Kaiya and Jager's first day of school

Kaiya Started Grade one on August 31st. She was very excited until it was time for mom and dad to leave. All summer we have been talking about Grade one and how much fun she would have. The only catch was the whole getting up early thing. Kaiya has always been our sleep in girl. She could sleep in till at least 10 everyday if we let her. We had been trying to prepare her by trying to get the kids to bed a bit earlier a week or so before school started. I say try because it didn't really work. It seems no matter how early I put them to bed you just can't force them to actually sleep. Well when the big morning arrived I had to wake Kiaya up around 7am. She had to be at school at 8:22am what a random time huh. Anyways I started on her hair while dad made her some scrambled eggs (Kaiya's request). For some reason Jager was having a bit of a rough morning that day, he was very grumpy. I think he must have sensed thing would be changing. Both geoff and I wanted to see Kaiya off to school so I called my mom to see if she could come over and watch Jag and Cooper(thanks mom) Kaiya was very quite during the short ride to school. I kept trying to get her all hyped up but she looked kids of nervous. We made it the class room and put away her backpack and found her desk. The teacher then asked all of the kids to sit down on the floor in front of her. That was our que to leave. I told Kaiya to go sit down and that is when the tear began to well (for both of us) I knew I would be sad but seeing her so sad and nervous made it so much worse. We finally made it out and I made it to the cross walk before the real tears started coming. I was so sad that she would be in school all day. My little girl just seemed so grown up. I think I really took for granted the time we got to spend at home with her. Her school Carree has now started, and it's a long haul. Well I am posting this after she has had a full week of school under her belt and she really does seem to love it after all. She is defiantly still adjusting to getting up earlier but I'm sure that will come. I asked her what her favorite part of school is and of course she said it was recess, big surprise. The girl loves the swings and monkey bars. Well I'm relieved she still loves school and I hope that will continue through the years to come.

Jager's first day of school was a bit different than Kaiya's. All summer Kaiya had been telling Jager all about the preschool he would get to go to. When the day came Jager was very excited to get there. All morning he was saying mom "is it time to go to school yet." I would say "not yet Jag but soon." he then would say "no mom I want to go aredda (already)." As soon as we got there he was off and running he really could have cared less that mom and dad had to leave. At first I was a little sad that he didn't care about us leaving, but then I told myself that this was way better that trying to leave him in tears like we had to with Kaiya in preschool. I think it might just be a boy thing. I'm very excited to see him form relationship with his new friends and teachers. Jager has a December birthday so he is one of the younger kids there, but I'm sure he will hold his own. He is already making lots of friends but for some reasone can only remember two names. I'm excited to go to his first snack day, although I'm sure I'll have to fight Geoff for it. Jager and Geoff have a very special relationship. He loves spending time with his dad. Geoff will often take him out on errands with him and take him to his office. I love when they go the the office because I usually get a phone call from Jag telling me that he is st the office working hard. He always asks if I'm sad and If I'm missing him. Of course I say yes, and I do miss him but I am also really enjoying some quite time.

I am so spoiled when it comes having to do much running around with all of the kids at once. Geoff is so great. For the most part he is the one who bring the kids to and from school everyday. I love his flexibility and love for his family. I really don't know what I would do without that boy.

The kid went right for the kitchen, how can you tell he has a sister...

Kisses

OK, so I know I am so behind on blogging, but I just had to post this little tidbit of Jager humor. I will try and catch up soon.

MOM: "can I have a kiss?"
JAGER: gives me a kiss
MOM: "can I have another?"
JAGER: gives me a kiss
MOM: "can I have another?"
JAGER: "no mom, too many kisses will give me allergies!"

I love this kid. He says some of the funniest stuff. The problem is I forget to write all of it down. Anyway I thought it was pretty funny and wanted to remember this one when he starts kissing those girls.
