my favorite girls
Check out Kae's photography skills and some cute pictures of Luna & my mom here. Very nice. I wish I had been there too, instead of at work!

awww
We took Garcia family portraits back in December. They turned out much better than I expected! At first I was NOT happy about having to be in the pictures! I hate pictures of myself! But I'm glad we did it, it was a really nice Christmas present for my in-laws (and my parents as well).

Monterey!
We went to Monterey for Luna's birthday. We decided that every other year we are going to take her on a birthday trip instead of having a party. Yay! We drove up & stayed the night in a hotel. Luna was soooo excited. She was running all over the room. I told her to show me parts of the room & she posed for the pictures. So cute.

The next morning we drove to the aquarium. Monterey is so beautiful! Not just the beach, but the streets & buildings are so pretty. It was fun just to walk around and look at everything. The aquarium was awesome, Luna loved all the fish.

quickly!
Aaarghh. Either I don't feel like writing on my blog, or I really do, and I don't have time!
quickly now.... Me & Luna have our birthdays 10 days apart... sissy turned 2! We decided not to have a party for her, we're taking her to Monterey (just the 3 of us) for a weekend trip, going to the aquarium, etc. So excited! What a big girl...
Louie still owes me a birthday dinner/movie date....going to see Black Swan & dinner somewhere...we're so busy though, we haven't had time yet. But last Saturday my mom did take me out for a day of pampering! It was absolutely wonderful. I have not been spoiled like that in a really long time! Plus we had a fun day just the 2 of us. We got mani/pedi's, 1-hour massages, a big luscious lunch, then some shopping. Thank you, mom.

well hello there
So it's been weeks since I've written, but really who cares? I have nothing to offer you. In other words, no pictures of Luna and no inspirational thoughts. 2010 was good, and for reasons unknown I'm feeling great about 2011. I'm even coming to grips with the fact that I turn 27 in a few weeks. My greatest accomplishment of 2010 was learning how to use fabric softener in the washing machine. I hope your year was equally successful.
Pictures of Christmas & our super-fun new years' getaway to Calistoga coming soon, with the help of my sister-in-law emailing me her pictures (you see, our camera has been broken for months).
Godspeed.

Underground Tour
My mom & I went on an underground tour in Old Sac. It was so fun! It's done through the Sacramento History Museum and I completely recommend it to one and all (not little kids though). Our tour guide was a character who was alive during the 1800's in Sacramento's early days, he had makeup to make him look like he was dead. He was funny and the whole thing was very educational and so interesting. If you've lived in Sacramento for a while, you probably know that the original city along the river was 24 feet lower than the Old Sac streets we know today. Because of flooding the streets were filled & the buildings were raised. Some of the sidewalks underground are still hollow and you can see where the buildings were raised and bastions were put up to support the new streets. There are way more details, and like I said, you should go check it out for yourself! It's closed now for the winter, but it will open up again in April, along with a new underground area being added onto the tour.
Just a pretty little area in Old Sac.
Cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeese!
Underground now... we're so cool :)
The guide only gave us about 2 minutes to take pictures while we were underground, because I don't think we were supposed to at all! So, I only got a couple. But you can see the bastions there against the wall. It doesn't seem secure! I feel like the sidewalks above could collapse at any moment! The guide claimed it was safe, though...
In our gear before the tour started. Don't really think the helmets are necessary... but it was fun to look a little ridiculous.
