MEANINGLESS RAMBLINGS....

the most anticipated holidays is almost here. new year. new beginnings.... or is it another year to make resolutions u cant keep, make the same mistakes u made the year before? It seems like only yesterday when we were worrying about Y2k... and now it's 10 years later.... 3650 days. geez. that seems like a lifetime itself.

10 years ago:
1. we were concerned about the millenium bug, planes and computers crashing at the stroke of midnite
2. taxi's starting price was still $2.40 and it jumps at increments of 10cents.... and there were only blue, yellow, black and the occasional white smrt cabs to choose from.
3. GST was probably still 3%
4. handphones were getting smaller and smaller. but now it just seems like the trend's going the opposite way
5. i was worrying about my O level grades
6. there wasnt 9/11 yet and bush was still president
7. Goh Chok Tong was still prime minister
8. using ICQ was da bomb.... the HORROR
9. no one knows what uploading or downloading meant
10. i was still hanging out at parkway like its the hippest place on earth
11. Britney and NSYNC were the biggest shits in music
12. No one has ever heard of reality tv
13. Channel 5 was still showing sitcoms on tv..... like FRIENDS
14. Tiger woods was still pre "trangressions"
15. i was still a virgin

hahaha ok la no 15 still true unfortunately. dammit. so what has changed since then..... eh. pretty much nothing. i'm still.... me. more cynical. more world weary...... slightly richer with slightly less hair with slightly bigger stomach than before. let's just hope 2010 will be better for everyone and i'll be happier... one can only hope. ABS here i come....i know u are lurking somewhere down there. PLEASE COME OUT.

Readers who are anticipating super haps update during this long break would be greatly disappointed because truthly, this Xmas was quite meh, blah, uneventful, boring.... well at least the parts which i had nothing to do were. I dun even have any photos to show. so sad. and the worse thing was i dunno why i spent so much money in 5 days!! :(

I ran out of office to JE in the morning of Xmas eve to make a pair of new specs because to put it simply, i was bored and i think i needed new specs. and i bought daily contacts as well. BAM 300bucks gone.

Had a Xmas eve lunch with Skee and Carol at our new fav hangout PS Cafe. Actually we were supposed to have it at Cedele at Great world city but the carpark queue was to fantastically long we decided to jump ship. which turned out to be a good thing.... becuase PS cafe food rocks. and i had my sangria along with it. WOOOohoooo! mid day alcoholic drink FTW!! :) and i got my first ever xmas present (or rather after a very long long time). an autobiography of a stripper from USA. hahahaha LOVES IT. Carol u know me too well. ok damage done over lunch was i think...... 60bucks.

Bored to death at nite, i begged khalid to go clubbing with me, which he obliged. but we didnt club in the end, we just drank at some pub. cos he was too tired and so were his frens. DAMN BORING XMAS EVE PLEASE. went home at like 1am.

ehhhhhh on xmas day what did i do ah.... hmmm that would be a BIG FAT NOTHING.

on boxing day what did i do ah....... hmmmm i went to my aunties house to eat popiah and curry chicken and prawns and shit loads of other food and also partly to celebrate Aunt Pamela's bday. yeah. ok quite nice to spend family time but overall...... meeeeeeeeh.

on the 27th...... ate lunch at granny's cos my paternal auntie came back from Malaysia and was leaving soon. and then had to rush home to dress up to go watch Sherlock Holmes, which was before Weizong's wedding. Sherlock holmes was pretty ok i guess..... not as exciting as i tot it would be.... i guess Avatar just set too high a standard for movies to be awesome now.... and then we trotted to Sheraton for the wedding which frankly i didnt care much for. i was just there to drink all the wine i can get for $100. But i gotta admit Sheraton's interior looked so LUX. certainly would not have guess that from its exterior which was pretty chui. Couples can go there and take a look!

