Any ideas?

Jacob did wonderfully well.  He received a blessing before the surgery which essentially guaranteed a miraculous recovery.  We went to the hospital, Jacob, me and "buddy" who is Jacob's friend that he made to provide support.  (thank goodness for a wonderful friend who put together a buddy kit.)  Buddy did a really good job getting his IV and so did Jacob.  At the hospital we waited and waited until it was our turn.  Jacob was very good.  He told me that he was hungry and if I didn't feed him, "he would die."  He is kind of a drama.  The surgery lasted about an hour and half.  The purpose of the surgery was to close his palate.  After the prosthesis removal he still had a slit or "canyon" that needed to be closed up tight.  The doctor took tissue from the roof of the mouth and covered the slit.  He covered it one two layers.  I don't really know how this worked.  It is amazing to me.  I didn't think there is enough skin to do that.  But the surgeon did it.  Jacob was supposed to stay overnight at the hospital "to ensure his airway."  Which in layman's terms means "make sure he doesn't suffocate."  This is where the miracle came in.  Jacob came out of recovery and immediately asked for juice.  He didn't cry or anything.  He did phenomenally well and I took his cue and decided that we didn't need to stay at the hospital.  So they released us!!  We came home and Jacob has been doing great.  He has to eat soft foods for a bit but that is the easy part.  I am so proud of him.  I have posted pictures of the canyon..  And of Jacob with his buddy.
