It's A...

Well after a long 20 weeks of anticipation we finally know what we're having!! It was well worth the wait although we thought we would have to wait much longer, like until the baby was born. For me trying to sleep last night was like a five year old waiting for Christmas morning. I woke up every hour on the hour wondering if it was morning yet. Around 7am I finally just gave up on sleeping and got up. Anyway, our appointment was set for 1pm and we got there a couple minutes early, luckily we didn't have to wait too long because that 40 ounces of water that I had to drink was weighing on my bladder and they would not let me go to the potty until the ultrasound was done. So when they finally started it the sonographer's first statement was, "I hope you guys want it to be a surprise because this baby is breach." Turns out that the baby had it's butt tucked down towards my cervix and then legs crossed Indian style. Needless to say I guess our baby's a prude. So finally she did a lot of shaking and moving my belly around until the baby woke up and moved around so that she could see what we were having. So we found out and everything looked great and we had an appointment with the doctor right after the ultrasound which went well as well. However, when we hit the parking lot and we leaving, some insane woman decides that she's going to back into our car. So we had fun exchanging insurance information and then she turns to say that since she was backing up, she had the right of way. At that point I had it and slightly lost it, I mean seriously, what kinda idiot thinks that you have the right of way when you're going in reverse. I mean just from looking at the amount of damage done to our car it was obvious that she either didn't check behind her or she ignored the fact that someone is behind her. So needless to say all of the things we had planned for today were not accomplished because we spent the day going to a police station (which was pointless because the other driver wouldn't go) and on the phone going back and forth between our insurance company and hers and then finally going to get an estimate on the cost of fixing the car. So after filing the claim with her insurance and our insurance I think everything is settled now, we just have to get a new rear left door which is supposed to be done next week. So anyway, you've probably noticed that I haven't mentioned what we're having yet...well that's intentional, I'm going to make you wait (for those of you who don't already know) until I finish typing all this wonderful information. We were able to get some short videos of the baby as well as a couple of pictures so enjoy looking at them!

So I suppose you have waited long enough after reading all that and seeing all the pictures I will share with you what we're having. It's a...

GIRL!!!!!

Needless to say we're very happy to be having a girl in that that's what we both really wanted, but in the end we're more excited to know that she's healthy. So I guess this is your first official introduction to I. Fox!

On The Move

So early Tuesday morning, about 7:30am, I was sitting at school waiting for the bank to open and studying for my final to pass the time. I was sitting very still and for the first time I can say I was 100% positive that I felt our baby moving, and I have felt it move so much since then. It feels like flipper is flopping around in my stomach so I think I'll refer to him/her as flipper instead of Booger (maybe B will like that a little more). Although, hopefully after tomorrow I'll be able to refer to him/her by his/her actual name but that will only work if it's a girl. If it's a boy he'll be called Flipper until we can think of and agree on a name for him. But anyway, back to the baby movement. This is the most awesome experience, not to mention a huge relief. I am a worrier and I always wanna know that everything is okay and now that I can feel it moving I am constantly reassured that all is well. Every time that i feel him/her moving in there I smile or laugh, I think B might think I'm crazy, but all I know to say is that it's an amazing feeling to be able to FEEL life inside of you. I do think we'll have to work on his/her bedtime though because kicking and flipping around isn't necessary at 11pm. Another discovery that I've made is that he/she moves around more after I eat, be it breakfast, lunch, dinner or a snack. I must be a really good cook because I think it really likes my food. ha ha. Anyway, I'm sure you'll all be hanging around the blog tomorrow waiting for me to post. And I just ask you to be patient, I promise you I will post tomorrow though. I already have a list made out of people to call, people to email and people to text message, so after that's done then I'll jump on here and post. Deal?...Deal. (Not that it would matter if you said no deal anyway)! ha ha. Until tomorrow...

30 Months and Counting...

Okay, so today marks our 30 months ago I followed through with the best decision that I ever made! Today is our 2.5 year anniversary, I have loved everyday of it and look forward to the rest of eternity. It honestly doesn't seem like it's been that long so I guess it's true what they say, time flies when you're having fun. Believe me, I'm having the time of my life. I can look back and still say that B is my soul mate and the absolute perfect companion. Anyway, it's bedtime, have a good night!

Half Way There!!

Well we're now 20 weeks and technically halfway done! It's an exciting time for us right now. In a few days we'll be having an ultrasound and hopefully (based on baby's cooperation) finding out what we're having. U's finally starting to show so that it's noticeable to other people which she really, really enjoys and she's also almost finished with school and that has her extremely happy as well! Not much else has happened this past week except we picked up C & Å (B's sister and brother-in-law) from the airport on Friday night. They flew in from Norway so we were able to spend Friday night and all day Saturday with them and the rest of the family which was tons of fun and lots of laughs. We took a short trip to the park and B decided it was time to take a picture of U's belly, the picture will be posted below. This week we get to sign up for all of our birthing classes which is kind of exciting to do even though we won't start them for another 2 months at least because you're supposed to start them at 28 weeks. All in all we're doing really well and are really excited about all that is to come, life has treated us kindly and for that we're extremely grateful. Take a look at the pictures below!

Linea Nigra

That's that dark line that runs down your belly when you're pregnant, well I've got one!!! I dunno when it appeared but it's there now and I dunno why I'm so excited about it, but I am! ttyl.

