Madison's Bedroom

I loved putting together Madison's room! It didn't end up being what I originally planned but I think it turned out so cute! We used coral, gray, white, mint green and pink for her colors.

The view of her room from her door! Chair and dresser are craigslist finds and the crib and bookshelf are from Target. Her bedding and curtains are from etsy! That's what started the whole color scheme.

Bought the chalkboard frame at Hobby Lobby and used my silhouette cameo to put the verse on there.

Bought the frame painted like this at McKinney Trade Days.

My sweet friend Taren made this headband for Madison!

Got the hanger from etsy!

I made this out of ribbon to hang above her crib on the wall.

I found this coral dresser painted with the knobs just like this! It matches her bedding perfectly! We only had to fix the drawers so they would pull out better.

Her room is definitely my favorite room in the house now! Love being in there!

1 month

It's been 1 month and 1 week since Madison has been with us! It's been a great month but the first two weeks were definitely eye opening to say the least. Anyone with more than one kid gets my ultimate respect! I don't know how anyone does more than one kid. I am just now coming around to the idea to having a second one...years from now though! lol

Madison has changed so much in such a short amount of time! A little bit about her first month...
-more alert
-smiles more
-starting to make baby noises
-officially in size 1 diapers as of yesterday
-only gets up to eat once during the night
-sleeps about 4 hour stretches at night
-started to out grow some of her newborn clothes(makes me sad!)
-holds her head up more and more each day
-loves sleeping on her tummy for naps
-sleeps in her mamaroo swing at night
-mostly drinking formula

God has blessed us with a very healthy baby girl who we love dearly! We are so thankful every day for her and I can't wait to watch her grow more and more! Here are some pictures Jonathan took of her this month!

Happy 1 month Maddie K! We love you very much!

Madison Kate Phelps

Things have changed drastically since I last updated this blog. We have added a new family member to our family! I guess I should start from the beginning since this mainly is for Madison to read later...if I end up making this into a little baby book for her. ;)

After a miscarriage last summer we finally found out we were pregnant again in September with Madison, who was due June 10, 2013. We were overjoyed to say the least and very blessed that it happened so quick. The pregnancy was an absolute breeze! I would sometimes forget I was even pregnant till I looked down and saw my growing belly, felt her kick or felt her sweet little hiccups.

Below is our first sonogram of our sweet Madison!

On January 11 we had another sonogram and found out she was a girl! We were so excited and went to NorthPark Mall and shopped away!

On June 4 I left school a tiny bit early to go to my last weekly doctor's appointment before my due date. I had picked Jonathan up from his work and we headed to my appointment thinking I was going to be in and out real quick. When we got to the doctor's office we didn't have to wait long till I was called back to get checked. I did the usual pee in a cup, weigh myself (only gained 20 pounds!), and get my blood pressure taken. That's when everything changed. My blood pressure was very high even though I felt great! Dr. Speight quickly came by and checked it her self and told us that she would have to induce me that day! We were both beyond shocked. I even asked if I could just rest for a minute to see if my bp would go down but they said nope! We headed straight to labor and delivery to get checked in. We had to make a million phone calls while we waited to get checked in. I also had to make sure my class at school was taken care of for the last day and a half left in the school year. After we checked in and I got hooked up to all the machines Jonathan left to go home and grab our bags.
I wasted no time in getting an epidural after 4 painless contractions. I am not one for pain and figured why not just get it now and not suffer! ;) By this time it was around 7pm that evening and Jonathan finally got back to the hospital. Madison ended up being sunny side up but head down. They tried everything to make sure she would turn face down but she never did. By 2am on June 5 they had me start pushing. I only pushed for about 10 minutes until Madison's heart rate went above 200 and they decided that a c-section was the way to go. By 2:39am Madison Kate made her appearance!!

My sweet red haired child!

The proud daddy!

The best OBGYN...Dr. Speight! She happened to be on call that night, I kinda wonder if that was another reason for induction too...eh probably not! ;) Love her and beyond happy she was on call!

I was beyond thankful that I had a c-section! Besides getting sick on the table while they were sewing me up it was fairly easy! I will say that I was very scared I was going to feel them cut me open, I guess I watch too much crazy television. Jonathan's mom and dad were at the hospital the whole time and my parents drove 6 hrs and got in at 4am just in time to see us before we went to our recovery room. Madison is the first grandchild on both sides.

We stayed in the hospital till Saturday, June 8. We enjoyed our stay, as much as you can when you are in a hospital but we were definitely ready to come home. We had many friends come and visit and had amazing nurses and doctors taking care of us.

I had to make sure Madison had the best going home outfit! I found this adorable outfit on etsy! She was definitely the cutest baby there at the hospital and got many compliments...I think it also helped she happened to be the only girl there the day we left too! ;) We are so in love with her and can't wait to watch her grow into a Godly Christian woman!
