Aiden this morning at breakfast...
Aiden - "Mom, Did you know that your food squeezes down your asparagus to your stomach?"
Me - "No, I did not know that. I thought it went down your esophagus (sp)."
Aiden - Big Smile. "Oh, yeah that too!"

Family News
On March 24th I found out the reason I have been feeling so cruddy lately. I am diabetic. Huge shocker for me! I was pretty mad at first - And I still have moments when I just want to throw the towel in! But I am determined to learn from this trial!
Over the last 4-6 months, I have just been increasingly tired and feeling like I had sugar swelling around my face. As the months progressed, I started to have "glitter" in my eyes, thirsty constantly and never feeling satisfied, then started the having to go pee every 30 minutes - even at night! I knew something was wrong, but being stubborn as I am didn't go to the doctor. Then I ended up getting a bladder infection that lasted too long, with migraine symptoms - weird combo I know! I decided to go to the doc. He fixed me up with some drugs and sent me home.
I went back 10 days later, because I wasn't feeling any better - and the vision continually was getting worse. I was asked to take a fasting blood test... I found out 2 days later that the test came back at 380! I had no idea what that meant. But soon found out that it was an alarmingly high number! I ofcourse got outfitted with a meter and testing strips - the first reading at home that night was over 500! So now I knew why I felt like I had sugar floating around my eyes!!! I did! Normal range is between 70 and 120!
Over the next weeks that followed, my eyesight continually got worse. I no longer could read anything, and I was now guessing at where my fingers were when cutting up veggies and fruits. I could not drive for about 2 1/2 weeks. We were so blessed that Stephen was able to take off any time he needed to take me to the doctors and run errands to the store and such. His chief was very understanding... what a relief!
I feel blessed that I do know how to regulate the things that I eat, and stay on a pretty healthy diet. It has been 3 weeks and my numbers are now in the 100's. I have tons more energy! We also went to the eye doc and he gave me some temporary contacts (like little magnifying glasses). There is no permanent damage to my eyes, it just will take my eyes much longer to get the over dose of sugars out. It can take up to 3 or 4 months with numbers as high as mine. What a relief to be able to read again to my kiddos!
My kids have even joined the fun! They tested their blood using my meter, and have taken turns giving me my Insulin shot. One of the setbacks of Insulin is that it will also make you go into Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) so my kids know where to find the glucose tablets. I do not want them to be afraid of all the things mom has to do.
We are not sure exactly which type I am, the doctors say that I am kindof a mix between type 1 and 2. Hopefully as more tests are run we will get a more definite answer.
I am grateful to have a loving Heavenly Father who can give me the strength to continue enduring to the end! Much love to you all!

Easter
Saturday night the Easter Bunny (aka Mom) came and left this poem for the kids.
Treston Aiden Kailea
Happy Easter
I was told
You are getting old!
Six, five and three
How can this be?
Trying each day so bright
To choose the right!
Heavenly Father and Jesus
do say “You please us!”
Please remember this Easter day
As RESURRECTION day!
Please do listen,
Jesus has risen!
As a special helper for Jesus, I spread cheer to all the good little boys and girls.
I have fun hiding Easter eggs just for you to find.
Jesus loves you! Keep choosing the right!
Can you find the empty egg? Do you know why it’s empty?
I am not the best poet, but the kids thought it was fun! They then hunted for the eggs, and found the empty egg and we had a little lesson on the importance of the empty tomb.
I believe in God the Eternal Father, in His son Jesus Christ and in the Holy Ghost!
March Babies
Happy Birthday Aiden and Kailea!
Kailea and Aiden are my March babies. Aiden turned the big 5 on March 9th.
Kailea turned 3 on March 8th.
Kailea is such a cute, wonderful, trying, energetic, emotional, fun, very loving little girl who LOVES to dance. She asks me all the time if she can go to dance class! She loves girly things, and will sit perfectly still for long periods of time so that mommy can fix her hair like a princess!
Any time she hears music - she quickly changes into her cleanest princess dress. We are so blessed to have such a sweet, strong-willed little girl in our home. She keeps us all in line!
We love you Kailea!
March - Sightseeing
Me, Stephen, Mom, Tom and Josh
Stephen lookin' like a gangsta man! We got to act like honeymooners for a day - NO KIDS! Yeah! Thanks to our good friends the Canadays for taking on the challenge to keep the kids for more than 12 hours! Whew! Wears me out even thinking about it! :-)
February and March
February and March were great months for us. We had visitors!!! My mom, Grandmamma, came to visit for a whole month. We had good fun. We hiked, went to the beach, and had fun working on the house. We always do fun fix-up projects when she comes to visit. I am so grateful for my wonderful mom and the time she takes out of her life to come and visit us! We love you mom! Thank you!
The end of February, My mother & father -in-law came to visit, along with Uncle Josh. We had fun seeing all the sights. This was their first time here, so we did all the sightseeing. And had lots of yumm-o food. While they were here, Stephen was called to be 2nd Counselor in the Bishopric. What a wonderful experience to have mom and dad here to witness this great occasion. We sure do love you Mom and Tom and Josh! We are so happy you were able to come see us! Thank you!

Treston turns 6!!!
He wanted a red race car... so his race number is T6! What a wonderful son! I can't believe he is 6 years old! Wow! Time does fly! I am so proud of the young man he is becoming. I am proud of his great attitude toward learning. He is already sure that being six means he can do so many more things. He is sure that he will be cooking dinner for us often! So fun!
Sleepy little lady!
Here, she had just come down and told me she needed a game to play, I finished up what I was doing, and I turned to ask her what game she wanted to play... and this is what I found! It was only 6:45 at night.
Here she had gone to play soccor with us, she had kicked that ball up and down the field so much. She must have just tuckered herself out! She fell asleep on the ride home... in the bike caccoon.