Just A Quick Add-On

So B is hilarious, he is convinced that he remembers not only being a baby but he also claims to remember the womb. He talks about how "warm it was in there" and how he loved swimming around in there. When he talks about it he is absolutely hilarious and I think he just says it to make me laugh. But next time you see him or talk to him, you should ask him what it's like in there, maybe you'll laugh as hard as I do.

I Don't Have A Good Title to Put Here, So Lets Get Started...

One more week and we'll be half way there!!!! As you can probably tell that really excites me, but not as much as the thought of the ultrasound. Some people keep telling me not to get over excited just in case the baby doesn't wanna cooperate or they can't tell gender for whatever reason. But honestly, I just wanna see my baby move again, everything else will just be an added bonus. Last night before bed B walked in and caught me laying on the bed while holding a mirror above me and checking out my belly. At first he thought it was weird and asked what I was doing, so I explained to him that I can't "see" my belly like everyone else, so I wanted a different view of things. Then he decided that it made perfect sense.

I told you all that at my last doctor appointment on Wednesday, my doctor put me on medication to lower my blood glucose readings and well, it didn't go very well. I found that it was lowering my sugar levels TOO much. I would get readings in the mid-sixties when I would check and they're never supposed to drop below 60. Since they were falling so low they made me extremely weak, tired and cause me to get the shakes or trembles. So I called this morning and he just told me to completely stop taking the medication and that we would figure it all out at my next visit on the 25th.

Lastly, on Saturday we were finally able to meet up with our new friends Nicole, Taylor and their daughter Rosie. Nicole contacted me several months ago via MySpace, they were living in Cali at the time but her husband had just started a new job as a pilot with Northwest Airlines. So long story short she contacted me to find out more about the area and the church in the area and all that fun stuff. They actually moved here a few months ago but this was the first time we were able to get together. We went to PizzaPapalis and enjoyed some great pizza then walked around the city a bit.

All-in-all we've had an excellent week and look forward to having another awesome week in that C (B's sister) and her husband Å are flying in from Norway on Friday. So it should be another exciting week. Until next post...enjoy life!

Yesterday's Appointment

Yesterday's appointment went really well. When I went to the doctor I took my BP monitor with me so that I could have the nurse check it versus their machine. Well, she first did it with their automatic machine and it came back 150/97 (really high, I know), so then she checks it with my machine and it returns 138/87, she then goes to get the manual one, which is seen as the most accurate of those methods, and it returns 142/87. Technically the doctor is supposed to go by the manual read. So I showed the nurse some of my readings from when I'm at home and she says that I probably just have "White Coat Syndrome" which I would totally believe. I mean, that's the only other explanation I can think of that would explain why it is perfectly normal at home and then really high at the doctor's office. But anyway, once he entered and we talked about it, he really didn't seem as concerned as he had been previously but he was very glad that I decided to invest in the monitor so that I can keep track of it at home. He still wants me to do a 24 hour urinalysis, which lemme tell you sounds like great fun!!! He also put me on 2.5mg of Glyburide to lower my glucose levels. He did say that whereas they are not extremely high numbers, my after dinner numbers have consistently been above 120 so he wants to try to bring those down. All in all I am very relieved that he is so thorough and on top of things, even on the occasion when he annoys the heck out of me. If it leads to us having a healthy baby then I'll deal with it. The heartbeat was around 160 which is really good and makes me happy so it's even better. Anyway, I'd better get going. ttyl

What's In A Name?

Absolutely nothing!!!

With that said, I will tell you that I have finally decided on a name to refer to the baby as. Well at least until we find out what we're having and/or decide on a name (if it's a boy we're still clueless). Anyway, it's just a little nickname and B absolutely hates it. Call me ghetto (go ahead, I don't mind, I love my ghettoness) but I absolutely love it and think that it's funny. And besides, aren't nicknames supposed to be just that?!?! Anyway, the name is "Booger." I don't know why, it just popped into my head one day. And don't worry, I promise that I will not call the baby this after he/she is born, but I think this name is much more original than Peanut or something like that.

Week In Review

It's been a long week and probably at least that long since I last posted. So let's see where I should start off. So after all the stress and worrying from last week, I went on the internet and bought a blood pressure monitor. I read lots and lots of reviews and based on those reviews I picked the best one. Well once I got it and tested it, I found that my BP was reading 30 points lower on average than it reads when I go to the doctor. That is a HUGE difference, so I really didn't know whether to be happy that it was actually dramatically lower or to be pissed that I got a bad machine. So I called up a friend from church whose husband is a resident and asked if he could double check my blood pressure with his devices and see if mine is actually accurate. Well we tested it and it's accurate, so now when i go to the doctor on Wednesday I will take it with me and tell him of my experiences and even let him check it out if he wishes. So yay, needless to say I'm much less stressed about that.

Last week was a crazy busy week and I'm so glad that it's over! It did end on a good note on Friday night when we went to a Piston's game. It was our second game of the season (we go to another tomorrow which will be our third and final for this year). Anyway, for Valentine's day I bought a package deal for B where we got tickets, a $20 gift card, 2 Martini glasses (which are cool but we have no use for) and an autograph session with a player (Amir Johnson). Below I'll share some pictures with you. We also got a visit from B's family which was great, it enabled me to relax and have some fun to de-stress. We always have a lot of fun when they come to visit. On Sunday we watched Conference and then went for a walk at the park, pictures also follow of that (I think). Anyway, enjoy the pictures.

There's probably a ton of other things that I forgot to mention, but like I said it was a crazy week, but I'll try not to wait another week before I post again. ttyl.