And then at nite i went.... yes you've guessed it right. CLUBBING AGAIN. hahaha at zirca. it seems like if i have nothing to do at nite, i would be at establishment that serves copious amounts of alcohol. SO FUN PLEASE. danced until 4am and made out with random strangers.... gotta love that. i think i have a thing for angmohs and angmohs have a thing for me..... i seem to be attracting way too many of them. damn. and 2 times of clubbing i think i probably spent another 100bucks in total. :( major pocket bleed.

Monday went out for lunch with my aunties and mother and cousins at Ion's IMperial Kitchen (which is basically a crystal jade rip off but just as good) and then we spilted way and i went to do my own shopping..... which is really a bad thing cos sometimes i am an impulse buyer (see spectacles purchase above) and i blew 100bucks on a pair of short shorts and t-shirt from Woonderland. SIGH. my bonus ALL GONE. Had a few hours to kill before meeting janelle shanny mala and van for dinner at PS. so i went to PS cafe (at paragon, pun not intended) to read my magazine and drink passion fizz. yums. Janelle is back crazier than ever and glad that everyone else found a job. which isnt an easy feat considering this screwed ecomony. not bad not bad!! too tired from too many late nites so decided to call it a day at 930pm.

So yeap that's it. my NECK is freaking KILLING ME for the past 3 days... i dunno what the hell is wrong with my bones. i used to think i have colon cancer cos i get diahorrea all the time but now i think i might have bone cancer. HOW HOW!!! super not feeling it right now with both my back and neck fucked. booohhringggg.

Year ends are the best time for gatherings and meetings. which is why i felt like a freaking socialite this weekend.

Went to watch Avatar in 3D on Friday nite with Siwei. Avatar is SUPERBLY AWESOME omg i dun even know where to begin..... luscious landscapes, fantastic graphics, moderately ok script.... made me wish i have my own dinosaur bird so i can FLY even thou i hate fast speeds and heights. The movie ended at 1230am so i had to take cab home... :( And taking cabs at Orchard at that time is IMPOSSIBLE.

Anyway woke up at an ungodly hour of 9am on Saturday to go to SENTOSA>..... i tot i was going to be late but in the end i was still one of the Earliest!!! FML. We played vball fo about a hour before it started RAINING. FOL. But it was fun while it lasted. I really enjoy playing vball. It is perhaps the ONLY team sports that i enjoy. I hate people. After leaving sentosa we went to harbourfront for the mandatory meal at KFC which totally rocked.

Rushed home to change and prepare for dinner with the D&D committee at Alaturka Turkish Restaurant at Arab Street!!

The food was DAMN GOOD. omg. Whack all the skewered meat like nobody's business.... at first it was quite weird cos only Mag and BL were there so it was like AWKWARD.... but when everyone came it became fun!!

I am going to be an UNCLE SOON!!!! TIGER BABY!!!! i hope its a boy and the pregnancy goes smoothly!!! i wanna handsomely cute baby nephew. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.

on a seperate note.... i am having pimple outbreak on my jaw and chin AGAIN. shit man this always happens when i am stressed. damn it. and it happens on the most impt month of the year to see and be seen. FUCK MY LIFE.

My claims for D&D came in last week. my acct finally went back to 4 digits. seriously living with only 200bucks in the bank acct is a torture.... i think i am used to being rich. and then yesterday my regular pay came in and my 13th month bonus. LIKE OMG how ROCKS is that. Even thou i paid off my debts to my mum (equivalent to one month's pay o_O) I am still rich!!! And i still have $1000 of allowance that hasnt been banked in yet. WOOOHOOO. bonus rocks.

Totally in a holiday mood now. cannot concentrate at work.... took off on Friday to prepare for the bbq at nite. Hauled my ass to the market with a bed head at 8am (!!) to buy the wings and pork chops and then came home to make the tiramisu. totally like a housewife. whisking eye white without a whisk is a pain in the ass. Went to temple and had lunch with my family before heading to the pool for a short swim and then took a cab down to meibaos house for BBQ~~!!!

