March 27, 2009.....My little Girl is 4

The month of march has been filled with all kinds of fun, but nothing quite as exquisite as Sarahs Fancy Nancy birthday party with her friends. They all dressed up in there fanciest duds and came to celebrate the big day. The party was just great, but didn't come together easily. The night before I was trying to hurry and get her cake decorated after she had gone to bed. I started to lose some of my vision as one of my nasty migrains was coming on. I had played basketball earlier which had been setting these headaches off all season. I couldn't really see what i was doing as I decorated the cake, but had to get it done anyway. It was probably the worst looking cake I had made, but I knew Sarah would love it no matter what. I got the cake done and set it on the buffet so she would see it when she got up in the morning. The next day she squealed with delight at her wonderful cake. We then quickly loaded up her brothers to get them to school. When we got back half of the cake was gone!! It took me a minute to figure out what happened, but there was only one expanation--ROWDY! Of course he was nowhere around the crime scene, so I went and checked his kennel and there he was squished up in a little ball in the very back corner. I do not believe that dogs don't know they did something bad if you dont catch them in the act--he knew. I slammed his kennel door shut and yelled at him for a while and then called Ry who told me not to kill the dog. Sarah was crying--"Rowdy ate my Fancy Nancy cake this isn't a fun birthday" and I was trying to figure out what to do with less than 2 hrs. til her birthday party and still lots to do. We ran to Smiths and picked out another cake and printed off a picture of fancy nancy to lay on top--Needless to say it was a way cuter cake than the original. All of her friends started showing up around 10:00. I called the pizza place around 10:30 so that we could eat by 11:30-12. They told me the pizza would take 45min to an hour to be delivered so that would work out just great. The pizza had still not been delivered by 11:45 so we ate cake and ice cream first just in case it never came. I called all the parents and told them their kids could stay longer to watch Thumbelina and thank goodness they did because lunch didn't come until about 12:20. Even with all the craziness the party turned out great and Sarah had lots of fun. She is the sunshine in our little world and we are so blessed to have her in our lives.

Happy 9th Bday Seth

Marh 17, 2009 is always a very exciting and green day around here. Not only is it St. Patricks Day, but it is the day I became a mother and a very special little guy entered the world. My Seth is so big now I cant believe it. Time is going way too fast and he is going to be grown before we know it. He had a great birthday which included a pokemon cake made by mom, a giant fish balloon , lots of loot from everyone and fun toys and candy from aunts and uncles. Thanks to all of the family who came by to wish Seth a happy day. Later on in the month Seth also got to take three of his best friends to see Monsters vs Aliens at the movie theater. They had a blast.

March 12, 2009 Seth Gets his Wolf Badge

I guess we are now parents of a scout on his way to getting his Bear. After serving in scouts for over 2 years I thought we would get Seths Wolf badge really quickly, but I am still a busy parent and he got his badge just days before his birthday which is the cutoff. He is such a wonderful son, big brother, and friend. He loves the scouting program and has fun learning new things. He is so creative and kind to those around him. Hopefully we will be more on the ball in getting his Bear badge. Congrats Seth you are awesome.
