RANDOM JANUARY HAPPENINGS

*We laughed at Koda as he was into EVERYTHING one day. He kept getting Kaylee's shoe no matter where she put it. Then he got the OTHER shoe and started. He's funny to watch. He went after my pepsi, the comics, my camera, the doggie poop bags, everything! He had his little surgery ...so that's been a little challenging to watch so he doesn't lick in the wrong spot. We also feed him pain meds in a little syringe tube that he LOVES. And I love because I give them to him at 7am and then he falls back asleep with me for a couple of hours.

*We got 4 inches on Wed morning. On my way up to SLC--it rained all day...but about 5:00 Wed night...wowee....we're were in a blizzard (a real one...as opposed to that fake one they predicted last month). We probably have at least another couple of inches..but the wind is whipping it around fiercely. We hunkered down once everyone got home and didn't go anywhere on Thursday. Except Garrin of course. He was going down that hill by Bishop Dixon's house and was going very slow...I think he said like 5-10mph and when he went to turn right....he slid and almost went into the ravine. He got stuck in the snow and a truck was right behind him and pulled him out. When I woke up Thurs....I was SOOO glad that I didn't have to be to work that day!!

*So.....don't know if it was because of the fog---or talking to so many kids over the loudness of the music---but started losing my voice Wed night after Kaylee's birthday party at Classic Skating. By Thursday it was GONE and I was really tired all day and didn't feel good. So...I kind of slept in, and sat around the house until the girls got home---just resting and reading mostly. Had to do a bunch of errands after that. I wasn't sure how I would work with no voice on Friday---but got to work and had a tiny voice. I asked someone to trade me jobs as I was suppose to be on phones...and I knew my voice wouldn't last the day on there!

*Koda keeps coming over and laying on me while I'm trying to type. He puts his head on my hand while I'm typing and I can't type. I throw his chew stick (to get him off of me) and he runs and gets it and jumps back up and settles on my chest where I can't see to type. We move him over to Garrin, he comes back over on me...it's funny. Guess he wants me today.

*So a funny GREAT thing we did Garrin and I were exhausted and when I was at Petsmart earlier this week---I saw something called "Bark Off". It's suppose to send a high pitched noise that the dog doesn't like when you turn it on and they bark. We were so tired of him barking after we put him in his kennel at night after taking him out to go to the bathroom. He was waking up a minimum of 3 times (including the last one about 5:30 am when I was getting up). We had decided that we were no longer sitting up with him after taking him out to the bathroom---so we just put him back in his cage and he would bark for about 45 min before settling back down, then a few hours later---he'd be up barking again. We had been doing this "bark it out" for a week. We were so tired!!! He just wasn't settling in...so I decided to buy it---sent Shawnee there on her way home from work. You would not BELIEVE how that thing works!!!! He barked a couple of times..then kind of whined...then tiny yelps...then....silence!!! Wow. A few hours later...ONE bark...then nothing. Garrin got him up after 6 hours and took him out---put him in---and NOTHING. SILENCE!!!! it's been that way ever since. We put him down 9 on week night and 11 on weekends and he goes right to sleep. He wakes up ONCE 6 hours later---we quickly take him out and put him back---and silence...and for us...SLEEP!! It's awesome!

*We went last night and did baptisms. It was an Elder's Quorum activity. Jaycee has a couple of more months before she can go----so she had to stay home alone. She wasn't too happy about that. She doesn't like to be home alone at night. She ended up having a few friends over so that she wasn't scared. I did 4 names that were family names..and the girls did other names. It was really nice. Jaycee and Kaylee went and worked at the shop yesterday and then Dad and I did a bunch of errands. So a pretty typical Saturday.

Kaylee's 16th Birthday Party

We had a combined birthday party for Kaylee and Courtney who both turned 16! I had to work today 6:30-3 and Kaylee's party started at 5:30 so we needed to leave Lehi at 4:40 to get to Sandy to Classic Skating and set up. Just as I was leaving work--someone at work got bad news and was in the back sobbing Well....how do you leave during THAT??? We got to Classic just about right to hurry and put up a few decorations around our table and kids starting coming. We had pizza from 5:30-6 and then they could skate, bounce, lazer tag, or go into the blast zone. I think we had about 31 kids show up out of the 42 we invited. Then we also had our families there (including Kiera and Shawnee's friend Karissa). It was split with us and the Bartholomews so they invited all 18 of the church kids their age. Most of the time we just sat at the food table (hard when you are on a diet!!!) or played cards with the Bartholomews. We had the pizza, cake, cookies, chips. We didn't get home until about 10. We had lots of fun!

