Thanksgiving '09...

We had a wonderful time with both of our families at Thanksgiving...
The boys built forts with their cousins at both homes. The first was built out of old tires and barb wire....
The next was built out of bamboo... So fun! This was the kind of things we would do when we were young... I love that my kids do the same things.. And I have to admit the forts are pretty cool! Good job, Boys!
Double A had fun taking care of her sweet baby cousin, Jewel.... She is such a little mommy...
Then my amazing Grandma Ruth ,who just had cancer removed and is 85 years young, did the zip line! Ummm, Can we say Amazing? Well, that is what she is! Absolutely Amazing!!!!! Love that woman! I want to be just like her when I grow up!
Lots of family.... I didn't get my camera out enough at the Napier house.. But I assure you it was just as wonderful!
I am so Thankful for my wonderful family!

Christmas is kind of scary?

A little interaction I thought was cute between my 7 year old and me last night...
"Christmas is kind of scary.."
In my mind I was thinking because Santa comes into your house while you are sleeping kind of thing... " Why is it scary?" I asked...
"Because you are not sure if you are going to get any presents from Santa.. Like what if you have just been Medium?"
"Hmmm... Medium? Maybe you should just try really hard to be good."
"But It is so hard sometimes.. And I am not bad. Sometimes I am just medium.."
" Well" I said, "I guess Santa knows if being Medium is your best..But I would try really hard to be good."
So at least I am grateful the girl has a conscience!

Hungry?

Well, how about some macaroni waffles? Mmmmmmm.... Tasty.......
Yep the things my Tiny A does while I am folding laundry.. All I can do is laugh! I think it is so funny! At least she has a good imagination!!! :)

Don't get too close....

Going Home......

Last weekend I went out to my parents to help out with Shipping... Because of crazy schedules and sick kiddos It was just Tiny A with me... It is amazing what you can feel and learn when it is quiet. Tiny A was asleep and as I pulled on to 107 heading to the ranch I could see the mountains, my home.. It was such an overpowering feeling.... I felt and remembered so many feelings I had as a girl growing up here. So many things I had not remembered until this day.. Then I suddenly had the thought that this must be what it is like when we return home to our Father in Heaven. I imagine that in that journey home we will start to see people and things that we have always known, that were always right there in our hearts but until we get to that point we won't remember. It must be such an amazing experience. It then reminded me of the quote that I have right here on my blog...
Nothing is going to startle us more when we pass
through the veil
to the other side than to realize how well we know our
Father and how familiar His face is to us..
~President Ezra Taft Benson

I don't think I understood this qoute the way I did on this day... Sometimes it takes these quiet moments to remember the things that are so beautiful to us.. And it gave me comfort knowing that those loved ones that have already gone before us had a beautiful journey of remembrance.
I so loved this drive home and the quiet moments I had feeling the sweet spirit. I took pictures as I was driving out... And when I hit the little road to my parents house I looked up and this rainbow was surrounding the sun... ( I think they call it a sundog or something like that) But it brought me to tears... Even with out the storms sometimes we still get a rainbow to remind us of Heavenly Father's love for us.. I am so grateful for those quiet moments...

Marathon training!!!

So I am training for my first marathon... Being at the Ironman World Championships was very inspiring, I guess. And when you tell Matt you want to do something, you better be prepared to follow through with it.. I told him, kind of hesitantly, while we were still in Hawaii that I might like to run a marathon. With in 2 hours I had a marathon to run in, a training schedule.. And the funny thing is I needed to start that day to be ready in time.. So I started training in Hawaii. I was really worried about it.. Was Not really sure I could do it, but now after having a few weeks of training in I am much more confident and am actually starting to get really excited for it.. Matt has ran with me on my long runs and the kiddos will come along too. The older 2 will run part of it then turn around and the middle 2 kiddos will ride their bikes with us and Matt pushes Aspyn.. Last week I had to do my first 10 miler by myself.... Matt was at work and the kids were at school. It was an eye opener for me... Not to mention that I had been fighting the flu and still had a bad cough.. But I did it... And learned I could still push through... My pace was definitely slower... I sat around 8 minute pace for most of it.... Hopefully this weeks long run won't be that slow... I am determined to run it with Matt this week, even if I have to wait and do it at night when he gets back from LA.. I am waiting for him.... I love working out with my family.. They rock! They are so much fun to have out there.. And you kind of forget about yourself and pay attention to them.. Just like having them around I guess... :) Hee Hee.. If you really know me you know that the "I guess" is definitely an understatement... I LOVE having my family around me!!!! LOVE every minute of it!!!
