Just for Dawn

Life as a working mother of 3 kids under age 5 is tiresome, crazy, sometimes stressful, amazingly wonderful, and truly blessed. Some things have gone to the way side...like this blog. So in honor of Dawn, who bugs me incessantly about it, here is a post just for her. One post a year is okay, right?

Megan just graduated preschool and will be headed off to Kindergarten at the "big school" in August. I can't believe this time has come already. She is a smart kid and reminds me daily how much she knows already. She is a great big sister...most of the time. You can tell the twins miss her when she's not here because of how quiet the house is. I truly adore her and who she is becoming. At graduation they asked her what she wanted to be when she grows up. She said "a big sister and the President." Get ready world because her she comes!

Will and Sarah are 9 months old now. They have very different personalities. Will is strong, determined, focused...just like his mama. He started belly crawling early and is now working on getting his knees into the game. He pulls himself up to a standing position and then hesitates on what to do next. He will probably be an early walker. Sarah is quiet, laid back, with an amazing smile...just like her daddy. She could care less that Will is running circles around her. She just sits back and laughs. She is a snuggler, pulls hair (hers, mine, Megan's...), and giggles at almost everything. They are both amazingly good babies and we are truly fortunate to have them in our lives.

I keep thinking I will get better at capturing the moments around us and writing down the fun things we've done each day or that have happened but like most things, the day disappears on me. I guess I need to start channeling my inner-Ali.

PS. Once funny tidbit today...Megan is totally into Star Wars and handed Sarah her light saber. She starts laughing and saying "Look Mom she's my Paduwan!" Megan thinks she a Jedi Master so of course Sarah must be a Paduwan!

So is it bad that I....

...haven't blogged since December 2008??? Oops! C'mon, it's only been 6 months and 11 days.

So a lot has happened in the last 6 months. I can tell you I've only scrapped once. I don't even think I have pictures of the pages, they are still sitting on the shelf waiting to be scanned or at least put into albums. I am, however, starting to get the bug to scrap again so hopefully that is a good sign. Part of the issue was a bad battery in my camera that I didn't get fixed for 4 months so I missed a lot of pictures, the other reason is my other news....

The BIGGEST thing to happen to me in the past 6 months are these 2 little nuggets....

I'm 7 months pregnant with twins! Baby A and Baby B are doing well and we are excited for their arrival in (hopefully) early September. The 3D ultrasound is super freaky/super cool and I can already tell that Baby B has his/her daddy's nose and grandpa's chin. We don't know the genders and aren't going to find out so it will be a big surprise to see if we become a family of 3 girls, 2 girls/1boy, or 1 girl/2 boys. Megan is very excited to be a big sister and I thankful that she wants to help out. I hope that enthusiasm stays with her once they are born!

So maybe I'll post more often if I get back to scrapping or you can find me on Facebook...seems to be a second home to some these days.

some scrap stuff

This is the extent of the scrapbooking I've done since early June....sad, I know, that something I used to do every week has been put on the back burner for a while. I hope to catch up this winter when its too cold to do anything else. Photo from my birthday.

This one still cracks me up.

I love this photo from camping at Saylorville this summer.
Megan and BFF Madison at their first sleepover.
This is the funniest story ever!
Megan loves gymnastics. She moved up into the next class this fall...now Mama gets to watch from the balcony instead of chase her around the gym.

IBSS October Kit

Itty Bitty Scrap Shack just revealed their October kit..."and they call it Poppy Love". So cute! It contains the entire Scenic Route Sonoma line, coordinating Bazzill cardstock, and a ton of super yummy embellishments. So far I've only used 1 piece of paper, its that irresistable that I don't want to waste any of it, to create these 2 layouts. I'm also working on 2 altered items so stay tuned for more later this week.
