So Boring!!!

So we haven't posted a blog in about a year so I thought I should explain. It's been a little bit of stressful time for us. Joaquin's back put him out for 3 weeks of work. He was basically stuck in bed for the whole time. He has now gone back to work and feels a little out of the loop of things with his new position he took at Verizon. He's a transitional leader for Verizon. Anyway, he hasn't got paid what he was supposed to with the short term disablilty so we're a little short on cash and we planned our trip to New York and we're leaving this friday for 11 whole days. We're both really excited, I just hope we can enjoy our time there and not have to worry about money. Ugh.....money....it's what makes the world go round. That's what it feels like anyway. When we get back from NY we'll post a bunch of pictures of our trip. Hopefully we'll have plenty of stories and pictures from this trip.

The Mazza Wedding

We attended the Mazza reception this weekend. It was so good to see Jantzen and Kristin so happy. They had their wedding at the Wells Fargo building in down town SLC. It was so beautiful. I was really happy we were able to go. While we were there, we saw many Soda folk. Joaquin loves his Sodaians so much. I must say, i really enjoy how welcoming and loving everyone is from there. It's like a little family. Anyone who comes from Soda Springs knows everyone and everyone seems to love everyone. Since I've been married to Joaquin I've got to know many of his closest friends and family from there and everyone seems to be very weloming. Especially the Mazza Family. We sat with Jantzen's Grandma and Aunt and had such a good time talking to them. His Grandma even invited me to come up to Soda and spend the time with her. How cute is that? It was a wonderful weekend and it was good to see so many friends.

Our California Trip

I'm very well aware that we haven't posted anything for a few weeks now and I am very sorry. Our life has been very crazy these last few weeks so our blogging hasn't been as up to date as it should be. I will try to be better and add new fun pictures more often. I just hate posting when we don't do much. It's boring to read and no one wants to read a boring blog. Let me start off by explaining the last couple of weeks. Joaquin and I have been preparing to go to the temple for a while now and we finally made it. We drove to Sacramento, CA on a friday and we went through the Sacramento Temple together for the first time. We went back the next day to be sealed for All Time and Eternity. WOW!!! Isn't that the most amazing promise that we've been given. The experience was so wonderful and so spiritual. It was such an emotional day on saturday because my Grandma was sealed to my Grandpa who has pasted away a year previous. After they were sealed, my Mom and my Uncle Dexter were sealed to my Grandparents. That alone was so awesome to be apart of. Once they had been taken care of Joaquin and I were able to be sealed. It was so emotional and wonderful. Joaquin and I talked about the things that were said and what we remember and the one thing he remembered the most was being told to love your spouse more than ourselves. Now that we're back home, anytime one of us asks the other person to do something for them and they say no, we say, remember your suppose to love your spouse more than yourself. We like to tease each other. I don't mean to get to sappy on my blog page but I'm really so grateful for my husband. I don't know how I got so lucky! There is no one I'd rather spend the rest of my life with. (On this earth and after.)

While we were in Sacramento there was a secret that we had been hiding for sometime from the rest of our family and friends. It was SO hard to keep my big mouth shut but I'm so glad we did because we were given the best reaction in the world. If you can't already tell by the way I'm describing it, Joaquin and I are PREGNANT!!! Not only are we pregnant but we're pregnant with TWINS!!! Two babies!!! Oh man, it's crazy I know! But we're so excited, a little nervous but mostly excited. We waited to tell our family after our sealing at the dinner. We bought little frames that say "Angels in the Making" and then we put a picture of our ultrasound in there and gave it to the Mom's as a late mother's day gift. It was the best reaction we could have ever imagined. First their were gasps and then once Joaquin yelled, "We're having Twins!" Their were yells and crys. Most our family and closest friends were there and it was such a happy time. If I can get my hands on the tape I will post it at a later time. Now Joaquin's Dad and Cindy were unable to be there but we sent them a note in the mail and surprised them in a fun way too. So all in all, an amazing weekend.

Well, almost an amazing weekend....I had to be back to work the next tuesday but Joaquin had a week more off so he stayed in California and went to Bishop spend more time with his Mom and his Sister and Brother. Well while he was there, he threw his back out. BAD! Like he almost can't walk bad. His sister had to drive him home to Utah and we flew her back the next morning and he hasn't been to work since. It's that bad. He has an appointment to see a specialist this upcoming tuesday so hopefully they will help him out. Ugh....I love him, crippled back and all. And despite that, this was probably the best weekend of my life.
