the week after my birthday on friday, my cell surprised me with a birthday cake
i was rushing back to the science canteen to meet them for cell group (which i thought there was) from my project meeting, then there i was talking to sally and sarah was behind preparing the cake and i didnt even notice, probably cause it was alr a week after..
so yea, thanks guys, after that we headed over to the sun bistro next to uhc and ate there..
the food there is not bad, but it's quite a huge portion.
+ it's in sch, we were wondering how they can survive since the prices were not that cheap,
but they had like student prices, but since it was still chinese new year, they didnt have. + people from outside go in there to eat too..

chinese new year is over
no more ang baos to collect
but there's still leftover chinese new year goodies to eat =)
it's a good year, it has been so fulfilling and great up till today
school is school, been skipping some lectures though..

this past week has been fun
went to csi: the exhibition at science centre on thursday,
it was better than i expected after body world,
maybe it's because i like csi better, so it's a biased statement
but it made me wanna watch csi again!! haha. oh well
we had to solve the cases there, at first they give you one out of the three cases,
but you can choose to do the other 2 cases after u're done with the first one, which of course we did
anyway, we had to take a look at the 'crime scene', note down all the unusual things and clues
then proceed to the labs to figure out the crime, using fingerprints, footprints, blood analysis etc.
then last but not least head over to the autopsy room to find out cause of death and we had to report back to Gil Grissom, (my favourite csi agent by the way) who is our supervisor for the cases, and we get a diploma for solving the case.
by the time we exited the exhibition, the 'csi' shop closed so i couldnt get anything
but i went back the next day to get the csi stuff since my sch was quite near.
i bought a shirt and tape. there were 2 designs of shirt i did not mind getting, but the one i wanted more, which was the fingerprint one, was out of sizes.
so they only had M and above and it was really huge..even S is big..so i had no other choice but to get the other one since i wanted a csi shirt =)
i wanted to get the hat too but too bad i dont wear hats often..and the notepad too..but it was more of graph paper so i wouldnt be able to use it..

then yesterday, we went to universal studios singapore
it was kinda last minute actually
my mom's company brought all of them to uss, but last minute some of her colleagues didnt turn up, so my mom asked us to go, who would say no
my dad and i headed over there first after my worship evaluation, went to meet my mom first
we went to lights, camera, action, which has the same name as a nancy drew game =)
it was showing us how they create the set and stuff..
they had a similar one in universal studios in US, but that was a different setting..
then we went to sit the canopy flyer first while waiting for esther..it's quite short and not thrilling at all..waited 50min for a 53sec ride
there were mascots going around and sideshows too.
then we went past return of the mummy and saw that the queue was v.short,
so my mom and i went in, my dad didnt so he went to fetch my sis who was at habourfront heading over..
after the canopy flyer, the return of the mummy was much better..but it's only once, after you sit the second time, it's like -.- alr. =)
so when we were done, we went to meet my dad and sis, my sis was complaining that we didnt wait for her.
anyway we went to sit this ride in far away land..it's called enchanted airways..which was just like the canopy flyer, no kick..
then we went to donkey live, which was like an interaction thing with donkey (who was on the screen)
we saw the potion bottles that everyone had, it was kinda cool =)
by that time we headed to the monster rock show which started at 4.45pm, but opened the doors at 4.30pm..it was FULL house in the hollywood theatre, probably cause there were only several shows per day
it was kinda like the horror glee episode, lots of singing and dancing,
it's not bad though
then by the time it ended, it was time to head for water world which started at 5.30pm
we alr watched it before when we went to the universal studios in US, but my sis cant rmb a thing so we had to watch it again..
it was raining when it finished, but since we were one of the first few to leave the place, the queues to the rides were shorter, so we headed to the jurassic park ride first cause it was shorter now about half an hour wait compared to 100 min before..it's boring compared to the one in US, cause that has an 8-story, almost 90degree drop at the end. This was more like 45degree, 1 story drop...vast difference. =(
by now all the rides like only 5 min wait, because it was almost 7pm and everything closes at 7pm
then we headed over to the battlestar galactica (human-red one) to try it out..it was the best ride the whole day!! =)) too bad we didnt try the cyclone one (have to wait 15min)
so we went over to the revenge of the mummy since esther hasnt sat on it yet, we kinda regret we didnt go to cyclone instead..
then we went to look for my mom and dad, who went off somewhere since we went on the jurassic park ride.
they alr bought food (a huge pizza-2 times or more bigger than a normal plate-$38) since the shop was closing too..it was alr past 7pm..
we were the last ones to leave the shop, most of the people that were still in uss were loitering ard outside..there was nth much to do since there were no fireworks so we went out of uss.
we were exploring the place and we came across the crane dance at the right side of uss..it started at 9pm and it was only 8pm, but since there was nth else to do, we sat there to wait..
esther and i went ard, supposingly to look for water cooler went exploring =) there were no water cooler ard..by 8.30pm the whole seating area was filled and ppl were starting to stand ard behind since it's an open area.
the whole show was not bad..something different from the normal water shows..
there was another water show at 9.30pm but after watching awhile, we all got bored and left and headed home..

yea..mid-terms starts next monday yet i'm going all over the place =)
but yet i dont regret going since it's a one-time chance..it's not worth paying 70 bucks to go into uss since the only ride worth sitting is the battlestar galactica..

19th we went to mediacorp for the singapore talking recording..
the first one about pda was better than the 2nd one about gambling..
not because of the topic, but because of the spokesperson talking..
the gambling one answered the question in one big round before getting to the point.
it was alright, met this other rachel cause eudora was sitting next to her in the beginning.
she's from nus maths too =)

then 20th was jingyi's birthday..after the maths lecture, we went to holland central, thai express to eat..before going over to the daily scoop to eat some dessert =)

school's still going on but today was the start of the long weekend till monday because of chinese new year..
anyway, today was a GREAT day! (by today i meant yst since it's alr 12+am)
i was supposed to meet joseph at 11am, then the others were supposed to come at 1pm to play bball..
in the end, just a few seconds before the bus came joseph called me, and told me he was coming over..said he didnt wanna carry the present ard..
it wasnt till ard 1pm when he called me to go downstairs..then made me go up agn..
and when i opened the door, there i saw charles, zeph, zac, sammy, dione and my 2 sisters
haha..quite stunned to see them there..
so yea i got the greatest surprise ever..
oh they made me try on the present that they got for me, which was..
of course a dress..it's my 3rd ( i think) birthday dress..which consists of more than half the number of dresses i have..haha
then we headed over to nex for lunch, and ended up at fish and co's cause of the birthday thingy that they have..they make you stand on the chair, while holding onto a sparkler, introduce you to everyone and start saying their birthday cheer and sing a birthday song..
it was soooo embarassing.!! good thing no one i knew went by..
but zachary had to take a video and post it on facebook..lol
but it was memorable and fun..
think i smiled till my face was hurting.. =)
