Finally managed to visit the great grand Great Ocean Road. Well, it was a day filled with exciting events, not only during the tour, but things that happened before and after the tour. It started out that I woke up at 5am to prepare food for the trip, sandwiches. I was really tired and sleepy then.
Then we had to rush to catch the bus, because KY woke up late. 1 minute when we arrived at the bus stop, the bus came. Unfortunately all 3 of us has no change, and only had a 50 Aud; the bus driver refuse to accept it, so we had to punch in a 2 hour zone 2 card and had to buy another zone 1 daily card. Then we rushed up the next train we saw, instead of going straight to Flinders St, it took a detour to Melbourne Central first. And when the next stop was supposed to be Flinders St, the sign states that it is going to Flagstaff, and stop in the midway of the railway track. Lucky for us, we managed to rush to the bus terminal and boarded the bus. They were rather efficient seeing that they actually credited the trip from the card, whether we show up or not.
The bus was rather nice, and the bus drive cum tour guide was rather entertaining. He was not too bad, except when he was driving through the hills, he was driving rather fast, and it made me slightly nausea. The road we took was the scenic road, and the view was really pretty. We visited the 12 Apostles, which to my opinion was just another few limestones, but the view there was breath catching. The Loch Ard Gorge has a small beach, not the best beach i have been to, but it was nice because it was enclosed. The story behind this Loch Ard Gorge was that a ship Loch Ard ran aground and only two survived. The London Bridge, which was a cliff which collapsed midway, had a story too, actually more like a scandal. There was a couple, the boss and his secretary went on a 'business' trip to the London Grotto where it collapsed and the couple was stranded there. His wife found out airing through TV how they were stranded there alone. Wonder what happened then?
When we got back to the city, we went to Ben's house, KY friend and we just had to tag along. >< Well, got to say Ben is a rather good chef, and i learned how to cook something new yesterday. The trip back from his house was terrible. It was pouring the whole night, and we had to walk to catch the bus and tram. It was a tiresome night, actually a tiring day to be exact.
