After making gingerbread houses, Alison gave the kids a great idea and they became super heroes!

Gingerbread Houses
This year my mom started a new tradition for the wee ones. It was a great idea and really a great success. Jack had a fun time and loved every minute of it. He most defiantly ate a few or more of the candies, but he thought it was cool to frost them and make it his very own special house. Thanks mom for the great idea and for providing all the goodies.

Breakfast with Santa
I swear the days sometimes FLY by and I am left trying to catch back up!
This was our first year to go to our local Breakfast with Santa. It was just yesterday, Sat. Dec 4th, and my mother had bought the tickets and we all ventured out. It was held at the Wight House and so it was nice and close. A few days before I had started to talk more about Santa to Jack. Last year... well let's just say he was terrified! So to avoid the tears and shrieking.. i tried to prepare him.
We went with my sister and her two kids, my mother and Jack and Max Four kids.. ages 4,3,2 and 9 months. We had our hands full but it is the holidays!! We first sat down and ate breakfast which consisted of the usual breakfast food. The kids colored their pictures that they were given when we walked in. Then they had set up a fishing pond, "the north pole fishing" and jack got a nice prize there. After he kept asking to go back and go fishing. or in his words, "I go fishing, and get something!" We then moved on to face painting. I was nervous that jack was going to be wiggly but he did very well. He asked for a car and a car is what he got. I of course had to take a picture and show him after. He was pretty pleased with it.. then we moved on to the main attraction, Santa Claus and Jack did awesome! He was so excited and when he saw santa, he yelled, "SANTA!!!" I think I had a little flash back of the movie ELF.
Jack went up to Santa, sat on his lap and told Santa what he wanted. Mostly trucks, cars, and trains. He really just looked at him in awe and smiled. Santa Claus even gave jack a caterpillar truck which made noises, sounds and was really quite the gift. Jack smiled, thanked santa and then was walking blind for the next 10 minutes or so. He was so fixated on the gift he got he was running into people, stopped in the middle of the floor and pretty much made people move around him while he played with his truck. Jack went away from the experience with a huge grin and hasn't stopped talking about Santa.
Max, well he is 9 months and has officially hit the "Stranger Danger" period so, he was terrified of Santa and he cried as soon as he sat on his lap. Max would cry and stare at Santa and then at one point.. I don't know who was more terrified, Max being on Santa's lap or Santa getting his beard tugged on by a crying 9 month old. There is always next year for Max...
All in all, it was a hit and I would say that we will go next year too! Highly recommended for those that are around the area and want a fun and low key Santa experience.

Firsts....
Since there are a lot of firsts going on in this house, I figured, why not document them. I know if I don't, I will regret it and be very upset with myself.

Max has a bottom tooth. Yes, max's first tooth finally popped up! Yipee!
I tried to get a picture but the kid would not have such a thing.
The double trouble has begun, I turn my head for one minute, maybe two... these two grab the trix box and dump them all over the floor.

This year, I just couldn't help myself and we decided to put up christmas a couple days before thanksgiving. I know, a little premature but I am actually glad it is up and get to enjoy it a little extra long this year. Christmas is my most favorite holiday and I really wanted to enjoy it with the kids this year. Jack helped put up the big tree and the ornaments and we actually found a tree my mother gave to me and Jack has loved it ever since we took it out. It might have a little something to do with the fact it has mickey mouse characters as ornaments. He dressed and undressed the some many times I just watched him do it and tried to take a few pictures before. As for max... well he just sat and watched. Content baby boy!

Another snow day.. this time I got to get bundled up and go out and play with Jack. Of course he is obsessed with Thomas the Train and so therefore Thomas came with us. Jack also found it fun to throw Thomas in the 2 ft snow and have mom dig to find him. Fun for Jack, not so fun for mom. Whatever keeps the boy laughing though! We stayed out there for a good hour and later he took a 3 hour nap!

We woke up to tons and tons of snow and well, as soon as Jack saw daddy shoveling the snow, he wanted to go out with him. So here are pictures of Jack enjoying the first big snow of the season! Sorry for the quality they were taking with the camera on my phone. I just love how cute kids look all bundled up. Jack stayed clear of the yellow snow also. Which i think we confused him with, we would say, stay away from the yellow snow, he would look around and say, "no yellow snow, it's white!" ha ha ha

9 months
Wow! Today my baby, not so baby, max is 9 months old. I cannot believe how fast the times goes with having a second kid. I am amazed how everyday max is becoming more and more daring and he loves to watch Jack. I am afraid, Max will be just as big of a teaser as Jack currently is.
Max is still our chunky boy, and I have been really bad at going to get his well check-ups done. No worries though, it is on the calendar to go in the next two weeks. I am pretty sure max is 22 lbs if not more, the kid is a tank! I thought for sure that the kid was never going to crawl and yet, two days shy of 9 months... he is crawling and my house is pretty much covered in toys. Max actually started to pull himself up before he was really interested in crawling but after watching Jack and all his cousins, I am sure he decided moving was more fun. I thought my house was pretty kid proof however, now that max is really out and about.. i'm beginning to scratch that idea. I forget how interested they are and want to touch and grab everything.
Max is still as happy as a lark and when he wakes up at 7:00 am he is content with chillin in his bed for at least another hour. Most times, though, Jack wakes up at about 7:30-7:45 and knocks on his door to come out. Yes folks, Jack is 2 1/2 and he is such a shrimp that he has yet to have the height to open the doors. I actually find it quite nice, someday... someday.... though he will grow a little taller.
Now that Max is mobile.. Jack has discovered very quickly that HIS toys are now THEIR toys.. whether he likes it or not. I promise you, all day yesterday, Jack kept saying, "MOM, max touched me." or "he took it, he took my toy." or even "no-no max" followed by a slight shove. So, I guess let the toy wars begin... this should be fun but a little humorous also.
