Feeding the ducks

The Ducks and Geese are migrating and they have stopped in our town by the hundreds if not thousands. We take the kids to the park to feed the ducks and usually there are a handful of ducks and geese to feed. There are tons of them right now, and they are not shy. They come right up to you and eat the bread right out of your hands. One day they swarmed us and we dropped the bread and they started pecking at my shoe and following us to our car. Only the geese are so brave to come right up to you, and they beat up on the ducks when they try to get some bread. If you notice little Gordy is not in any of the pictures, that is because he saw all the birds coming and ran up the bank to Daddy. How many times can a 3 year old get stitches in two weeks?
1 Urgent care visit requiring surgical glue to close the wound. approx $249.00
this time requiring 9 stitches. approx $360.00
All the high fives and knuckles he's getting from other males
while being officially inducted into boyhood.
$ PRICELESS
Ok I guess I should explain the recent events that led up to so many stitches.
Little Gordy is definitely his Fathers Son. He is active and into everything, never sits still
climbs on everything. Jumps off everything. A ton of Fun!!
The first trip to the urgent care was a result of a run in with a hot cocoa mug at Walmart.
I was unloading the shopping cart at the checkout, with the help of my little injury magnet.
When I pulled a mug out of the cart as he was bending down to hand me something.
One loud dink to the eyebrow and we were off the the Urgent care to get stitches.
It was such a freak accident, I still don't know how it happened.
Thankfully the urgent care said the gaping wound wasn't to deep and they could just glue it closed, no shots. So we glued it and headed for a treat, this time it was a bubble blowing set.
He was such a big Boy, and so Brave.
OK injury #2
This time we were at the School picking up the girls, I was talking to another parent in the hall.
little Gordy was of course running all over the office while Alexis chased him.
He came running through the doorway, tripped, fell and hit the metal door jam.
This wound was the worst I have ever seen. It cut through every layer of skin and you
could see the white bone underneath. Off to the Urgent care again, this time we went to the Hospital's Urgent care center. We got there and I told the triage nurse I think I see bone, they said no chance of gluing this one. It took 9 stitches total to close this one. 2 internal and 7 on the outside. He missed his nap so he fell asleep while we were waiting for a room. The Urgent care did such a good job numbing up the wound, he slept through the shots and the stitching.
The staff at the desk said they were impressed at how good he was during stitches.
They couldn't believe he slept through the whole thing.
The stitches have not slowed him down one bit. I am constantly chasing him and trying to divert him from hazardous things like door jams, and table corners. We are strongly considering getting him a little motorcycle helmet to wear all the time.

Our Fearless Guard Dog
This post is for our Family members that wanted to see How are dog is growing.
She is the best dog ever, I take her running with me and she is soooo protective.
I run with other ladies sometimes, and she won't let anyone run behind me, they have to stay where she can see them. I took her to a secluded running spot a couple of months ago and someone was running behind me and she was going nuts watching them the whole time,
they came out of nowhere it was kinda wierd, they ran behind me for a couple of minutes
and then walked for a couple of minutes, and then left. I think maybye my Police dog scared them off. She is A Great dog and incredibly intelligent. I can't wait to get another German Shepherd dog to be her friend

Christmas Eve
This year we added a new tradition to our Christmas eve, We decided to have hour derv es
for our Christmas eve dinner. We had little smokies, meat and cheese trays,
pepperoni rolls, fudge, rice krispie treats, chips and I forgot the sparkling apple cider.
It was fun to just eat party snack food for dinner, next year I have more snacks and candies
to add to our dinner. The kids liked the all you can eat snacks.

Who's that Santa?
This year I found a Santa suit at a thrift store for I think $8.00, minus the beard. We drove all over town looking for a beard and they were sold out everywhere, so we borrowed one.
I had grand ideas of one of our neighbors dressing up like Santa and putting on a show for the kids. Well I couldn't get a neighbor to dress up, So guess who is behind that Santa suit?
Uh Oh Santa, caught the kids watching him out the window, while shelf elf was reporting how good they have been this year.
Here is Santa talking to shelf elf out in the yard. Little Gordy and Alexis were going nuts watching out the window. In case you were wondering Shelf elf is a little elf we only get out during Christmas time. He sits on a shelf somewhere in the house, and in the middle of the night he goes to the North Pole to report to Santa ,if the kids are being nautey or nice. When shelf elf returns he finds a new place in the house to sit and observe, we have even caught him hanging out on top of the ceiling fan. By the way when shelf elf is found in one of the kids rooms, it is a great motivator for them to clean their room so he doesn't tell Santa they are messy.
Here's what Santa Claus does after a long Christmas Season of making gifts.(and dressing up)A Handmade Christmas
This year for Christmas each of our children either bought or made something for all of our Family. Kristal bought everyone gifts that they loved and Kailee knitted everyone a scarf,
if you look at some of our Christmas morning pictures you will see some of us wearing our scarves.
Alexis Wrapping the homemade warmers Mom helped her sew and stuff for everyone
Little Gordy painted his hand and snow on Christmas ornaments for everyone.
Here is little Gordy's hands and feet wreath.Gordy did most all of it, I just helped a little with the decorating and furniture.
We pulled an all nighter till abut 6:0o a.m. finishing it up just before Christmas.
Alexis Loved it!!!

The Nativity
Gordy and I were privileged to play Mary and Joseph in a live Nativity scene held by our church for the community. It was an AWESOME experience. We felt very humbled to play Mary and Joseph. The Nativity was held in a part of the community that hosts a large Christmas lights display, there were probably 3000 cars that drove through and viewed the Nativity display.

Little Gordy's 3rd Bday
before little Gordy woke up the morning of his Birthday. We barricaded him
into his room with streamers all across the door and balloons all over the floor.
He woke up and was surprised!

Hanging Christmas lights
Hanging Christmas lights video
By the way my commentary during this video was and example of a shocked Mother, In the video I say our 6 year old and 2 year old are on the roof, well Alexis is actually 7 years old in this video, I think I kinda lost my mind for a moment when I saw them on the roof.
