Saturday
Spring soccer season has come and gone. We just finished our last game on Saturday! Where in the world did that time go? E LOVES soccer. He loves being part of a team and he is pretty unselfish when it comes to the ball. We'll see how long that lasts. Whoever wants the ball, he is more than happy to give the ball. He is funny! He loves to be the one to do the corner kicks or throw-ins. Next season we will have goalies-
he is really looking forward to that.
I couldn't help but put a couple more tooth shots. Apparently, as I was wrapping my sweater around E I knocked his tooth out. Darn! I was so sad-
Not at all sad! Seriously- it's time for this protruding guys to exit.
We went to a youth auction at our church and picked up these beauties. E wore his the next day- almost all day. He kept saying things like
" Dad is this what it feels like to have a mustache?".
" Dad is this what it feels like to have a mustache?".
42
Craig is 42. Yes, 42.
Not that I think it is old or that there is anything wrong with that- he's like fine wine- he get's better with age- except that I get to enjoy him and I don't drink wine.
I digress, sorry.
I digress, sorry.
I LOVE Craig. I met him when I was 19. I had NO IDEA that my life was about to change completely. COMPLETELY. I thought I had it all mapped out and planned perfectly. (That should have been a sign right there....) I am blessed daily to get to call him my husband. I can't imagine my life any other way- well, I can and I see that I wouldn't be happy and content. Craig is wonderful and exactly what I'd hoped for but never knew was out there until he was mine.
Happy 42nd to the man who just keeps getting better with age!
E was home sick last week, so we had to make due with what we had. We had a whole bunch of dark chocolate and a bunch of butter. Craig ended up with a flour-less cake (naturally gf- for anyone interested). It was so good- but so rich, we could only eat a tiny piece. 3/4 of it ended up in the freezer for late night snacks.
So long, farewell
After a few months of snaggle tooth E has FINALLY lost one of the top teeth.
Amen, halleluiah! So long, farewell.
Alabama is still in the house- one more tooth to go!
Check'in out the chicks
These are our chicks. We love them. E LOVES them. He loves them so much that at first I was concerned we'd have a Lenny on our hands (Of Mice and Men)- however, he knew not to squish and squeeze- thank heavens- I did not want to deal with a dead baby chick. We've become attached- I've become attached. I'm not quite the lover of holding and giving them love but I care about these little buggers and want them to thrive. Last night at about midnight I found myself out washing one of them so that she didn't have poop stuck all over her. I NEVER thought I'd see the day that I liked birds. I do like these little birds. We've named them- we've got- Ophelia, Julia, Pips, Mae, Rosie, and Butterscotch (still waiting on the name of this one- some friends of ours are naming her. She's taken on butterscotch because of her color.) The best part of having the chicks you ask? So far it is the JOY below......... How I love my E.
Look at those crazy teeth! He finally lost one of them at his soccer game on Saturday! I'm so glad. These teeth are OUT of CONTROL!
He is so sweet with the chicks. He gives all of the kids a little "how to" on how to hold them and he takes such good care of them, for the most part.
There is the occasional need to see them jump off of his hand from 3 feet up.
Little stinker.
Craig tried to explain-
Craig- E, do you see that telephone pole there?
E- yes
Craig- Well, when you let the chicks jump off your hand or you drop them off it's just like me taking you to the top of that telephone pole and having you jump or dropping you off. How would that make you feel?
E- Not very good or happy.
Mostly not doing it anymore!
This is my favorite picture of the bunch. Pretty little Miss EJ is an animal lover just like E. She will spot a dog and want to go see it or touch it, etc. Just like E.
She was so stoked to come over and see the baby chicks. E was happy to help out.
I love these two.
I love these two.
I'm pretty sure that we are going to have a great time being chicken owners. 5 years ago I would have bet you $1000 dollars that I would never own a bird. I own 6.
