We decided to try it during naptime...I sat in the room next door and watched on the video monitor. She got out of bed only 2 times...and I think she was just really confused about what was going on...it did take her 1 1/2 hours to go to sleep..but SHE DID IT!! She has done an EXCELLENT job in her new bed...she has only gotten out like 4 times TOTAL in the past week, only fallen out of bed 1 time (the first time she slept in there), and is still taking good naps!! We are SO PROUD of her! After she wakes up, she just plays in bed for a while and waits for us to come in her room...the moment we walk in, she jumps down and can't wait to get out of bed! GO CUBS!!!

As most of your know, Addelyn Ryne was named after Ryne Sandberg...Eric's favorite Chicago Cubs player...so opening day of Cubs baseball is a big deal around here!!! Here is Addelyn today sporting her cubs shirt(she was not going to smile for the camera!!! ha!)...everytime she sees a Cubs logo..she says "Go Bubs!!" It's so cute!
