The Big Camping Trip

Last year we went the Brian Head and stayed in Condos, this year we decided to go to our usual place at Mammoth in Cedar Mountain and rough it in tents again. We LOVE it! We stayed 4 days I think and would've loved to stay longer if we could. One of the days we went out to Panguitch lake and rented a boat and took the kids out on a ride. Then some of us took the kids back to camp while the boys and some of the wives fished. It was a cold day that day. Carson looks forward to this camping trip every year and I am always grateful he gets that time off. Its so much better when he is able to be there. We didn't four wheel as much as we usually do, but we had a lot of fun just being together. Here's a picture over load, but when do I ever do otherwise...

These two were inseparable. I love that all the boy cousins get along so well. They are all best friends.

I think this was Grandpa's favorite thing while camping, snuggling on the hammock. I'm not sure how he ever fit all these kids on with him.

I love this dude!

And Grandpa got one more kid on with him!

Grandpa, deep in thought.

Austin made a little boat and sent it down the river.

The water was freezing.

Erin and Sky

The only grand baby that didn't want to snuggle with Grandpa on the hammock.

We spent one afternoon exploring the Mammoth Caves. The kids all had a blast. Nixin was such a trooper and just pushed ahead. When we would try to climb over rocks, she would grunt and huff and breath, then say things like, "there, got it!" once we got over. She was great. Lincoln was a little scared at first, but then got used to it and loved it. They were so muddy. We got filthy!

The whole gang after packing up. Chris and Mindee joined us on the last night. I think they might try to come the whole time next year.

On the way home. Poor Nix, looks like she has a filthy face, but its only scrapes. She fell off the hammock. She scraped up her chin, lip, and nose. Sad. Isn't she adorable! I freakin love her!

This on the other hand, is dirty! Look at that foot!

On the way home, we stopped at the look out. Austin and Bri happened to have the same idea. It was so pretty!

These are the looks I see every time I look into the backseat while the DVD player is going. It makes me laugh. They seriously have these same looks on their faces every time!

No, Lincoln is not screaming, this is just how he watches a movie while in the vehicle.

24th of July

Again, the 24th this year was spent in Enterprise. I still think they do the best celebrating on the 24th.... Probably that's because I've never celebrated it anywhere else. Anyway, we watched the parade in the morning where the kids got bags full of candy and then went to the races in the afternoon where we ran again, didn't win, and jumped in the money pool while the fire department sprayed us with hoses. I don't think my kids found any money, they just wanted to swim. Bentlee on the other hand, came out with a fist full of coins. After all the kids had gotten out and the fire department was trying to get things ready for the older group of kids, there where a few kids still swimming who kept being told to get out, but wouldn't. I couldn't find Lincoln and when I looked in the water, there he was laying on his side, spinning under water. Oh brother. Of course it was my kid!  They all loved it!

My dad was the first announcer for the parade and at the very end had to jump on a four wheeler to be in the parade.

Yes, that is a sno cone. One of the floats was giving out sno cones! It was great!

Grandma was nice enough to ride on my moms relief society float so she wouldn't have too. Thanks Grams!

Yes, that's ice cream. Another float was handing those out. Best Parade EVER!

 Nix running in the races.
 Linc running.

Watching the fire trucks fill up the money pool.

I was laughing while going through my pictures. Ever one of Tatum was so funny. She always had the most concerned, lost, angry look on her face. I remember she was so upset because she couldn't find any money, but instead of actually looking, she just complained about it and kept looking as Sam as if she was pleading for Sam to fix it and find her some money!

4th of July

As usual, we spent the 4th of July in Enterprise for the races, then later that evening, we headed to Carson's parents for a BBQ and to watch the fire works. It was fun and for the first time in his life, Lincoln wasn't one bit scared of the fire works. The kids had fun!

Nixin running in the race. She was just so happy to look around at all that was happening! Gotta love that smile!

We practiced running, but to be honest, my kids are not competitive... Lincoln runs so slow and is just happy to be there. I don't think he even knows how to kick it into high gear. But I love his little happy-to-be-there personality and wouldn't have it any other way. He wasn't last! I love this kid!

Ootie Gets Married!

Austin met the cutest girl ever and decided that it was ok to marry her. We LOVE her and Aunt Bri has very quickly become the favorite aunt. The grandkids all LOVE her and Uncle Ootie! She is from Arizona, so we all headed to Mesa for the wedding and the reception. It was a fun road trip for all the kids. Carson and I just got a new vehicle, with a DVD player in it, so it was a life savor for both mine and Sam's kids. they really did so good on the drive. Then, the next weekend, we had an open house at my moms house. It all happened in June, and the weather was perfect! It turned out so nice.

My mom did a popcorn bar at the open house. She had regular popcorn with different flavors to sprinkle on it, Cinnamon crunch popcorn, kettle corn, and caramel corn.

She had a lemanade stand. We were teasing her a little cause it was more like a "Lemon Water" stand, than a lemonade stand.

Bri rode a bike to college her whole first year, and my mom saw this idea on pinterest and had to try it in honor of Bri. We laughed and teased my mom through the whole process of painting the bike, but it turned out cute.

Also had a sno cone section. My mom has wonderful friends who helped through the whole thing and made the sno cones so we could just enjoy the evening. It was kinds weird not to have to worry about so much. It was nice.

This is on my moms balcony. She found this dresser at the dump and we painted it red. Then she made the sign out of pallets. So cute. I'm been jealous of the dresser since she brought it home. I would love to have it on my front porch.

I'm not sure what this look is, but Lincoln loved the sno cones. Every time I saw him, he had one in his hand.
