Beach - June 2012

The kids and I headed to the beach for a week at the end of June and we had a blast!  The kids LOVE the beach, sand, water... and just being outside.  This trip was much easier with Hadley in that she will actually play in the sand instead of eat it...but the chasing around the beach and into the water is in full force.  She loves the ocean better than the pool and she tries to keep up with brother in the sand.  As always, I love to have Gigi's help and although the days are crazy and full, we have fun.

Sweet summer memories!

Hadley Monthly

Hadley is 18 months old!  A year and a half!  Where has the time gone?

Our heads are pretty much always spinning with this busy girl.  She climbs like a monkey, she's curious and relentless, she's smitten with her brother, pretty attached to mama, happiest on the go and outside, fearless when it comes to trying new things, a great sleeper, an even better eater, a lover of music and dancing, a cuddler, silly and goofy, and did I mention she's busy?
Eating her first doughnut!  Yeah...she liked it.
Splash pad with the comfort of brother leading her in...
Wearing her new big girl floaties - just like brother!  She is doing great in the water this summer and the highlight of our pool is definitely going down the slide with Mommy or Daddy.  She loves it!
This picture truly captures Hadley trying to keep up with Tucker--in this picture, she's trying to climb on the stool to help him cook with Daddy :)
First time playing dress up while we were having a playdate at Kit's house - you can't find any tutu's or princess dresses at our house... yet :)
I'm so glad I have a picture of Hadley in her crocs.  She is OBSESSED with them.   The only reason I can come up with is that Tucker always wears crocs.  But, every morning after breakfast after she gets out of her high chair, she runs over the shoe basket and beats her chest (sign language for please) for you to put them on her.  She never takes them off unless you do and yes, they stink by the end of the day :)
She still loves to get into things and on top of things.
She started eating with utensils this month.  So, of course, she gets frustrated now when she can't do it...  Signs of her very independent personality are starting to shine through (someone told me that this looks very familiar).
Hadley got pretty sick this month with a fever virus.  The fever was consistently above 102 for 4 days and even reached as high as 104.5!  Tucker has always had very high temps as well so maybe it's true for both of my kids?  She sat still and in my lap for longer than she ever has before-- and I didn't mind the snuggling :)  It really wiped her out for about a week so we were glad to see her back to her normal, busy self!
She LOVES everything Tucker plays with, which of course includes all of the CARS.  She even has her own version of saying "Lightening" and "Mator".  P.S. Tucker lined these up for Hadley - I'm pretty sure she'll never put anything in order or any kind of line in her life :)
Hadley, you are FULL of LIFE and we are trying to wish this busy, tiring, non-stop season of life with you.  Thank you for always reminding us to laugh and stay on our toes - you add a very spontaneous, carefree element to our family!

Visit from Grandparents - May 2012

Grandpa and Grandma came to visit in May and the kids had a blast!  Having constant attention and adults on the ground playing with you at all times is hard not to love :)

Making coffee for Grandpa at the cafe in Discovery Place
Tucker heaven: sitting close to Grandpa while he watches the diggers work outside
Hanging with Grandma on the screened in porch

Gpa and Gma gifted us a night away while they were here... it was wonderful! THANK YOU for the 24 hour getaway and for taking great care of the kiddos!

Ice cream treats!
We look forward to next time!

End of school

The last day of school was complete with lunch, ice cream cone cupcakes, and lots of fun with Tucker's good buddies!
We loved Tucker's 1st preschool teachers-- Mrs. Becky and Mrs. Ann.   They were the perfect balance of firm and nurturing and Tucker was loved so well this year!

Hadley was of course trying to sit and eat with the big kids!
Tucker made a cute t-shirt to remember his friends and teachers by.
Mrs. Becky!
Tucker and his best buddies, Max and Miles.  Thankful for these sweet friendships that made going to school something to look forward!

We love Sonshine Preschool and look forward to Tucker being in the 3 day, 3 year old class this upcoming year!

Bermuda!

Back in May, our whole family took a big trip to Bermuda to celebrate with my brother Anthony and Lindsey as they got married.  There were a lot of firsts on this trip-- first plane ride for the kids, first hotel stay (that Tucker can remember), first cab ride, first tropical island, and first wedding.  It was honestly a pretty hard trip trying to wrangle the kids on a weird schedule and in a foreign country but we made some great memories and we were happy to be able to celebrate with my brother and his family.  Enjoy some pictures that I took and you can go to this link and/or this link to see the amazing pictures that my dear friend and amazing photographer, Sharon Clark took.  What a treat to have her on the trip with me!  Congratulations Anthony and Lindsey - We look forward to sharing life together as our families grow!
1st plane ride!

 Rehearsal dinner
 1st Shirley Temple :)

 Gigi and Scarlett

 Love these two!

Favorite pictures from the day - Beautiful bride, Lindsey!

I had to take a picture of the 10 minutes that Hadley actually fell asleep on the plane.  10 out of ya know, 7 or so total hours in the air :)
