my gosh..lifting fingerprints was tough, finding 10 matching points is even harder!!
we have to compare a rolled print of our thumb to the lifted print..10 points for each thumb..
spent 5 hours just looking for those 20 points..even had to use a magnifier glass to compare..
it's a tough job..but it's finally done, time to work on the bug report..

today is finally the day i've been waiting for since last week..fingerprinting day!
but just before we were supposed to report to the lab, i had a bad tummyache, so i just prayed it away..thank God..
outside the lab, we were given disposable lab coats to wear before we enter..and then we had to seat in our arranged groups, so i sat with these 3 other girls..our table was the most 'problematic' table for our group..we took the longest and had the most questions, and did things wrongly..
we did wrong thumbs for the white and black tile..right thumb supposed to go on white tile, and left thumb supposed to go on black tile..i accidentally did the wrong thumb on the black tile and used up a lifter! we were only given 2 lifters of each colour to do, so we had 2 chances..and these were the ones that we are supposed to use for our reports, so we CANNOT get them wrong! and then i did white powder and used a white lifter..wrong contrast..so i only had 1 of each colour left! so no matter what! i had to get the next 2 right..which thank God i did, and there were no air bubbles trapped as well..
we took so long in our practice round before doing those lifters until the girl in charge of our group had to ask us to hurry up, she stress..we also stress, panicking while we scrambled to finish up our lifters..it was the most stressful lab i have ever been too..Thank God we managed to finish everything in time..!!
but we got to play with the magnetic black powder, black powder, white powder..pretty fun!! and a crime scene investigator guy walked by our table and saw me panicking over the white lifter that i had done wrongly..he said 'wrong contrast right?', i replied ya..so after that, i asked him whether he was part of the crime lab or the life science lab we were in..so he said crime scene investigator..he also said that he did alot of fingerprint lifting and even showed us how to do it the proper way..! the thing is, he did it like in less than a minute (dusting the fingerprint, sticking the scotch tape, and lifting the print!), while we had been struggling to do it and were taking such a long time to do it! either way, we were privileged cause i think our table was the only table that he talked to..=) previously, they were just walking around and looking at all the students fingerprinting..
it was pretty interesting and fun to finally do it no matter how tough it was..
after the lab, we had to watch a few videos..while the other group did their turn of fingerprinting since we were divided into 2 groups..

today morning as i was heading over to supreme court for a court case..
just kidding, was heading for a tour of supreme court organized by my forensic science module..they had limited slots and i had gotten it..anyway, well i was heading to city hall, i took the train from sengkang..there was this guy and girl aged 20+ or 30+ sitting at the reserved seat and the seat next to it respectively..there was this pregnant lady right in front of them! and even though they saw the pregnant lady, even stared at her, they did not give up their seats!! the girl was looking at the mirror, playing with her phone, the guy with his psp..so inconsiderate! it wasnt till serangoon, when the guy got off that the pregnant lady got to seat..
at the supreme court, there were about 60 of us, so we got separated into 2 groups..my group started in the court room, so first she showed us the high-tech information board, where the lawyers can get queue numbers and we can look at what cases were showing, that was on the way to the court room..
so since they booked the whole court room for us, we got to seat at where the lawyers always sat..the lady explained about the supreme court and the court rooms..the court room where we were at had no criminal box because that room mostly holds civil cases..after which, we headed to the viewing gallery which in the big circle disc you see on top of the supreme court, and it has quite a nice view of the Singapore skyline as well as some of the F1 racetrack..after which, we went up to the court of appeal, which was empty again, so we could even enter the criminal box to see how it's like..the court of appeal court is located right in the middle of the big circle disc, and has a skylight--> transparency of the government, as well as the many glass panels all around the supreme court building..then to end the tour, we went back down to the history gallery where the history (duh) of the old and new supreme court, lawyers etc was..
and since someone asked if we could go to a court hearing, we headed over to a courtroom where a hearing was still in process..the witness was a malay guy who needed a translator..and both lawyers were black dudes..the defense was asking the witness many questions, till the prosecutor stood up and said that the questions were irrelevant and stuff, the judge replied that it was alright and that it would make the court proceed alot faster, so the questioning proceeded...
sounds like something out of a show huh..
but the lawyer was questioning v.slowly, not like how you would see in shows..perhaps this is to allow the transcribes to be able to catch what they say..
today i just this or something along this line cause i cant rmb word for word.

there's quite alot of things to write about since the last time..
but there's only just one word to describe me now
TIRED!
it's gonna be a faith-stretching semester!
6 modules is really hard to cope with esp with 4 core mods and 1 language mod, dont know what I was doing when I bidded, but now I dont really wanna drop any mods..+ stuff to do outside of school..
good thing about it is that I'm enjoying most of my modules no matter how taxing they are...only 1 mod that I havent done anything about it yet..
either that or I really work better with pressure..
either way, it's good cause i'm doing more work than i did for the past semesters..
Perhaps my verse for the semester
Isaiah 40:30,31 Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
