I’m just so thankful. So so thankful. Orientation today was a blast.

I’m currently typing this outside the UNSW Gym because the sister is inside working out, and I’m not allowed access because you would then have to sign up for the membership card which will cost me 60 Aussie bucks per month. Maybe not then. I’m running low on cash! The sister said I’ll use her pass when she’s not using it since we look alike. And Ang Mohs always think that all asian girls look similar.

Its quite cool – there’s a café in between the gym and the swimming pool, they are divided by glass panels. So people working out can see people swimming and working out , vice versa. Which isn’t a very good idea – imagine doing your treadmill infront of yummy muffins and sandwiches!

Orientation today was really fun! Its not so much of the activities but rather the company I would say. The activities all that —— BORING BORING.

Fon was my first friend in UNSW, she’s from Thailand and is currently pursuing her masters in Commerce, majoring in marketing. She’s really pretty and speaks with an American accent. Although she’s 25 years old, I clicked with her the moment we met. We just had so much things to talk about. I also found out that she worked for EXXONMOBIL – and I worked for Shell before! So we were pretty excited about coming from the same industry. And the thing was, she’ stays right opposite me, just have to cross the road! We hang out a bit in school, walked around, look around together J

We walked back home together, or rather, she walked me home since I’m staying nearer to school. She was supposed to meet me down my place at 3pm so we could walk together to school for our next program (she likes to eat at home too, yayyy, cheapo cheapo one, just like me!). But I met Lauren, she’s my senior, an Australian, to buy her textbooks! She offered me a really good price – $65 for both the textbook and the student manual. If I were to buy it 1st hand from the book store, I would have to pay $200.

At space recovery, I met Christina – she’s an ABC from Los Angeles. She’s really pretty and she’s doesn’t look Chinese at all. She looks Pan Asian. She’s doing her Masters in Microbiology something something – I’m not really sure. We chatted quite a bit before we were interrupted by Edwin, Alex and this German guy. (I forgot his name!)

So I met 1 from Germany, 1 from Columbia, a few from Hong Kong and Malaysia and many from China! Yet none from Singapore till I met Shawn. I was pretty shocked when he told me his name and I had to double confirm the spelling. And the thing is, he attends hillsongs church as well! He’s quite funny how detected he’s a christian – every sentence he will end with “thank God”… its really a blessing that i’m able to…. He’s gonna like contact me when the hillsong person find a connect group for him, so he’ll ask me along! Really very happy to have met him!

And he’s housemate PC – also another Singaporean. Being around them makes me feel happy. It makes me feel less homesick – I don’t know why. I just feel so happy! Meeting them certainly made me night. J

OH YES, AND I FOUND A JOB ALREADY! I’M working at three. http://www.three.com.au

I just hate it when it gets so dark when its onli 5pm. Go away, cold lonely winter.

My housemate, Poh Lin, treated my sister and myself to Japanese food on Friday night, along together with Shindy and her boyfriend, Kenneth. I was really excited because finally, finally, i get to eat outside after so many days here. I’m pretty sick of my home-cooked food already.

The sister drove all of us there, its at Kensington, just 5 mins drive away. They are such really nice people, who made me feel really comfortable with them though they are 4 or 5 years my senior. Japanese food here is much more nicer than in Singapore. I’m serious. The Unagi is really fresh – and all the sushi here is handmade by a real Japanese chef. You know, in Singapore, like those in Sakae Sushi – the sushi is machine made, double eeeks and yucks. I took some pictures with my new viewty phone! But i’m so afraid of uploading them cause it will EAT UP my bandwidth. I will upload when i’m in Uni.

Some interesting conversations:

S: “Hello, you’re Joyce’s sister, what’s your name?”

G: “Hello! I’m Georgina, you can call me Georgie.”

S: “Your name sounds like a very expensive fashion brand name”

G: *my face lited up “oh really?” *smiles in return of the compliment

S: “Oh yeah!!! Sounds like GIORDANO”

G: -_-“””

Conversations went on….

S: “You have a very unique voice, you know that.”

G: *shrugs, and thinks “why does everyone have to comment about my voice”

S: “Like a little girl like that, this kind of voice, alot of guys will like! Better be careful!”

G: -_-“”” -_-“””

Oh my, they are really funny people. Shindy & Kenneth. Especially when they start to squabble infront of us. And how Shindy will force Kenneth to do things for her and gives that “you better do it now or you’ll suffer later” killer look. And how they would pinch and tickle each other when one says something cheeky. Which reminds me of chubby bear – how we always quarrel and squabble at the slightest thing, but deep down, how very much in love we are with each other.

After dinner, the Sister drove us back home, and we started to fix Poh Lin’s bed frame together. With Kenneth doing the fixing of course, 4 of us girls just stand down there and act pretty only, help me take screws, help him take screwdriver, help him hold the plank etc. We fixed up my bed frame too – and so yay, don’t have to sleep on the floor anymore already!

The sister drove them back to their apartment in Central, i tagged along cause its not safe to drive alone at night, especially with the World Youth Day here. Most of the roads are like closed, so it takes pretty long to drive to the city with all the diversions here and there.

By the time we reached home, it was already 12 midnight. Dead tired. Dead tired.

P.s. oh man, the pilgrims (250,000) of them are singing @ Randwick racecourse and i can hear it from here! Randwick is like 15 mins walk from here. and there were fireworks just now – but just for a split second, Fay told me. Man, i can’t believed i missed that. Will upload pictures of WYD soon, i hope!

Going to do the dishes, laundry, was the toliet and vaccum the floor now before the MONSTER sister comes back. If not, she’ll start screaming at me. I miss my mummyyy

So i’ve finally reached Sydney – thank you all for sending me off at the airport. very touched by the pretty gifts, pretty soft toys (chubby dog), pretty cards, pretty collage scrap book. thank you so much! i will cherish all these and keep them close to my heart. and when i’m lonely i can take them all out.

“And a lifetime’s not too long, to live as friends…”

I had a sudden urge to scan all my old pictures, seeing these pictures brings back a sense of nostalgia.

Church Camp was AMAZING.

I’m third from the left.

I love Daddy, Mummy and Jie Jie.

As a cell leader, its very important to lead your little ones well. If not they may end up like that:

Sadly, i don’t have much time left with them anymore.

I love my little ones a whole lot, seeing them grow into a strong women of God just brings so much satisfaction to my life. I thank God for them, every single one of them.

Prayers for the 2 most important man in my life:

Heavenly Father,
I pray that Daddy will have a good night’s rest, that he’ll be able to sleep well.
And that he won’t have to wake up in the middle of the night to pass urine.
That there will not be any pain, any discomforts .
Thank you for protecting my daddy.
In Jesus name i pray,
Amen

Heavenly Father,
I pray for my darling chubby bear.
That you will shower him with all Your wisdom & Your abundant grace as he works diligently on his projects.
Thank you for blessing him with good health.
In Jesus name i pray,
Amen
