TONSILS WHO NEEDS THEM!

Well after a fun week in St. George we hurried home and got ready for Brookies big day!! She has been getting strep throat like crazy and been suffering from sleep apnea and at last it was time to take those big old honkin no good tonsils out. She has been so nervous for this but it all went well. Phil and our neighbor Crispen gave her a blessing the night before and it seemed to really help calm her nerves and she was able to go right to sleep. We took her into the hospital first thing the next morning. The staff there couldn't have been nicer and they all took really great care of her. They gave her some Versaid and it calmed her right down. She became quite talkative with the nurses ( anyone who knows our Brookie knows she can be VERY shy) so Phil and I were getting a good laugh out of watching her. She was all sorts of giggly and chatty. She was laughing and smiling as they hauled her away. The surgery went well and quick with no problems. She woke up right after and immediately began drinking sprite. She has been doing ok eating lots of ice cream bars and smoothies. She has been spoiled with treats and balloons with all our great friends and family. We are hoping the pain is worth it and we wont have any strep!

MARCH MADNESS X-TREME STYLE!

Well I vowed I would not get this behind on my blog and yet here I am six months behind! It has been a crazy busy time filled with up's and downs! Our latest adventure being a great one. We spent the weekend ( I am still spending with Phil at a work conference hence the time to update) in St. George for Dax's first baseball tournament. It was such a fun weekend. We got to our condo on Wednesday night. We got settled and ready for an early morning of ball. On Thursday we made our way to Hurricane for Dax's games. He did not disappoint. He played so well. He hit double after double and even pitched a few innings. The entire team played as good as they looked. They were able to win both of their games that day. After the games we went to dinner at a Mexican restaurant. Then it was back to the condo and off to bed. The next day our games were out in Ivins. Again they played great and won both of their games! We so excited to be 4-0. They got done early Friday so the boys went to watch some other games and us girlies headed off to do some shopping. Later that day we met up with Nana and Papa and Ginka and Papa and went to dinner at Iggy's! It was good. Then it was back to the condo for some swimming with Stratton and Brooklynn and Phil and Dax and his parents went to watch his cousin's softball game. Saturday was the day we had been waiting for. Our chance to play for the championship. Our first game was close at first and then we were able to rally and we took off with a big lead. Then it was straight into the championship game. We were playing the Snow Canyon Sliderz. We started off well and they quickly caught up and then pulled ahead of us. It got to where it was 10-4 for them. I was loosing hope and then they sent Dax out to pitch. He hasn't pitched too much so I thought they were crazy. Talk about making a nervous mom even more crazy. He got out there and pitched like he has never pitched before and was able to hold them and we were able to get up to bat and rally and come back to close the gap 10-9. We had our tying run on second and got out so that ended the game. It was a bit heartbreaking. Those boys had worked so hard and wanted to win the tournament so bad but they can't feel bad about 2nd place. They played amazing and were so much fun to watch. I was a VERY proud mom! I think we all had a great time! We are looking forward to our season starting. We love us some baseball! We are so lucky to have such a great support team and amazing grandparents who are there to cheer on their grandkids at everything they do! We love you all very much and are so glad you got to be there with us!!!

OH MY HAIR!!

We have this really hot barber that does the boys hair and he generally does a great job! Although this last time he had himself a little to much fun with the clippers. I am pretty sure he was the only one having a good time and happy with the results! I think the pictures speak for themselves. We love you daddy!!!

BLUE AND GOLD!

Dax had his Cub Scout blue and gold banquet. He was so excited for this. He worked really hard to earn quite a few awards and badges. He was totally sick when the day arrived but I couldn't bear to keep him home so yes I was that mom and let him go so he could get his awards. He got the Heart of Scouting, baseball belt loop, baseball pin, science belt loop, and the video game belt loop. He is definitely a go getter and I love that about him! We are so proud of our little scouter!

SCIENCE FAIR!

My kiddos love to be a part of everything! Which is such a great quality of theirs however sometimes I really hate it. The science fair was no exception. They came home from school with their entry forms and insisted on doing a project. Of course they had no ideas of what they wanted to do. I guess that is my job. So after some on line searching we came up with a few projects and went to work. Brooklynn did Does Fat-free food taste worse than fatty food. It actually turned out to be a fun project to do. She picked some foods and we bought the regular version and that fat-free version of the food. We then did a blind taste test with different people. It was fun to see the results. Dax did does temperature affect popcorn popping. He stored packs of popcorn in different places like the freezer, the refrigerator, and on the cupboard and then popped them to see if one popped better than the other. I was glad to get the projects done. For some reason they end up being a lot of work for me but I am glad they are so enthusiastic about school and that they want to be involved!

OUR DAY OF LOVE!

We had a great day of love on Valentines. Normally I make pink heart shape pancakes for breakfast but this year I decided to shake things up a bit. I saw a cute idea on Pinterest and decided to do it! So we had our Valentines breakfast of cereal and the kids loved it. Once they were off to school Phil and I went to lunch at Dalton's and then headed to Brooklynn's class to help with her Valentines party. Later that night I made a special dinner of heart shaped pizza, heart jello jigglers and complete with sparkling bubbly in goblets. My kiddos thought the goblets were awesome! Who would have known a few dollar store glasses could make their day. After dinner we went to watch Phil's basketball team play in the tournament. They won their game. After the game we came home and had a visit from Ginka and Papa and then we called it a day. We have lot's to LOVE and we LOVE it all!!!
