Sleepy Swing....

Nick, Will & I met our friends at the park to play & picnic.... As you can see, Nick had plenty of fun, so much that he fell asleep in the swing! He didn't make a fuss the whole time, he just simply fell asleep. I feel a little bad for him but, I got to hold him for a nap and those days are probably numbered.

Swimming Class....

I just can't commit to the blog but, it is the best place to share little videos like these of Will's swim class today. He did a 2 week, everyday class and it really worked for him! He loved his teacher, Mr. Josh and will have him this fall each Wednesday.

Puffs

Nick has started with Puffs and is getting the hang of it. I did not style his hair - - that is his natural "i've just been in the pool" look

Such concentration...

Look, I can do it

See, it is in my mouth

All gone!

Take Me Out to the Ballgame

Tim took Will to his first baseball game on Tuesday night - Astros vs. Dodgers. Will was so incredibly excited about it - he started jumping up and down when Tim came home from work and screamed "baseball game, baseball game".

Go Astros!

I am sure the whole night would be better told from Tim's point of view but, it sounds like they both had a great time. Will was thrilled to see the train which runs along left field (or right, I don't know if left field is behind 3rd or 1st but, whatever) when the Astros score. If you happen to have a train obsession like our little one....you can see it in the upper right corner in the picture

But, here is a pic of Will (2.5 yrs) and Nick (almost 7 months) from today. this is the first picture where I think they look alike.

we're having fun this summer & hope you are too!

Family Pics

Just a quick post with a few pics from our recent session.... I finally learned how to upload multiple pics at once so, blogging just became a little easier!

I was surprised at how many good pics she got of Will - - he was very preoccupied with the train going around the park, the helicopters, the birds, his chapped lips...you name it.
Nick was his typical laid-back, happy self!

he's growing up so fast!

Nick is 4 months and 10 days old today.... This weekend, we looked at Will's baby book and couldn't believe all the things he was playing with at this age. So, it motivated me to get out some older toys and see what Nick thought. Here he is with his new booster seat to match Will's.

On Monday, it was beautiful out and I just wanted to get away. So, I asked Will if he wanted to go to the beach, the park or look at boats. He said boats (specifically sailboats) so, we set off to Kemah to look at the boats & ride the train.

all clean after a busy day!

Delta Love

Becca gave Will this dolphin lovey for his baby shower back in Fall 2005. He showed no interest in it but, little bro Nick loves it! As I have learned with Will's precious blanket...you need two loveys just in case.

A quick search led to me to find a few other moms looking for this precious dolphin and they cannot be found. So, I am going to have to play a game of switcheroo when the 2 elephant loveys I ordered arrive! They are the exact same (same company, same size, same color) but, instead of a dolphin....the corner is an elephant. If Nick can tell the difference at this age, I have a feeling I'm in for it!

We had a fun weekend but, I think we logged a few too many hours outside! Will has a heat rash and has been confined to the AC for the past couple of days. Here he is on Sunday night eating ice cream after dinner.

Okay, I'll wrap up this post but wanted to share a couple pics from the past week. here is Nick, getting ready to go out to the pool & watch Will swim

And here is Will, with his snack - pretzels dipped in cream cheese. He put all the pretzels in his tub of cream cheese (don't worry, he has his own tub!) and then sang happy birthday. I'm not sure to who, but it was cute!

it's been a long time...

I know it's been a long time but, we've been busy! We had a great trip back to Kansas for the boy's baptism, Easter and then to Denver for Becca's wedding. Finally, we are feeling a little more settled back at home and I have a few pics to share.

This weekend was a weekend of "firsts" at our house - Will's first ice cream truck experience, tricycle and swim in the pool this season. For Nick, he rolled over & tried rice cereal. Nick didn't seem to mind it but, Will wanted to try the rice cereal and he really hated it! We tried to warn him...

well, my computer isn't letting me upload pics for now but, I'll try again later!

Rodeo Time!

We were showered, dressed, out the door and at the rodeo by 9:45 am. That alone may be one of the most amazing feats I've ever pulled off.
Will, 2 yrs/3mos and Nick, 3 mos

Kick Some Bootie - we found Nick's rodeo shirt!

No rodeo is complete without a funnel cake!

Two Babies

We play a game at our house, called 2 Babies -- which means, both boys do the same thing (e.g. Will wants us to hold him and Nick at once or both boys get their diaper changed).
We moved the game to Will's crib and both boys were having so much fun. It gave me a little glimpse of how much fun they'll be having together for a long time!!

Will & the magical park

I just love this picture of Will and I can't describe why....but I love it and had to share with you!

Anyways, the picture was taken at what I am now going to refer to as the magical park. We've gone there 2 weeks in a row now for playgroup and Will loves it. He completely comes out of his shell, says hello to anyone & everyone and just goes non-stop. Today it was the "big boy" swings, the slides and just playing with all his friends.
With Parker and Kate...on an abandoned bike that they believed was built for three!

and with Mary Kate. these two were "monkey see, monkey do" on the ladder & slide

Sweet Smiles!

Nick continues to be such a laid back baby...definitely taking after his Dad. He gives us so many smiles, especially when we say "coo-coo" to him. He threw out a couple of laughs today when I played with his legs like he was riding a bike & skiing

Go Texan Day

Today is Go Texan Day, which kicks off the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo...

"Houstonians know exactly what's going on - they've been around it for many years. But "foreigners" might not realize they're being soaked in the Go Texan Spirit. "Grow beards, wear big hats, boots and spurs. Let's put a little touch of the Wild West into this thing."

Will donned two outfits on Go Texan Day - - one for school (proper cowboy shirt above) and his space cowboy outfit at home. I'll let you guess which one was his favorite....

We somehow misplaced Nick's rodeo shirt so, he is not going Texan today but, still full of smiles!

Gorgeous Weekend!

It was so beautiful this weekend, we spent a lot of time playing on the driveway.

Nick slept through the night on both Friday and Sunday night! Not to be picky but..... it would have been nice if he slept on Saturday night too; since we went out & had a few drinks with Aunt Julee (came to visit us from nyc)

First Smiles & First Airplane Trip

Nick has started to give us more smiles & I was able to capture some this weekend!
Nick & I made a quick trip back to Kansas this weekend for my Granny's funeral. We had such a good time with all our family - immediate and extended! Definitely a sad reason to all get together but, still so wonderful to see everyone. Nick got to see every single one of his cousins, aunts, uncles & grandparents....which was such a treat!

With Ella (4 yrs old)

With the Maurer Girls Emily (7), Abbie (5) and Sydney (2.5)
With the Normans - Ben (7) & Haylee (4)
Somehow, we didn't get a pic of Gavin & Nick together...but I had to share this cute pic of the big 1 year old!! With Aunt Kristin

On Sunday we celebrated Graham's 15th Birthday, it was so fun to hang with the Benjamin boys like the old days. Courtney, Carrie, Julee, Graham & JK.
After all this fun, Nick was so worn out! He was an angel with all the travel & cold weather, but today is very tired. Big brother Will is very excited to see him, so Nick isn't getting the most peaceful rest!
