Things have changed drastically since I last updated this blog. We have added a new family member to our family! I guess I should start from the beginning since this mainly is for Madison to read later...if I end up making this into a little baby book for her. ;)
After a miscarriage last summer we finally found out we were pregnant again in September with Madison, who was due June 10, 2013. We were overjoyed to say the least and very blessed that it happened so quick. The pregnancy was an absolute breeze! I would sometimes forget I was even pregnant till I looked down and saw my growing belly, felt her kick or felt her sweet little hiccups.
Below is our first sonogram of our sweet Madison!
On January 11 we had another sonogram and found out she was a girl! We were so excited and went to NorthPark Mall and shopped away!

On June 4 I left school a tiny bit early to go to my last weekly doctor's appointment before my due date. I had picked Jonathan up from his work and we headed to my appointment thinking I was going to be in and out real quick. When we got to the doctor's office we didn't have to wait long till I was called back to get checked. I did the usual pee in a cup, weigh myself (only gained 20 pounds!), and get my blood pressure taken. That's when everything changed. My blood pressure was very high even though I felt great! Dr. Speight quickly came by and checked it her self and told us that she would have to induce me that day! We were both beyond shocked. I even asked if I could just rest for a minute to see if my bp would go down but they said nope! We headed straight to labor and delivery to get checked in. We had to make a million phone calls while we waited to get checked in. I also had to make sure my class at school was taken care of for the last day and a half left in the school year. After we checked in and I got hooked up to all the machines Jonathan left to go home and grab our bags.

I wasted no time in getting an epidural after 4 painless contractions. I am not one for pain and figured why not just get it now and not suffer! ;) By this time it was around 7pm that evening and Jonathan finally got back to the hospital. Madison ended up being sunny side up but head down. They tried everything to make sure she would turn face down but she never did. By 2am on June 5 they had me start pushing. I only pushed for about 10 minutes until Madison's heart rate went above 200 and they decided that a c-section was the way to go. By 2:39am Madison Kate made her appearance!!
My sweet red haired child!
The proud daddy!
The best OBGYN...Dr. Speight! She happened to be on call that night, I kinda wonder if that was another reason for induction too...eh probably not! ;) Love her and beyond happy she was on call!
I was beyond thankful that I had a c-section! Besides getting sick on the table while they were sewing me up it was fairly easy! I will say that I was very scared I was going to feel them cut me open, I guess I watch too much crazy television. Jonathan's mom and dad were at the hospital the whole time and my parents drove 6 hrs and got in at 4am just in time to see us before we went to our recovery room. Madison is the first grandchild on both sides.
We stayed in the hospital till Saturday, June 8. We enjoyed our stay, as much as you can when you are in a hospital but we were definitely ready to come home. We had many friends come and visit and had amazing nurses and doctors taking care of us.
I had to make sure Madison had the best going home outfit! I found this adorable outfit on etsy! She was definitely the cutest baby there at the hospital and got many compliments...I think it also helped she happened to be the only girl there the day we left too! ;) We are so in love with her and can't wait to watch her grow into a Godly Christian woman!