I love bbqs. it may be the best type of food i like to eat. Everyone starting trickling in after 6 (as usual) but its alright. as long as they come. the food was pretty good. the squirty sausages did it's magic again. i dun think i'll ever get sick of having those.... celebrated Ak's bday with the tiramisu and drank the nite away after that. adjourned the session back to hall after being chased out by the guard. booooooooo. the concoction of alcohol and not having enuff sleep proved too much to handle and i concussed at 1am. how weak. oh well watever.

Did nothing much today except meet siwei for shopping and our new fav KFC. yes i am glad to say i am halfway done for my xmas shopping (sorry no presents. they are all for myself). 5 more items to go. retail therapy rocks. spotted a pair of really sweet looking going out shoes at far east. shud i buy. SHUD I!!!!?!?! :((((

a full week ahead at work.... geez. i dun think i will ever get used to having 5 day weeks after coming back from US and taking a day off the other weeks. SIAN. slap me now...

The past week was kinda random.

met up with see yong zhixuan jingpeng & song yao for dinner on thursday. at the most random place (tanjong pagar) eating the most random food (authentic korean stuff). Remind myself never ever to eat korean food again... to put it simply, it's not my cuppa tea. The first time I had real korean food, it was to celebrate han's bday (coincidentally with almost the same grp of people) at that korean bbq place opp haw par villa.... it kinda sucked and i swore off korean food altogether.

But you know. humans dun learn. you kinda wanna give korean "cuisine" a second chance, because maybe ya know, that first restaurant just wasnt good. NO. Korean food, hmm how shud i say it without being rude... SUCKS. It's so spicy. and everything tastes the same. they basically put everything in a hot pot and thats it. As my mum calls it "food for the pigs". hahahha. gotta love that.

I miss my old buncha hall mates. it was nice talking to a couple of them, but also realised some people just dun have enuff tact and eq. so i just shuddap after a while.

Friday.... oh yes. i needed some retail therapy so i headed to Topman at Ion and splurged on skinny jeans and that fire red shoes that i posted before. 2/10 items bought! WOOOHOOO retail therapy rocks. Now i can look red like angbao for chinese new year. Then i met weiwei for dinner... and we are both kinda broke so i said let's eat macs. den he said yeah let's try the new burger. den i said omg you know what kfc has the new black pepper chicken and we both said WE SHOULD TOTALLY JUST SHARE A MEAL AT MACS AND ANOTHER AT KFC. den we can save money, not eat so much and get the best of both worlds!!! Randomness to the max but totally loving it. and by the way the black pepper chicken rocks to the max.

After that we went to cineleisure to watch the gayest movie Twilight. We felt so gay siwei actually suggested we shud go in one by one. hahaha. of cos we didnt. we read reviews about how sucky it was so we decided to see if it's really that bad...... ACTUALLY, if the movie was about 30mins shorter it would have been alright. if they would cut away the unnecessary scenes of bella screaming in her sleep (fuck man sibei funny), of her walking and waking up in the forest (??) and other random things. And then the 2 leads running in the forest wearing burberry's Spring/summer collection 2010. wah kao super random. the whole theatre just burst out laughing. And the director must be milking every single minute of the werewolf walking around topless and wearing DEMIN SHORTs. like WHO THE FUCK walks around topless during winter months. it was SOOOO tacky and soooo cheesy and soooo GAY.

Saturday.... oh yes. random performance by the dancers at tampines safra. dancing to phantom of the opera for xmas tree light up. in victorian costume. it was. BAD. hahahhaa. went over to blk 85 for some homecooked goodness that is the bah chor mee. shiokness. and bbq chicken wings. double shiokness.

On the way to the mrt we saw cqt and ak. like how random was that. kp-ed about sebas a bit and then met up with khalid to go clubbing. WOOHOOO. SO glad i was drunk enuff to stay longer cos they started playing nicer songs towards the end. super fun!!! we shud do this again soon for XMAS!!! :))) workout of the week. woots!!

So yeah. that concludes my week. looking forward to another 4 day week. yoga on tuesday. dance camp on wed. bbq on friday. ahhhhh life is good.
