ooops...not what we had intended to happen!

Saturday night, we had some friends over for dinner. It was so pretty outside, so we just set up a table and ate the yummy chicken Eric had grilled. As I was inside getting things prepared and Eric was outside grilling, the kiddos found the last water hole from our crazy amounts of rain. It was in the very back corner of the yard...once we figured out it had been discovered, it was WAY TOO LATE! 3 out of the 4 kiddos were sopping wet and covered in mud and debris. They had the time of their lives rolling around in it, splashing each other and getting down right dirty! :)

rainy day cookies

Last week during one of our many rainy days...we decided to make chocolate chip cookies! I let the kiddos pretty much do them all by themselves--with a few exceptions! It was a box mix for kids that had directions and pictures that you mark off after completing...they loved it!

outdoor fun with friends

Sunday afternoon after nap time, we headed over to a state park about 30 minutes away where some friends had been camping for the weekend. They invited a few families out to eat dinner and just let the kiddos run around. So much fun...all of the kiddos had a blast exploring, playing on the playground, riding bikes and just being kids-and us adults got to visit and enjoy the outdoors!

Brenda has been trying to "connect" with Payne-he's a rascal around people-but the moment she started giving him chocolate...he was kissing her and hugging her and they are officially buddies! :)
