Christmas Morning...

Grandma! Gotta love her! (Even when she tells you that something looks like it's to small for you to wear.)

Me with the babes.

Dad feeding Everett.

Delicious strawberry and pecan pancakes with REAL whipped cream.....a family tradition. Oh man, it was so good!

My Beautiful Sister with my Beautiful Boys!

Santa's Little Helpers. (Who just woke up.)

Our tree.

Nick feeding Brock

Christmas really was so wonderful. Not to hectic because there were only four adults at our house and two babies. It would've been nice if we would have had more family around but it didn't work out that way so we made the best of it. We were up pretty late Christmas Eve night because both babies got a bad cold or cough or ear infection or something. (I haven't been able to take them to the doctor yet, so I don't really know what's wrong with them.) They just didn't seem very happy so I gave them a little medicine to help them sleep. When we woke up in the morning to get them out of bed, Brock's left nostril was jammed packed with disgusting crusty buggers....so gross I know. We had a lot of fun with my Grandma and I'm pretty sure she had a good time too. After we opened our gifts, we called my Mom and Dad on skype to visit with them. Jeremy and Krista stayed with them for Christmas this year so when we got on skype it felt as if we were all together in one big room. My Grandma LOVED Skype! She kept saying over and over, I just think this is SO NEAT. Sometimes I try to think what will be "SO NEAT" in the future to me when I'm 84 years old. The year will be 2067.....I can't even really imagine. After breakfast, we put the boys back down for a nap and then we all took naps. It was delightful. Then we drove up to Logan to have dinner with my cousin Ashley, her husband, Cody, His sister, Brittany and their little boy Daxton. I totally forgot to bring my camera so that is why there are no pictures of the afternoon part of Christmas day.

So now another Christmas has come and gone and I'm sad about it. I actually think of that song from the Forgotten Carols, "I cry the day that I take the tree down, I want the season to last all year long." I really wish it could last all year long but if it did, I wonder if I would appreciate it as much as I do. Probably not. That's just the way we work as humans I suppose. Speaking of taking the tree down, mine is down. I was actually really sick of getting after the boys about getting into it so I took it down today while they were napping. I feel like my house has a little organization back. Anyway, I hope everyone else had a happy Christmas. Now I'm looking forward for when the boys turn Two next year. I'm hoping they'll understand it a little more by then.

Christmas Eve...with sick babies

(These pictures are totally out of order...grrrr!)

This picture was actually really red but it was the only one I liked of me, (Yes it's always about me, okay?!)
Everett...so sick.

Grandma and Nickie

Brock...

"It's the most wonderful time of the year."
I love Christmas and I really do feel like it is the most wonderful time of the year. I think it makes us all so happy because it brings us back to what is really important in life, which is our families and Christ. I think that is why everyone is "usually" so happy and jolly. We are reminded of the true things that make us happy. We had a very nice, simple Christmas. This year it we had Nickie, Grandma, Us and the babies for Christmas Eve. We didn't do much but it was very relaxed and nice. Other than the two sick children I have. The picture of Everett looks so sad. He's so tired and his eyes were just ready to slam shut. Maybe he was in a hurry to get to bed because of the anticipation of Christmas morning. Could be....

My Babies are 1 Year Old!

I can't believe my little ones are a year old...see below for pictures of just one year ago! When you were first born, I never thought you two would ever be as big as you are now.
"Da...that's some good cake!!! Yup Yup yup."

Everett, my little thinker. Always think before you do....I imagine you saying, "I think this is good cake but let me just think about it a little longer to decide."

So happy.

So Jolly...you remind me of a young Santa Claus in this picture.

WOW, one year ago, these were my little babies. This is so hard to even remember. Brock on the left (5.12lbs) and Everett on the right (4.2lbs)

Everett, this is you. I have to admit, you look liked an old man and I was a little worried you would always look this way but you filled out very fast and now you are my handsome lil man.