Kaylee's License!!!

Kaylee's bday today so I traded shifts with Tiffany so I could get off earlier and take her to get her driver's license. I had to leave here at 5;30 to be able to get to TOSH by 6....yikes!!! Was suppose to be off at 2;30 and pick Kaylee up by 3....but by 2:30 when I was suppose to leave--it got really really busy. At 3 I finally said...I'm sorry but I HAVE to go and I got up and walked out. Anyway---ran home and got Kaylee and got back to the DMV about 3:45. It was so easy (but had to wait a loooooong time). So.....she is official!!! I let her drive to Smith's alone that night to get chips for her party the next day. Scary!!!

It's Like A New Baby......

Poor Koda got a haircut this week and they SKINNED him. He looks so tiny. I dropped off a cute puppy...and picked up a skinny RAT. He's been going out in the snow lots and seem to like it but comes back in just shivering and wet. We got about 3 inches of snow last night so Garrin was out shoveling this morning and he went out with him. Kate and Enoch came over to play with him. Enoch kept chasing him and barking---it was funny. I finally went outside and got Koda....he was soooo grateful to be inside.

Jaycee and I are starting obedience classes with him not this week but next. That should be interesting. Jaycee has been working with him and he can "sit" on command....and now is working on "stay". Last night it was 12:30am and we finally got to sleep. Koda had been barking his head off for a long time. We just started 2 nights ago to let him "bark it out" after he gets up to go to the bathroom. He's been waking us up a lot at night and then Dad has to stay up with him for 15 or more minutes and get him settled in. So this is the new plan...hope it works. First night worked like a charm....2nd night...last night...not so much. He was still up at 3:30, 5:30 and 7:30. UGH...just like a new baby! lol

During Family prayer---Koda likes to curl up on your legs

Kaylee got a blue stripe in her hair this week.

A New Diet

So it was a WARM (not!) 7 degrees last night....we are freezing!!! We got a lot of snow this week....so it's just hanging around and making us colder :)

Shawnee had a big party here. She was suppose to have like 17 people here, but only 8 showed up. That was ok. Garrin and I were banned to our bedroom to watch a movie. HA. Kaylee went to a friend's house. Jaycee stayed home with us. Dad and I also ate out at Cafe Rio. I'm starting a new "diet" /healthy way of eating and it's WAAAAAY strict. I can only eat their meals. While I"m losing weight---NO rice, pasta, potatoes, fruit, bread, nothing like that at ALL. Hope I survive it!!! So....the next night we ate out at our other favorite place---Whistle Wok. HA. Had to get it all in before I cant. I'm going to try for 3 months to be really good and get this weight off...so no eating out for me! Here's my BRAVE before picture!

We were cleaning up the Christmas decorations and Jaycee decided to try on the tree skirt.

We laughed at Koda as he was into EVERYTHING. He kept getting Kaylee's shoe no matter where she put it. Then he got the OTHER shoe and started. He's funny to watch. he went after my pepsi, the comics, my camera, the doggie poop bags, everything! And I love because I give them to him at 7am and then he falls back asleep with me for a couple of hours.

Well...we woke up to a good 4 inches on last Wed morning. Chalice and Jhonny and the kids stayed with us on their way home to Texas. They spent Christmas with Gma and Gpa Ellis. We were watching the weather as it was suppose to be bad weather. I left the house at 5:45 am to get to work on time....once I got over point of the mountain it was a breeze. I told Chalice they should leave then too...so they did. They had to got through Price canyon. It took them 2 hours--but they made it through ok. Up my way in SLC--it rained all day...but about 5:00 Wed night ...wowee....we were in a blizzard (a real one...as opposed to that fake one they predicted last month). We probably have at least another couple of inches..but the wind is whipping it around fiercely. We hunkered down once everyone got home and didn't go anywhere on Thursday. Except Garrin of course. He got stuck in the snow and a truck was right behind him and pulled him out. When I woke up Thurs....I was SOOO glad that I didn't have to be to work that day!!! Everyone had to work 6am-2pm because we were closing early for the holiday--and the roads were soooo nasty---I would not have made it there anywhere close to being on time!
