Over Night

Some developments seem to happen gradually while others seem to just happen over night. Out of nowhere it seems like Kennedy's attention span has grown leaps and bounds. It was a rare occasion for her to ever sit still for a significant period of time. Now she is so good at entertaining herself with her toys. It is so fun for me to watch her creativity in action. She will also sit down and watch a Sesame Street episode while I do the dishes and she won't budge. Amazing. Here's some cute pics of her calmness with her daddy.

Cute Kiddies

Can I just say I love little girls? We went to the park today with some other moms and kids in our ward and as soon as we got out of the car, Katelynn wanted to hold Kennedy's hand. It was so cute. Kennedy was so excited.....she was squealing. I've been lucky in that she has always loved other little kids. Recently when we have play dates she will be sure to go up and try to hug each of the children. Don't know where that came from, but I sure love it! What a sweetheart.

Hide and Seek

For a few weeks now Kennedy has loved to crawl behind our furniture with her toys and sit there and play, periodically coming out to play "Peek-a-boo". She also likes to go inside our closets and close the doors and do the same thing. Apparently she values her privacy and loves being sneaky. :)

Now for a little twist to the whole hiding idea. Tonight when I told Kennedy it was time to go to bed I watched as she pulled her high chair away from the wall and proceeded to slyly position herself behind it. Can't help but think she knows what she's doing! :) James and I got a good laugh out of that one.

Sorry Ken, you're cover is blown! :)

Happy Easter

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter Sunday! Here's Kennedy in her Easter dress. I decided to steer away from pink and found this adorable dress for a ridiculous price at TJ Maxx. We added the white sweater since it's still too cool to go sleeveless. Best part is that the dress should last all summer long! The Easter Bunny brought Kennedy her very first baby doll. When she saw it on the kitchen counter she got so excited. She loves to carry her around everywhere and give her hugs and kisses. I have even spotted her trying to give her pacifier to her baby and taking the baby's hands and clapping them. I love to see her sweet nurturing in action. :)

Clever Girl

I don't know if this was intentional, but either way, we thought it to be hilarious. Recently Kennedy has started to express her opinion when we tell her it's time to go to bed. Normally she has just started to run away from us with a devious smile on her face, but tonight, she had a stroke of genius. The video below should explain it all. :)

Sleeping Angel

Is there anything more precious? :) On rare occasions Kennedy likes to take a super long morning nap. When she does I get to go in and watch her sleep for a few minutes before waking her up in an effort to maintain her routine. Makes my heart melt. :)

Teeth Update

I've been trying to get a picture of Kennedy's teeth forever now and I finally managed to capture a couple shots. (It's rare that I can get her to smile big enough for the camera to show off her pearly whites.) She now has a total of four teeth. Two on top and two on bottom right in front. She's getting in her teeth on either side of her top two but they seem to be taking forever to break through. Lucky us. :)

And thanks to Nana for getting Kennedy a cute pink toothbrush for Christmas. She absolutely LOVES brushing her teeth!

She's Walking

In the past month Kennedy has really mastered walking. She doesn't crawl anymore except to go up or down steps/stairs. She loves cruising around. It's been perfect timing now that the weather is starting to warm up. We go out to a big lawn area in our complex in the afternoons and it's so nice that she can walk around and play with the other kids. The first video I took of her on March 1st when she was just starting to get the hang of it. The second video is from March 14th.....notice I'm bribing her to follow me with goldfish. It was the only way I could get her to follow me. This independent little girl loves to roam, but typically only where she wants, when she wants. :) Church is pretty much a disaster now.......4 more months and we can send her to Nursery.....Hallelujah! :)

Love this Jacket

I had to post a picture of this super adorable jean jacket. Thanks Aunt Shala for getting this for Kennedy so many months ago! She can finally wear it and it's by far my favorite item in her wardrobe right now. LOVE IT!

Murphy's Law

I am a believer in the importance of "Opposition in all things". However, why does it always seem to happen at the most inopportune times?!? My little family of three has the flu. Or maybe a severe case of the cold virus because we've all been lucky to keep our food down thus far. However, I haven't been able to eat anything but toast and apple juice with an occasional orange here and there. Evidence of Murphy's law.....why is it that when you're sick and probably in the most need of some good nourishment, you can't stomach to eat anything substantial? But here's the real kicker, due to this untimely sickness I had to miss a baby shower I was very much looking forward to AND one of my best friend's flew to Utah from Tennessee to bless her baby on Sunday and I had to miss out! Oh how I wanted to be selfish and go. I've been dying to meet her adorable little boy (proof here). But as a mother myself, I knew I couldn't live with exposing any of them. So, yes you can join with me, "Woe is me." :) I'm one that likes to look on the positive side of things and I'll admit, it sure is hard when you're sick. But I've forced myself to find two things: Kennedy was more cuddly yesterday than the last 9 months combined and she slept like an angel (Thank heavens my prayers were answered!). Her temperature has come down and she seems to be feeling much better today. Hopefully James and I will catch up with her soon. Hope you are all enjoying good health!