Brock, this is you. You have always been a good eater and pretty good sleeper.

We never knew how much you two would mean to us until you got here. We love you both so very much and couldn't ask for two better little boys to be sent to us. We are so blessed and we hope you both know that we will always love you and always be there for you two as you should be there for each other. Can't wait for many more birthdays to come. I know you two little ones will grow up to be good boys and even better men. Okay, okay so maybe I'm being a little cheesy but it's just the way I am. Love you over the moon, more than the sand grains on the shore more then a fat lady loves food!

Updates

I must admit, I'm not as good at blogging now that I've gotten into the whole facebook thing. My dear friend Becky and I were talking the other day and she was getting on my case about it so I'm posting for her mostly. I'm not really sure that anyone else really reads this anyway. Love you Bec. So I think the last time I posted was back in October and I hadn't really shared much about what we've been up to. They boys are growing bigger and bigger. We recently had my Brother in law, his wife and my niece, Emma, in town. We took pictures of the babies for my mother in laws birthday. She doesn't have any pictures of them all together so we felt it was a good opportunity to take pictures of them all together. Now we're no photographers but I think they came out cute. Other than that, we try to stay busy. Joaquin is taking a class for work. It will give him a 5% raise when he passes which will be awesome. We're hoping with the raise he can start working a little more normal schedule. (He works late hours because it pays more.) I've learn how to crochet from my very good friend Heidi. She's really gotten into it and I've just learned how to edge baby blankets which is good enough for me. Everett is finally growing a little hair but oddly enough, only in the back part of his head. I swear, it really does look like we sprinkled some fertilizer right there. He's being a little stubborn with his crawling. He knows how but chooses not to. If I place him on the floor, on his bum, he scoots every where. It's like he's afraid to go from the sitting position to the laying down position, so instead, he scoots. It's really funny, he looks like a rabbit. He hops all over the place. He can pull himself up on things but only if he doesn't think I'm in the room. As soon as he sees me, he thinks I'll just do it for him. When I do stand him up on furniture, he will stand there all day until I put him back on his bum. I'm afraid to say that I think he's a big fradie cat. He says Mama and Dada. Unfortunately his first real word was Dada. Little stinker. (Just kidding Joaquin.) He loves to copy us when ever we make noises. I've noticed lately when he doesn't get his way and he starts to cry, he starts to shake a little. Almost like he just can't believe I've taken a toy away from him or something. I'm thinking he might be a little dramatic when he gets older when he doesn't get what he wants. He also loves to scrunch up his nose and make a sniffing nose. It's so funny to me. I love it. My little Brock, or Big Brock, I should say, is getting ever so big. He is very strong and doesn't like to be held back. He's crawling all over the place and walking while holding onto the walls, furniture, chairs, my pants, anything. I'm pretty sure he'll be walking soon. He also says Mama and Dada. His first word was Mama. Thank goodness, although now all he wants to say is Dada. (What is it with these kids? I'm with them all day and all they want is their Dad. Geez.) Brock doesn't pay much attention to us unless we're doing something really extreme. For example, the boys were eating lunch today and if I call his name, I get ZERO response, but a lot of the time, I sing to them and I just discovered the song "Happy" by Leona Lewis and I had it on the computer and I was singing it so loud and I was being very flamboyant and crazy and fun and both of the boys couldn't stop staring at me. Who needs T.V. when you have a crazy mother. It was so fun. Brock loves everything he shouldn't. Like the computer, the bathroom, the vacuum and the plunger. Ewh sick. He loves loves loves to be tickled. I'll gently tickle his face and he zones out. It is so cute, he could be upset and crying and then I do that and he stops. He also just loves to be rubbed and kissed. He's very cuddly too. (When he wants to be.) They are both such good babies. I love them both so so so much. They will be a year old in two weeks and I can't believe that the little sweet angels I had a year ago have turned into almost 30 pound toddlers. WOW! When people say time really flies by, they weren't kidding. We have a lot of fun things to look forward to with the holidays approaching. I have family coming into town for Thanksgiving and I can't wait. I will be meeting my Niece, Jorja, for the first time. I saw her on Skype this afternoon and it was awesome. She's so beautiful! I can't wait for her to play with her cousins. I'll be sure to post pictures.

