Christmas 2010

I just can't beleive it has been that long since I wrote something..I had a great Christmas... As Christmas gets closerI usualy get a bit on edge, wondering why I am doing all that stuff and why we can't just bypass Christmas..But after things get rolling I feel more in the spirit and everything goes great..Brian was able to come over with Ruth and Jackson, Liam and LAra on the 30 of december..Then we rented the Tanner senior center and had a Nelson family get together ..Brian had not see Andrew's dad foe a while now and it was great to see almost everybody..Doug and his family did not come..What a surprise...They never do..Then Jordan did not care to come either and Brittany being pregnant and working was too tired to drive the 45 minutes to come and see her cousin she has not seen for at leats 4 years..But for everybody else that came it was great..we had plenty of food, all the kids had fun,, we even invited Santa to come over and see the kids,,Everybody brought food to share and helped with the clean up..My only complaint is that not enough of them help to pay for the hall rental..we end up paying 60 % of it and DAve payed the rest..ANd we did all the decoration etc.. So hopefully next time we get together it wil be somebody else in charge..
I had a great time seeing Brian and his little family..I had not seen the kids in persons since Christmas 2009.. The twins were just little babies then. They turnes 1 on the 11 of december..it wa sso good to see them.. But They had to leave on jan 3 when they were just getting used to us..We will have to go visit then in Victoria soon..unless Brian gets posted in OAk Harbor, Washington again..He loves that place and volonteered to go back if nobody else wants to go..
Now it is January 2011.. Time to start exercising a bit more, and try to loose the weight I gained during Christmas time..I wish somebody would invent calorie free chocolate that taste great..I have to start Hcg diet again..I usualy can loose 20-25 lbs in the 40 days..It is just hard to keep it off..Dr, Pike says it is because of my thyroid problems..It is so crasy.. Sometime I hve not enough hormone sometime to much,,I am hoping that eventually I can go down and stay down,,..hope everybody will be having a great 2011 year..a dn hopefully I will write more often..

Quebec Vacation

Just came back yesterday from a short trip to Quebec to see Mom..It was a long drive there in back over 4 and a half days one way , the same to come back.. We were able to stay in Metis beach, Quebec where Mom's summer house is for 10 days...I wish it could have been longer..We mostly spent the day working on Mom's house, Spending time at the sea shore having nice fires at night time..It was great..We drove to Pointe au Pere, to visit a submarine..It is hard to beleive they had 70 crew men in this small of a space...I don't think i couldhave done that.. It was interesting,, For this vacation / work week, It was me, Andrew, Christina with KAel, Jennifer and We picked up Cayliegh in Thunder Bay, Ontario..on our way there.. So she spent some time with us.. and hopefully had a nice visit...Andrew finished the job in Regina and was off for a month.. He has received an e-mail from Wright Construction, they want him to go back to Regina for a short project..They are sending the info ..I am not sure if he will take it.. AS he is tired of working away from home..It wouyld be so nice if he could get something closer..We will see.

Christina is geting ready to go back to school in September..She is a bit nervous about it..I will be watching Kael when she is in Lethbridge doing her LPN course..I am sure she will do fine..She is a smart girl and she can do anything she set het mind to..

Brian is going at sea for 8 weeks.. somewhere around Mexico.. He is a bit worried about Ruth being by herself with the kids..He has been on paternity leave for 9 months..So they have been doing things together since the twins were born..and now he has to go..So I will be on standby, ready to go visit her and help if the need arise..

JJ and his family moves to Thunder Bay..He has a job with Wright Construction to do there.. for about a year.. They should have fun.. It will be different experience for them and should be great.. except for the packing and moving part..Nobody likes to do that...Cayleigh wil be starting grade 1.. Such a busy girl.. I hope she will like her new school and make tons of friends..

Jennifer is trying to decide if she is going back to work with Andrew and doing her upgrading thrudistance learning or if she will enroll at the college in Lethbridge to get it done.We will have to see for her final decidion..

I had a great tiem with mom..I just wish she lived closer..I did not get the chance to go visit my dad or other realatives except for the one close to Mom'd house..There was too much to do at ther place.. Andrew says we will go back next year and help her to do more..She can't find any competent worker over there.. SHe had nephew to help.. but she ended up paying for work that had to get redone.. As it was not done properly and safely..JJ will be trying to go there to to do a bit when he has a week off..

I think for next year we need to rent a place for an evening and invite all the realtives over to come and visit..Like a family reunion,,that way i would have just 2 places to go ..one in QUebec city and the other by mom's place..and hopefully that way I could see at least some of the family..We will have to see if it is possible..

I am happy to be home even If there is a lot to do..The gras is about a foot long... and we have things to do before Jack Frost pokes his nose in our part of the wood..I will let you know how we are doing soon..

Maybe I should have some info about me and my family.. I was born in Quebec, Canada.. I am a french canadian. I married a nice scottish guy that had moved to Alberta in 1970 and followed him in English speaking country..And it did seam like a complete different country then, specialy that my english was not that great.. Sorry to say that all the words that I had learned in high school did not prepare me for putting a sentence together..But with the help of a few ladies here. I finally gathered my courage and did my best to make myself understood..Over the years I made a lot of people laugh... and still after 30 years I still manage to do it..There is always some words I can't quite pronounce right.. Oh well..At least we can laugh about it..
I have 4 wonderful children and 7 grandkids..And I loved them all..
My oldest is Brian , with his wife Ruth-Ann they take care of 3 sweet kids..Jackson 2 years old and the twins Lara and Liam that were born in December 2009.. Brian is in the Canadian Navy and is proud to work for his country..
My second one is Johnathan ( we call him JJ ) him and his wife Jennifer have also 3 cute kids.. Cayleigh , who is 5 years old, Ashleigh 3 and Connor that is 18 months old..JJ is working for Wright construction as a assistant superintendant..
next one is my lovely Christina..She has a son named Kael 3 years old .He has lovely eyes with really long eyelashes that everybody envy..Specially grandma..She is a Doula and Breasfeeding consultant and his working on her LPN degree..
Then finally for the baby of the family we have Jennifer... She is an animal lover..She has 2 dogs, and 4 horses.. She has a degree from Olds college as a VMR.. But now decided to go back to school to be a Vet. So she is working and doing some upgrading ..And will be following her dreams..

one of those day..

My day did not start too bad.. until I went outside...Chris was over to pick up the truck and trailer to bring it to Regina , where Andrew is working..and He saw a dog in the bushes.. We had heard some howling for the last few days.. and were thinking it was coyotes, or wild dogs from the reserve.. I sent JJ last night to check things out with the quad but he could not see anything..the reason why ? It was in an area he can't drive thru with the quad..but anyway this morning we saw him half way up the hill in the chokecherry bushes. So i went up in the slippery mud.. just to find Tiny ( Doug's Rottweiler) with his 30 foot chain all tangled up .. For the one that don't know who Doug is,, he is my husband's brother.. It took me 20 minutes to get him free..He raced back toward his house stretching my arm for an extra few inches... or at least it felt that way..So that is when i discovered that after i had spent so many hours putting snow fence to makes sure my cows would not sneak thru the barb wires fence and go to Doug's place, His dog made holes in it..So i was not to happy..Andrew ( my husband) works away from home ..He is in Regina doing an expansion on a Walmart till July.. So he is there for 2 weeks and comes home for one..A lot of the stuff outside I end up doing.. and I don't mind..but I do mind having to do things twice or more because of some idiot .. At 52 years old , I do not want to spend my life redoing things that I thought were done and should last for at least a couple of years..
