it was a very....

....Wicked evening!!

there are very few times in a persons life that they can be truly, honestly surprised...well, my mom had one of those moments recently!

"sisters"....my auntie joan and my mom!

...my mom had a pretty big birthday coming up...and well, my aunt felt she needed to come help celebrate...here's the kicker...she lives in Connecticut and we haven't seen her in about two years!

needless to say, after many a phone call and sneaking around, we got her down here! brett picked her up from the airport on a thursday evening...my mom & sister arrived to my house friday around lunch...and to my mom's surprise, out walked auntie joan!

the weekend was filled with laughter, shopping, visiting, food and fun!! for Christmas i had given mom tickets for Wicked...and as our wonderful luck would have it, auntie joan was able to get a ticket too! we had a scrumptious dinner at GianMarco's and then an AMAZING time at the play...Wicked is WONDERFUL!

we don't get many opportunities for some real good girl time...it was priceless! the kids loved having everyone in town and we loved being able to celebrate mom!

we concluded the weekend with sunday lunch at my house and everyone (except a sickly evie & nicky!) was able to come up to celebrate mom and visit with auntie!

mom said we put the candles on backwards....oh the denial phase!...lol :)

thank you auntie for visiting and helping make mom's birthday even more special!!

we LOVE...

....LOVE day!!

and i LOVE that i was off to be with my family that day :)

we started the morning off with our {LoveBug} gifts and a nice warm breakfast....amazing what momma can do with a few days off!

it was I Love Reading Day so the kids got to wear their PJs, have a yummy snack and read with their parents...

and we LOVED being able to celebrate a day early this sweet girl's FIRST birthday!

i still can't believe it has already been a year...

it was a wonderful valentine's day....full of things we LOVE!!

a cold day...

....on the softball field!

it was one of those beautiful february days that when the sun was out, it was cool but gorgeous....though the moment the sun went down it was down right CHILLY!

we came prepared with TONS of layers and fleece hats, yes even under our helmet!

the cold didn't bother grant...he was having fun!

....even daddy was bundled up!

we even made the hat work while wearing our face mask in the field!

ok...now we're done...it's COLD!...

finishing up...

gotta love a little girl time :)

so thankful for an off day, especially whe you open your eyes to this snuggled next to you...

and one more day of girl time....and me playing with my phone and new camera app :)

over christmas break brett took on a little home improvement project....tiling our bathroom/laundry room....he did an AMAZING job!...though midway through his knees were bothering him, so i fashioned him some knee pads...

not a great pic of the finished product but a GREAT job!

of course one renovation lead to another....above the washer and dryer is some amazing shelving that need a little *upgrade* too....i felt pretty baskets helped make the space look more finished...