I think I've decided that I might go to a private blog too. As I mentioned earlier in this post, that Becky and I were talking about blogging and she uses her blog almost as a journal and I think I want to do that. I think this will be nice for the boys when they get old to look at. So, I haven't figured out how to do it yet but I think I'll be doing it soon....maybe. We'll see if I actually get around to it. So when I do I'll be sure to ask everyone to send me their emails so that, if you want to, you can still read our blog.

Halloween is just the beginning to the Holiday season with family!!!

Nickie, Grandma and me

Nickie and me

The Witches are in: Me, Serena, Jenessa, Ashley, Grandma and Aunt Debbie.

Me and the boys. How fun are we?
This past weekend, Joaquin got back from a week of hunting and so I told him he was taking over. I got a girls night out two nights in a row! It was so much fun. The first night, I met up with some girls I knew from high school. We went out to this Mexican resturant at the Rio Grande by the Gateway Mall. We really did have so much fun. Thanks for letting me come. (Serena, Erica, Jenni.) Oh and Joaquin too. ;) The next day my Aunt, Grandma, Sister and Cousins all went to this Witches Palooza thing in Sandy Utah. It was so fun. We actually went last year but we didn't know we could dress up so we decided to go again this year and go all out. We had a lot of fun. They have dinner and a show. The show was actually the same as it was last year but we didn't really care. We were all together dressed up. Nothing could be better.

HOW COULD I FORGET!!!

So I totally forgot to update everyone that my dear Sister in law Veronica and her husband Jon came up to visit us just prior to my other post. (I'm such a bad sister in law for not updating everyone on that visit as well.) Jon and poor Veronica were so great to drive all the way from Sacramento just to visit us. Veronica has had a broken ankle for the last couple of months and she and Jon had just had their wedding anniversary. They first went to Lake Tahoe, which is the most beautiful place on earth and also where they got married just a year before. After they spent some time there they made the long drive to Utah. We had so much fun. We hung out, ate and shopped. Veronica and I went to the farmers market and we both loved it. We think I should start selling things there. I have a few ideas what I can sell but I'm still not sure. Anyway, we had so much fun and I totally forgot to take one picture so I forgot to mention it in my last post. I LOVE YOU sister, "Your easy like sunday mornin'!"

Our crazy two weeks:

Ok, so these past two weeks have been a little difficult for us. We've had a lot of fun but it's been very busy. We went on our first camping trip up on Caribou Mountain. The night before we left to go to Idaho, Everett had a slight fever. We still decided to go. Joaquin's Mom, Brother, our Sister in law, Lil Emma and Jerry were all going to be there. So we headed up and when we stopped to eat in Soda Springs and we checked Everett and his temperature was 103.8 so we decided to take him to the emergency room. They just said to alternate the Motrin and Tylenol to keep his temp down. He was acting really lethargic and melancholy but we still decided to go. Well that night we got up to feed him and he puked all over Joaquin, his entire body was hot so we decided to pack up and head home at 3 am. Poor little guy was so out of it that he didn't even really cry. Joaquin was so exhausted, he thought he was going to fall asleep at the wheel so we stopped to get him a 5 hour energy shot so it would take the edge off of his eye lids wanting to slam shut. My poor little family. Anyway, we did have a good time there but we wanted to stay longer than just half a night but that's ok, I'm sure we'll have plenty more camping excursions in the future.

