So besides being a vampire junky and reading anything with Vampire in the title...I have found a few new series that rock my world. One is by Gemma Halliday (what an awesome name isn't it). She has many series but my favorite is the High Heel Mysteries. http://www.gemmahalliday.com/
My next is by Stephanie Bond and is the Body Movers Mysteries. http://www.bodymoversfanfiction.com/
These are great summer reads.
And last but not least my all time favorite by Janet Evanovich. The Stephanie Plum Series. http://www.evanovich.com/ In fact, every singe Evanovich book is great and there are plenty to chose from. From mysteries to romance she writes it all. Check back for my next book addiction.

It's been fours years
Happy 4th Anniversary to myself and my two best friends...

The last 4 years have had there challenges but lots, lots of fun. Spent a year at mom's house. Then moved out of mom's house to an apartment. Adopted a hamster, cat, and puppy. Then a year later bought our first house, and adopted another puppy. Dallace has had 6 jobs and I have been with the same company now for three years and I have not returned to the preschool. We have had 8 different cars. But the last three we have had the longest and I'm sure there are plenty of more to come. Taken two vacations. Twice to DisneyLand and once to Vegas. Dallace took me to my first NASCAR race. Two trips to the emergency room. Once for me and once for him. One surgery for me, and Dallace took very good care of me. Still working on our back yard. Many short weekend trips to Monteray, Tahoe, San Francisco and the beach. Enjoyed lots of sushi and steak at Mikuni and our favorite place Twin Sushi, steak anywhere. Enjoyed food so much put on 60 ponds each, now working on getting that down. Hit 30 years old, w/ no kids in site. Dallace still young. Haven't cooked as much as Dallace would like. Still argue about who is cleaning the house. Watched and bought many movies. Upgraded to Blu-Ray with our 50 inch TV. Enjoy spending time with friends. And I still have my girl night once a month. They say the first few years are the hardest, if that is true then the rest will be a walk in the park.
And to all my girlfriends I love you and you were all beautiful blushing brides.

Vaction 2009
So Dallace and I finally took a vacation. Our last vacation was two years ago, a week in Disney Land with Harley Wentzel and family. Well, we thought about going out to Florida to see the Wentzel family and visit Disney World but air flight was just to much. So then we thought Disney Land again, but we wanted to do more then just Disney. So mom, Dallace and I (plus the dogs) went to So Cal for the week. We stayed in Hemet at my grandfathers house which is litterly falling apart under your feet. My grandfather is 93 and in a rest home. But we use his house when we go down there. My mom and aunt are in the process of cleaning it out of all the crap my grandparents collected...but there is still quite a lot. So our first day Sunday the 6th we took grandpa to lunch. Then had dinner with family friends. Since there is no TV at my grandfather's house we sat around reading, playing with the iPhones (those things came in so handy all week), and played with the dogs.

Monday we drove to LA about an hour and 45 min drive. We had lunch at a childhood favorite of my mother's called Clifton's, it's a cafeteria type restaurant. It rained all day and the streets were like lakes.

After all the rain cleared the air we decided to go watch the sunset at Santa Monica Pier. And even though we were freezing it was a beautifully sunset.

The next day we went to the San Diego Zoo. Mom got us a special one hour tour first thing when we got there with a personal zoo employee who drove us around to each animal and told us lots of stories about them. Here are some great pictures. We had no lines to see the panda bears, they had two out and one in the back with a week old baby. The koala bears were not moving around much when we went by but we still got some good shots. And they had a two week old giraffe. The zoo is my favorite place in San Diego but we hadn't been there in years. And my favorite part of the zoo....the flamingos. So on the way back to Hemet from San Diego mom was driving and we hit some traffic so Dallace went on to our trusty iPhones to find a quicker route. Well, the route he picked was not quicker but it sure was interesting. We found a back road through the valley that leads to Hemet. There are no words for the dirt path in which we traveled but it was an adventure and there sure are big cool houses with lots of property out there. But one thing for sure it was good we had mom's PT Cruiser and not our lowered one because it would have died and refused to go any further. I have no pictures of the road but it was great.

Then Dallace and I left the dogs with my mom in Hemet and took off to Las Vegas for two days. Here are some pictures of the lovely Nevada flat lands. Love the name of this road.

So Dallace got us a room at The Venation (my favorite Hotel). Our room was fantastic. It had three flat screen TVs. One in the "sitting" area. One in front of the bed and one in the bathroom. You would never miss a thing while in that room. Dallace asked for a room with a view of the strip so we could see all the action going on. It was nice being there in the middle of the week and during the cold time because it was very quite. Expect for all the cowboys in town for the National Finals Rodeo. Our room:

So when we first arrived we checked in and went up to the room where we changed into our walking shoes and warm clothes. We had seen on our favorite TV show on Travel Channel, Man vs. Food, a place in Vegas called the NASCAR Cafe were they have a 6 pound burrito. Well, we thought we could use some exercise after sitting in the car for the last 4 hours and walked the two miles to the Sarah Casino. When we got there we had a huge apatite.

So we found out the 6 pound burrito is only for the contest so Dallace got a one pound bacon BLT and I got a one pound double cheese burger. Here are pictures of our food and Adam's picture form Man vs. Food.

After we scarfed our food down and decided we couldn't walk the two miles back and still have functional legs for the rest of the evening we found the tram that goes behind the casinos from Sarah all the way down to MGM. So we headed back to our hotel room to rest and let the ton of food we ate digest a little. Well, we ended up take a nap for an hour and woke up energized and excited to see the lights of Vegas. We walked through The Grand Canal Shoppes in the Venetian. Then we walked across the street to Ceaser's Palace and walked through their shops. (side note: there are three Tiffany's shops in Vegas!! and yes I dragged Dallace into all three) We watched the water show at The Bellagio done to Christmas music. Oh and inside the Bellagio they had a huge Christmas tree display. Then we walked across to Paris and went to the top of the Eiffel Tower, very cold at the top but also romantic. We again watched the water show at the Bellagio from the top. We then took the tram down to MGM by then it was going on 11'clock (by this time we had down two large Monster drinks) and things had shut down but the night life was still going strong. So we walked through MGM and across the street to Excalibur (were we downed two large Dr. Peppers), walked to the Luxor (Dallace had never been inside it), and then to Mandalay Bay. All three hotels are connected by a walkway. By this time it was after one in the morning I couldn't feel my legs and I just wanted to lay down and sleep for the rest of the year. But, we still had to walk back to our hotel. By the time we got to our room it was 2 am our legs were twitching and once our heads hit the pillows we were out. By the way that was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in, in my life. Here are pictures of The Grand Canal Shoppes inside the Venetian:

And the lights of Vegas. Also the Bellagio's water show. Amazing Ocean's 11 doesn't give it justice.

The view from the top of the Eiffel Tower.

Dallace and I on the tram on the way back to our hotel room at 1:45 in the morning after walking approximately 10 miles in one night.

We left Vegas Thursday afternoon after driving around town trying to find a Jumba Juice. We got to Hemet ate dinner at my most favorite steak house in the world Steer n' Stine and decided to drive through the night and head home. So, we helped mom lock up the house (and when I say "lock" up the house I mean put down the metal curtains on all the windows and lock all the security doors, my grandparents were paranoid). So we drove all night through the rain and got home about 4am got our selves and the dogs inside and once again hit the pillows and was out till sometime the next day.
