Perfect-Peaceful

I read a book this weekend called "A Woman's Guide to the Temperaments". I found out that my temperament is "Perfect-Peaceful". Meaning that I'm a perfectionist in some things and really laid back in others. That wasn't too surprising, but it was interesting to read suggestions on how to best interact with the other temperaments in my life. (Part of the peaceful side of me is being totally drained of energy when I get home from work. Right now it's only lunchtime and I'm already tired!)

The Best Question Ever

A couple months ago I listened to a podcast of the same title as this post by Andy Stanley. The theme of it has really stuck with me and I'd recommend a listen to everyone out there. If you're wondering what the best question is...

"In light of my past experience,
my future hopes and dreams,
and my current reality
what is the wise thing for me to do?"

Let that go through your mind the next time you're making a decision, big or small.

Here's a link to the podcasts:

Computer Glasses

I am officially getting old. In a week or two I will be getting computer glasses. I've always said we're not meant to sit and stare at a computer screen for 8 hours a day. Now I have proof. Unfortunately, my job means spending the majority of my day doing various things on the computer. I am one of those people who relish going on vacation because I won't have to use a computer. I try very hard not to even touch them when I'm away from work. At least I have great insurance to cover these costs and I found some cute glasses to boot.

Modesty

This is something we've discussed in our bible study group before and now I can't help but think there are many women who need to hear about it too. As you may know, my favorite show is "The Bachelor". The drama cracks me up and the romantic in me really wants to see people fall in love. (Even though it rarely happens on the show...) Anyway, the last episode entailed way too little- in the way of clothing! I can't blame the poor "bachelor" for being distracted by all the skin and cleavage, but it was totally obvious! He had to try really hard to not look at what they were showing. I highly recommend the book "For Women Only" for all the ladies out there. It helped me understand that the way I dress affects others much more than I realized.

Kiddo's

I just received the sweetest pictures of my little niece, Julienne. There is something about babies that makes the soul content. Not that it's always been that way of course. They used to scare me so much that I always said I was going to be the cool aunt. However (drumroll please), I am changing my position. Colton James has showed me how much of a joy kids really are in one's life. I can't wait to have a little one of my own some day. Thanks to Tamee & Steve for their role in bringing Colton into the world and changing my mind! I cannot wait to meet Julienne and the next little one in our family.