Our next fun and exciting/stressful thing was Brock's surgery. It really wasn't all that bad but we weren't sure how he would react to being put under anesthesia. The little champ did so well. His throat seemed to be a little soar from the tube they put down his throat to help him to breath while he was out but other than that he was fine. As soon as he woke up, he wanted to eat, as usual. Little porker. Once we got him home, he wanted to practice crawling all over the floor. Joaquin's brother, Andon and his Wife, Ale along with Emma came down to Salt Lake to help us out. It was so NICE having them with us. I was really stressed out with Everett just getting over his sickness and trying to figure out who we could leave him with while we went to the hospital for Brock's surgery. When they said they could come down, it was such a big relief off us. Emma loves the babies so much, she could have been there Mom I swear. Always concerned about them and asking where they are and how they were feeling. Especially about Brock after his surgery. Ale helped out so much with everything too. She helped cook....(uh...delicious pork tacos....so good....my mouth is watering just thinking about them!) and take care of the boys. Andon was a lot of fun too. He's such a good brother in law to drive his whole family down to Salt Lake from Boise to help out. We owe them big time.

Another fun thing we did was go up to Midway by Heber for a drive. Joaquin didn't have to work so we decided to go for a drive up the mountain. We had so much fun. I had always heard how cute it was up there being that it's a Swiss settlement. All the houses look like they belong in Switzerland. While we were there we stopped at a art studio and this amazing antique store. Seriously this place was awesome. I walked in and I felt like I had stepped into an old movie. No one was around and there was a cat roaming around. I thought I was going to see a ghost or something asking me to help them free there soul.......uh.......okay maybe not but it was really fun. If anyone wants to go, I'd go again in a heart beat.

Then our last fun thing we did was go to the Utah State Fair. I haven't been to a state fair in a really long time so Joaquin and I went last night and we had so much fun. We got to go to the Rodeo which I have to say, Everett and Brock LOVED! They're going to be little country boys I can already tell. They loved the loud country music, everyone cheering, the horse riding, everything. It was awesome. After the rodeo we walked through the area where they have all the live stock and we had fun looking at pigs and cows and chickens. I have to admit I was a little disappointed in the fact that we didn't see more red necks. That's one of the main reasons we go to fairs. There is nothing like the entertainment you get from looking at country bumpkins at the fair. There's nothing like going to the fair to look at other peoples families because it makes you feel like your own isn't quite so bad....hahahaha!! (Jeff Foxworthy said something like that.) I decided it's the county fairs that you see more of that at.

The cabin on Caribou Mountain

Having dinner inside the cabin. It had two rooms, the kitchen and the bedroom. The bedroom had 8 beds in it. We were one big happy family.

Brock getting ready for surgery. He looks like such a big boy!

Brock w/Joaquin after surgery. Poor little guy.

Midway: The Swiss architecture was so cute.

The Utah State Fair. This was just one of the honking pigs we saw. They were huge.

Brock the Goat...

Everett the Goat.....baaaaabaaaa

All of us at the Rodeo. It was so fun.

Lil Ev and his Mama.

So we have had a lot of fun but a crazy couple of weeks. I'm so grateful for our little chubs. They really are the love of our life's. Just couldn't imagine life with out these two little boys. I'm so excited for these next few months with them. Holidays are A comin' and we get to start up all those fun traditions!!!

My house smells of clean babies and deliciousness!

Brothers taken a bath together!

Happy as can be in the water...it wasn't always this way.

Brock with his rubber ducky.

All clean after their bath. Just hanging out.

The reason my house smells of deliciousness!

Ok, we had kind of a good but long day. We didn't have Church today because of the Temple dedication in Oquirrh Mountain Temple. We were not able to go to the broadcasting of this because Joaquin had to work and I had no one to watch the babies. So we decided to take the boys for a walk early this morning. Which we did but it started to rain on us so it was short and sweet. When we got back I decided I would make some of my Dad's (seriously) famous spaghetti sauce. I've never done it with out him before so I was very nervous. Well yesterday Joaquin and I bought all the ingredients and so I was able to get cookin' today. Now let me just tell you, that sauce making must be in our genes because it turned out delicious! There is something about this sauce, it just runs in the Cesarini's blood. (Hahaha!) I can't wait until Everett and Brock can start eating spaghetti. As a matter of fact, I should just throw it in their bottles and get them started on it now. The only thing is, it might be like a drug and they'd want it all the time.
Well the other part of the day, after Joaquin went to work, I tried making homemade Yams for the boys and Brock eats just about anything so he had no problem but anytime I try to feed Everett something that has a little texture in it, he gags. And not just a little bit. With the yams I added a ton of water so that it would be like the store bought yams, well he eventually got used to it but I almost had to force him eat it so he'd get used to it. Well after our yams, I gave them juice and I don't normally buy juice for them but I did and they both seemed to like it. Brock more so than Everett. He drank his bottle and the rest of what Ev didn't finish. So as I was cleaning up the kitchen I noticed Brock was being very quiet...too quiet. I saw him and he was just laying on the ground, having a good old time but then I noticed once he had rolled over he had pooh all up his back! (So gross, i know.) I had to put him in the bath and hose him off. That will be the last time I give him that much juice at once. Anyway, after he was clean, I put Everett in the bath with him and they had so much fun. So this was my fun filled day.

Hudson's Birthday!

Little Hudson

Joaquin with Brock and Everett.

One of my most best friends, Heidi, her little girl Millie and me.

Hudson had his 2nd birthday. Heidi and Brandon had it at the Hogle Zoo which I had never been to. It was a lot of fun. I think the last time I went to a zoo was when I was probably 8. I loved seeing all the animals. The boys didn't really care to much but I'm sure they'll be more interested as they get bigger. It was so fun to hang out with all Heidi and Brandon's family.

OCEANSIDE CA

The Ocean. The boys first trip to the Ocean. What a beautiful thing!

Everett fell sleeping with Dad.

Brock, pasted out after a long day of swimming.

Holy Babies!!!

Grandpa and the boys

Rich, Everett, Kiley, Steph, Brock and Cindy

Isn't Kiley sweet?!

The Fickers

The Twin Reunion. The family that comes in TWO'S!

Cindy, Me and the boys at the beach.

We road our bikes to the beach. The live that close to the beach. Gosh, some people have all the luck.
Again, at the beach.

Rich rented a little boat for all of us to ride around in. He gave us a tour of the harbor.

Everett and Cindy
Us along with Joaquin's Great Aunts who are from Missorri, who are also twins.

What a trip, what a TRIP! Oceanside California is where Joaquin's Dad and step Mom, Cindy live. We absolutely love it there! We had such a blast, the only problem was, it was too short of a trip. I was so bumbed when it came time for us to go home. But that is neither here nor there. So the whole reason for this trip was because of a Twin Reunion Joaquin's Dad had put together. There are a total of 5 sets of twins in his family. The eldest set being 78 years old and the youngest being 8 months old. It was so fun to get together and visit and get to know each other. Plus we were in So Cal so we were able to go to the beach which I was happy about. Along with a Thursday night market they have downtown. So we are so "popular" that we made the Oceanside newspaper. There was a reporter there along with a camera man. You can actually read the article online if you want. I thought the writer did a good job. (Except she spelled Andon's name wrong.) http://www.nctimes.com/news/local/oceanside/article_82c4fcab-0cd8-5c9d-9166-9d1a2c04313f.html Check it out if your interested. If this link doesn't work, I just googled, Everett and Brock Ficker and it comes up. So I'm back to good old Utah. You know, if I could do it all over again, I wouldn't buy a house, I get a trailer and just be the free spirit that I know I really am and I'd live all over the country. Just the four of us. We'd be Gypsies. I'm not sure how we'd eat but who cares, we'd be living!!! Oh in another life I suppose. ;)
